    Elote pizza
    Jennifer H.

I like this place because of the staff and the Elote pizza. It was not that busy Saturday night so it was easy to get a table and order. We had trouble ordering through their QR code sticker on the table. You can order food and drinks through an app, but we preferred having a waitress, and she was so kind so that's the route we went with. The Elote pizza was our favorite. It was medium spicy and had flavor. If you order a burger medium rare, they will actually cook it the way you want it. I was super happy about it. I guess there was a music bingo night thing going on which was entertaining in the background because we heard all sorts of short clips from old songs and were trying to guess what they were. Since the outside of the restaurant said "Climb, Ride, Eat, Play" or something along those lines, we thought it would have some bouldering in there, but it did not. It drew us in though!

Came here to have a beer and watch the end of the NLCS baseball game. The service was great and got a 22 oz beer for the price of a pint. That is never a bad thing. The place is pretty large and the menu looked very good but I had already had dinner and I was just looking to finish up the ball game. It was later but there were still a large group of people. I hope I get to come back on this trip.

The staff were nice and very friendly so no problem with the service. The place was decorated nicely as well, though I didn't get a chance to see the climbing wall. The food was okay. We got the Spinach Artichoke Dip as an appetizer and was served with tortilla chips and cheesy garlic bread. The dip itself tasted okay, but very mayonnaise-y. It kinda reminded me of cheesy baked mussels. The amount of dip they give you is little compared to the amount of chips and bread you get. The bread doesn't really taste that garlicky and just has cheese on it which is fine. My mom got the Elvis Calzone, which was fine. It wasn't spectacular. It's kind of hard to mess up a calzone. I got the Mushroom Swiss Burger. It came with beer battered waffle fries. The burger was whatever. It didn't have much flavor to it except for the char on the patty and was very greasy. The fries were delicious and I think the ranch they have is really nice.

The food is definitely good! The vibe is great for friends! Drinks and food? Hello?!? The service is amazing you can't go wrong. I tried the gluten free pizza and it was PHENOMENAL! A must try !

The food here is always really good, fresh, and comes out pretty quickly. Good customer service by the waiters and managers! There's tons of games to play and lots of tvs around to watch ! Big bar in the center of the restaurant for all your drinking needs. The bread bowl with the daily soup is fantastic, I loved the cheesy beef sandwich with sweet potato fries it was delicious. Everything is consistently delicious here !

Service left much to be desired. It was slow and quiet on a Saturday evening; seemed like a big party had left and there were a few patrons sitting at the bar. As Kyle H. mentioned, the QR code to the menu requires you to download an app to view it. There are paper menus, however, our server brought it over to our table after ~5 minutes. He did take our order but was confusing when we mentioned we had ordered wings on the app and that he could enter the rest of our order on the app. The pineapple express burger was good but I was expecting grilled pineapple rings, not grilled pineapple pieces (maybe I misread the menu?). There also didn't appear to be any teriyaki sauce as mentioned but not the biggest deal. My burger was cooked medium well as requested, although some sections were more charred.

Since it has been a few years since my last review, here is an updated review of this establishment. Everything written about the trivia still stands and it is a rather fun activity to do with friends. It happens two times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. If you place in the top three during any of the sessions you still get the same amounts of money to use during your next visit (1st = $15, 2nd = $10, 3rd = $5). Usually this is enough for appetizers for the group, just tell the server you have a voucher to use. They also have Karaoke on Tuesdays from 9:00 PM to 11:55 PM. Parking hasn't changed. It is still plentiful but sometimes when the place is crowded you may have to park further into the plaza to find a spot. Tacos are still $3 on Tuesdays and the variety also hasn't changed. It still consists of pork, shrimp, fish, beef, however it no longer comes with a side of chips and salsa. The menu is still vast and has something for everyone. Even though I come here almost weekly, I still haven't managed to try every single item on the menu. They also sometimes add new items to the menu so if you like trying new things, then seeing that is a nice touch. Also take heed this is a bar so the food is bar food so a lot of things are fried, are carb heavy, and/or are finger foods. There are some salads too (they're pretty tasty) for those wanting to eat a bit healthier. Boulders also uses the Union app now for ordering, in which you can either pay through your phone or ask the server for the check. I find this pretty useful because you can either scan the QR code on the table or if you have friends already seated and you're on the way, you can ask them for the table number and order ahead on the app so that your food is ready for you when you arrive. The service is still impeccable. The servers are all still very nice and friendly. Overall, still a great place!

