I had a rare craving for chicken lo mein and was satisfied by Dragon Express. Also in our order was minced chicken with lettuce wraps, crispy pot stickers, fried rice, orange peel chicken, and spicy Korean pork. The minced chicken with lettuce wraps was comparable to PF Chang's; probably the best thing in our order. The crispy pot stickers were good, but tbh it's hard to mess up pot stickers. My assumption is that they are frozen pot stickers and heated up but I cannot confirm. My brother ordered the orange peel chicken. It was battered, fried, and covered in orange sauce. It was more batter than chicken, but that's not uncommon for orange chicken. The fried rice was your typical fried rice, good, solid. The Korean pork we ordered the spiciest level possible and it was NOT spicy. My brother notoriously cannot eat anything even remotely spicy (regular hot cheetos are "too" spicy for him) and he tried it and confirmed, not spicy. Trust me when I say it means a lot when he can eat it. Overall, Dragon Express is good to satisfy a craving but doesn't necessarily hit the spot. read more

This has become my favorite Chinese spot. Good flavors, consistent quality and great customer service. I have never had an issue here. At first I thought it was slightly more American Chinese food,and that is still true. However, the consistency of the ingredients and the recipes keep me coming back. My other Chinese spot taste more authentic but sometimes the food be so greasy or the quality of the good feels rushed. Never here. So happy I found this place a few years ago and now it is my go to spot. General Tsao Chicken is my jam, side of lo mein is good. Sesame Chicken is also good. My husband like the Orange Chicken add broccoli. I always order a side of Crab Angels (Crab ragoons). They are flavorful and alwaya tasty. Did not like the food from Dragon Express. Got takeout last weekend, and, while service was great, the food was a colossal waste of time and money. I got the chilli edamame, and it was drowning in so much salt that I did not finish it. It burned my throat to try to eat this edamame. I also got sesame chicken as my entree, and it did not have any sesame seeds nor did it even have sauce on it. It was just pieces of bare chicken with no taste. How that passes for an order of sesame chicken, who knows. The search for good Chinese takeout nearby continues. read more

Decided to get takeout from this place and it did not disappoint! We stopped by around 45 minutes before they closed down for the night, and they still had a few orders lined up ready to be picked up. We placed our order at the counter and the employee was nice. We opted for the large dragon wonton soup soup, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef. All with white rice. We literally waited about 10 minutes and we were out the door. The soup was delicious! I ordered Kung Pao chicken and it was bland with a few pieces of whole white chicken and the rest of the chicken being a weird combination of "breaded/battered/encrusted" chicken. Who in the right mind does that ? Breaded/battered/encrusted chicken mixed in with regular chicken breast? The food in this place was simply horrible. To start with it made us sick. It didn't taste fresh. The fried rice looked dark brown. I ordered shrimp in oyster sauce and for $13 received a cup of shrimp soup with egg. We ordered $75 worth of food. All left overs after getting sick went straight to the garbage. Seriously, Panda Express tastes so much better. Their portions average about $13 and you get very little for your money. Actually, we paid to get sick. Stay away from this place. This is your definition of hole in the wall. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the authentic Chinese food has become a weekly staple in our house. This is also one of those rare finds that the take out food is just as good as eating in the restaurant. I highly recommend the Hot and Sour soup. It is the perfect balance of a little bit of spice but engulfed in rich deep flavors. I constantly order the teriyaki chicken with fried rice. The chicken is coated and deep friend in this light coating that makes it incredible to eat. I also recommend the General Tso's chicken. It is cooked in the most satisfying sauce. I'd been down with a flu bug or something for about a day and a half and had a very delicate tummy. I got out the door so I could go to the Rubber Stamp Show they have here in Mesa twice a year and when the show was over I figured I should get something to eat since I hadn't had anything for 2 days. I searched Yelp for a Jewish delicatessen thinking chicken soup would be the best thing but there wasn't anything close. I tried searching different categories including soup and wasn't satisfied with what I saw. Then I thought, well what the heck, and started searching for pho places. I think this is one of the places that popped up and since it was a place that I had passed by many times and wanted to try, I decided to stop in here. I told the young man behind the counter that I was interested in soup but I wasn't sure if the choices listed on the menu would be enough food for me and he let me know they have the larger 32 ounce size available so I said that's the ticket and ordered the egg drop soup, after debating between it and the won ton soup. The soup came out fairly quickly and while it was piping hot it was edible pretty quickly. It had good flavor and lots of good egg in it which I figured would give me some nutrition and protein. It wasn't overly salty like so many soups are and I had absolutely no tummy reactions to it later, for which I was very grateful. I felt much better by the time I left and I think it helped me get back on my feet the next day . I found the atmosphere to be very friendly and welcoming and the soup to be good quality. I will definitely be coming back here to try other items that looked good on the menu. Oh, and did I mention the soup was only about five dollars? Score. read more
