I'd been down with a flu bug or something for about a day and a half and had a very delicate tummy. I got out the door so I could go to the Rubber Stamp Show they have here in Mesa twice a year and when the show was over I figured I should get something to eat since I hadn't had anything for 2 days. I searched Yelp for a Jewish delicatessen thinking chicken soup would be the best thing but there wasn't anything close. I tried searching different categories including soup and wasn't satisfied with what I saw. Then I thought, well what the heck, and started searching for pho places. I think this is one of the places that popped up and since it was a place that I had passed by many times and wanted to try, I decided to stop in here. I told the young man behind the counter that I was interested in soup but I wasn't sure if the choices listed on the menu would be enough food for me and he let me know they have the larger 32 ounce size available so I said that's the ticket and ordered the egg drop soup, after debating between it and the won ton soup. The soup came out fairly quickly and while it was piping hot it was edible pretty quickly. It had good flavor and lots of good egg in it which I figured would give me some nutrition and protein. It wasn't overly salty like so many soups are and I had absolutely no tummy reactions to it later, for which I was very grateful. I felt much better by the time I left and I think it helped me get back on my feet the next day . I found the atmosphere to be very friendly and welcoming and the soup to be good quality. I will definitely be coming back here to try other items that looked good on the menu. Oh, and did I mention the soup was only about five dollars? Score. read more

My son and I were in the mood for some quick Asian food, and this did not disappoint. Inside is very clean and modern, with booths and tables. Prices were right. We usually order from Dragon Express on Grubhub for delivery and we have never had an experience that didn't blow us away. We originally found this restaurant when driving by.. we stopped in for lunch and dined in and everyone was extremely friendly and it was a quick and delicious meal. The food is always incredibly fresh, arrives hot (when ordering delivery), on time and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food they serve you! Best Kung Pao Chicken we have ever had. First time here and it will be my last. We should have not ordered when we walked in and it had a strong chemIcal smell. I always get General Tso's chicken and this is NOT IT. This is like orange chicken with the heavy batter over the chicken that falls off. The sauce is sweet and not spicy, no chili peppers. Nothing about this dish is General Tso's. From order to delivery it took 96 minutes and this place is only .6 miles from my home. We don't know the area very well, but we were there and needed to eat. With two little one's and one that is extremely picky, we didn't know what we were going to do. We saw Dragon Express, looked it up, it had great reviews, and decided to try it. We weren't sure if our littles would be happy about it, but it was a risk we were willing to take and so glad we did. We were greeted when we walked in and the gentleman up front saw our littles and immediately showed us the kids menu. Yes!! I love when there are kids menus! My picky one read it and already made a decision...great! We ended up ordering the kids teriyaki chicken and orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, miso soup, chicken egg rolls, and the pad Thai (recommended by the gentleman). Everything came out fast, hot, fresh, and DELICIOUS!! The littles ate every last bite of their chicken and left the rice behind. That never happens. this was probably the worst experience I have ever had with Chinese. Ordered through door dash who was amazing. Not only was our soup spilling all over the bag and the lids loose but I found multiple bugs in my soup, it almost sounds cliche. Do not eat here. there ratings have been so up and down and I wanted to give them a second chance since they apparently got some better ratings but apparently it was a lie cause they are not checking their food. was already sick today was hoping for some warm healing wonton soup and will probably be getting more sick because of it. if I could give it less than one star I would. There's a Taiwanese/Chinese restaurant back home in New Mexico whose name is actually dragon express. Very different take on Chinese food but extremely good. It took more than a few times to find a really good Chinese place. I tried Flo's which is so much closer to my apartment but it really isn't that good (my opinion). My sister tried Chine Jade and we both tried chopstick express--both very bad. This is where this review comes into play. This place never seems to disappoint. I love the egg drop soup, the wontons, and almost all of the entrees served on the menu. One thing I haven't tried yet is the Korean soup, which looks really good. Whenever I come I usually get the general tso's chicken something I hear isn't Chinese at all but more of an American delicacy. If you like general tso's chicken this may be the place for you. Very nice staff and they may take some time to warm up to you but always a pleasant experience. Too bad their delivery radius is one block short from my complex. read more

I've been back three times in two weeks as I was that curious and hungry to try more items on the menu. I really enjoyed the egg drop soup, spring rolls, lo mein, orange peel chicken, sesame chicken, and general tso's chicken. Everything is freshly made and the breading on the chicken is delicious :) I love the combo options at lunch and the serving sizes are large. I don't mind adding $1 for lo mein as it's so good. I don't understand how this place doesn't have 5 stars because all of the 4 of 5 reviewers say the food is all hot, fresh, with great portions and reasonable prices. I have lived in the neighborhood 3 years now, and I LOVE Dragon Express!!! Every time I order for dine in, pick up or delivery, they always answer right away, are friendly and fast, and their food is consistently amazing. They have delivered to other locations for me and I can always rely on them for days I need hot dinner fast. This is one place that never disappoints and their restaurant is always clean. This restaurant has a lot of high ratings so I thought I'd give it a try. You order at the counter and then they bring the food out to you. I ordered two spring rolls, egg drop soup, and General Tsao's chicken. The egg drop soup was very hot and quite delicious and I like the touch that they added ample corn to it. The spring rolls were also very hot and delicious. Having had those two things preliminary to my meal when my dinner was served there was plenty of food, certainly a good value for my money. Overall I thought the food was very good. I think the only thing that I didn't particularly care for was the music was a little louder than I would've liked for eating in a restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. I would say if you're looking for an alternative in the Chinese food market certainly stop in and try this place, you won't be disappointed. read more

Appetizers was Rangoons, portion sizes were large.. honestly everything was perfect, being pregnant right now I can taste or smell if something is off & I can tell you nothing was bad. All staff where polite, a good variety of drinks & sauces. Clean place, many takeout orders & restaurant was about half full. Seemed like a good amount of business. I LOVED this place!!!! We have been searching and searching for the perfect place to get Asian food bc we like to eat it once a week. They have great food and there is a bit of every taste of Asia. I had Pad Thai which was better than I've had at Thai specific places!!!!! We tried the egg drop soup and it was good, hot, fresh, and a big bowl with crunchies too. Lo Mein was yummy as was Kung Pao chicken. U serve ur own drink which we love especially with spicy dishes. I always get tea and it was freshly made and purified water as was the soda which were Coke products. It is super clean and fun decor inside too. Sort of mood lighting and dim which is really nice and relaxing. Seating is comfortable and there is tv but it is turned on mute with CC so it doesn't bother but u can look at it. I have been dying for a good place that delivers that isn't pizza, and DE didn't disappoint! I gave them a call to see if I was in their delivery boundaries, and luckily I was, and I had a few people over so we ordered kung pao, chicken teriyaki, lo mein, fried rice, and pad thai. They said it would take about an hour, and I believe the food arrived in about 50 minutes. It was bagged up nicely and the gent who dropped it off was very polite. I was really surprised at the amount of food and the quality just opening all of the boxes, and I was very glad that everything tasted so good :) I tried them again for delivery two nights ago and got orange chicken, brown rice, and pot stickers, all of which were delicious.