We have loved coming here for years and continue to love it! Dog friendly patio let's us bring our baby with us while we enjoy football and amazing food and beer selections! The pizza is our go-to and the fried artichoke hearts! We never seen fried artichoke anywhere before it's playfully far the best idea! If you haven't been 100% recommend! Ask for Kyle he is friendly and accommodating, was just on it!

Is the troll still in the women's bathroom mirror?

Sadly the Troll in no longer there. the previous restaurant took that with them. It also seemed a little creepy to have a two way mirror in a restroom, so that was replaced.

How late is the kitchen open?

    I believe 10 p.m.

    When is happy hour?

Monday-Friday 3:00-7:00 & reverse happy hour 9:00- close Monday - Thursday. With all day happy hour on Sundays.

This is actually a food truck, which is parked on the side of the Tipsy Catcus, which is a really cool brewery I also checked out while I was waiting for my order. This is a really chill brewery, and not a huge spot. Maybe 8 to 10 high top tables with bar seating, and a mostly open floor plan. They have a small patio too, with what looks like about another tables but because I visited at night, nobody was outside. They also seem to be extremely dog friendly as they had one table with a really chill cocker spaniel completely laid out on his side in the middle of the floor. I'm not sure how many taps they had in total, but definitely more than 40 I would say. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I ordered a cider. The cider I was served was on tap and really tasty. And it definitely hit the spot of terms of price point. One thing to note, while I was talking to the owner/manager of the tipsy cactus (shout to him because he was really cool), he told me that Friday night and Saturday nights are usually popping so I wouldn't expect to be first in line on any of those nights. It also looks like they rotate food trucks on different nights, so don't assume that the cheesesteak truck is going to be here every night. I would check the tipsy cactus website, or Instagram page to be sure. I'll definitely be looking forward to checking this place out again in the future, especially if I'm hitting one of the food trucks parked outside.

Chupacabra was open, was a three-minute drive, and had excellent reviews. So my decision was made. I parked on the street for free a minute away on foot. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical beer bar. Relatively small inside, but they also have a patio out front with picnic style seating. Casual. My type of bar. My only complaint? I hate picnic style seating because it doesn't give you back support. Which made me want to avoid the patio. Service (5/5): Super friendly service. The guy working the bar did a great job. I ordered one beer and called it a night. A seamless experience from beginning to end. They also have complimentary water in a water cooler, which is always a nice ou Food (N/A): I read they have food trucks, but I didn't see any when I visited. I had dinner prior anyway. Drinks (4.5/5): I love trying new beers and Chupacabra has an excellent selection. They have a rotating screen above the bar. Some interesting brews, ranging from local craft brews to quality European beers. This is not the type of place that has your typical assortment of mediocre beers. You'll find a lot better here. Overall, a cool spot in downtown Mesa. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in the neighborhood!

This is my at-least-once-a-month spot for catching up with friends, popping in solo, or grabbing a "just one drink" that may or may not turn into two. The beer selection is massive, borderline intimidating, and the wine list rotates often, which I love. Pro tip: don't play beer roulette unless you enjoy surprises that might hurt your feelings. Instead, tell the bartender what you like and they'll work their magic, usually with a taste so you don't commit to something you regret. As a wine drinker, I especially appreciate when they suggest something I wouldn't normally order and absolutely nail it. The vibe is casual but a sort of kind of sexy (weird). The dim lighting, great energy, and zero pressure might be it. Bar seating up front, games if you're feeling social, and high tables in the back for groups or communal mingling. It's the kind of place where you can settle in... or pop in, pop out, and still feel satisfied without spending your rent money. They have small bites like grilled cheese and occasional cheese plates, but let's be honest, this is not a food destination, and that's perfectly fine. My beer-loving friends can happily sample half the menu while I sip a perfectly chilled Sauvignon Blanc and judge none of it. And finally, the real MVPs: the bartenders. Always friendly, always helpful, always down to chat, especially if you're there solo (hi, it's me again!). They'll listen to you ramble, offer great suggestions, and somehow make you feel like a regular even if you're just stopping in briefly. Reliable, fun, unpretentious, and consistently solid.
