    Raw meat next to sodas

Walked in to order and this place is a health code violation mess - saw the dirt, grime and improperly stored items - including the raw meat stored next to their beverages for guests. Crazy!!! Good luck to all who eat here!

Chicken fried rice and chicken for sweet & sour chicken. Not good.

I ordered lunch for pickup today since Chinese sounded good, & it's really close to my work. I ordered online for pickup at 11:30. The girl was friendly and helpful. She confirmed my name & brought my food out right away. My food was ready a little bit early. I ordered Crab Rangoon, & the lunch Sweet & Sour chicken. It comes with rice. I paid $1.50 more for chicken fried rice. It also comes with your choice of soup. I got the wonton soup. The food was hot. The wonton soup was really good. The sweet & sour sauce was good. It was thick & had a good flavor. The Crab Rangoon was not what I expected. They were huge. I didn't love the dough it was made of. It was kind of like an egg roll type, but it was a thicker dough. The filling was really good, & there was a good amount of it inside them. The rice was not very good. Some of it was hard. It was also dry. The chicken was tender, but had no flavor. The chicken for the sweet & sour chicken was not good. It was hard to chew & stringy. This was my first time try this place, & I'm afraid it will be my last.

We continue to look for a good Chinese restaurant. We have lived here for two years and have not been unable to find one. If anyone knows of one please send me a message. Based on the reviews and the ratings we thought we would try hot wok as we had just exited the Home Depot in the same shopping plaza. The reviews we had read did not seem to correspond with our experience. This business is a very basic Chinese restaurant. Certainly no thrills. Very plain interior. The meals are served on paper plates with plastic utensils. The order taker is very monotone. No greeting or anything. He could care less whether you eat there or not. My wife ordered the sweet-and-sour pork but as you can see from the picture all you get is breaded pork. No red peppers. No green peppers. No onions. No pineapple. It is served with a sweet-and-sour sauce in a separate container. I ordered the lemon chicken but it's just thickly breaded chicken. You get a side container of the lemon sauce. Not very appealing. Both orders came with a side of white rice on a paper plate. The food has no flavor. Very bland. We ended up leaving half of our food when we left. We just didn't find it appealing enough to continue eating

The chicken fried rice was ok but I probably won't eat it again. I've never had "New York Style" Chinese before so this was my first time trying, it's not very flavorful like other restaurants. Also, not that this is a big deal but I thought the rice would come in a plastic white container, at least that's what advertised at the restaurant... but it came in a tin foil.

Okay, they might not look the prettiest, but they were very tasty and juicy. Then we ordered the Spicy Beef, Tripe & Tendon; They were flavorful, not too spicy, and had a slight sweetness that we could taste. We also ordered the Sour & Spicy Chicken Gizzard, which was perfect with rice. We also got the Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet, and that ended up being my favorite dish; Crispy, flavorful, and not overcooked at all. We also ordered the Hot and Sour Soup and the Beef Stew Noodle Soup. Both were delicious. We really enjoyed our meal, and this definitely feels like a legit spot. We'll be back to try more dishes next time.

I had been here while I was in college years ago, and the place looks totally new inside. It's more modern and light than the previous dark red aesthetic it had before. It was a fun new vibe. While we all three split the food, we each had leftovers to take home. My favorite was the spicy schechuan chicken which left a tingly feeling in my mouth but had the best taste! I liked how crispy the chicken was. Our server came around multiple times to refill my water which was great. We sat and chatted for a while which they had no problem with. There's plenty of tables inside which are big if you want to bring a larger group. This is a good, tasty, casual spot for dinner.

Otherwise it's takeout. We went on Sunday at opening time, party of 6, first ones at the door for our reserved table. Lovely older woman handling the whole dining room. Another table came at the same time, there were probably 8 people incl kids. And another 2 gentlemen came in. It took over an hour before she took our orders. It took at least 30 min for our food to trickle out of the kitchen. It took another 30 minutes after we ate to get our bills paid. We were running out of things to talk about it took so long! The food wasn't great, there's hardly a vegetable in anything! we all ordered fried rice but it looked nothing like fried rice on our combo plates, not a single veggie or shred of egg in it. Those that had plain rice said it was better. We asked for chili crisp, she gave us a container of chili oil and a container with crushed red pepper, yet they had jars of chili crisp for sale. The server really was a gem, but the food and wait times were NOT. Nope, not for me.

The flavor is phenomenal. Only thing is, I wish they were a little crispier but I'm sure you could request that upon ordering. Fried rice and noodles are also delicious! The Chicken Sheng Jian Bao was good, but the breading a little thicker than I personally like. This felt more like a dessert with the sesame bottom. Good taste, just heavy. Felt like we were rushed a bit and we're asked several times if we were done. There were empty tables, so that knocked it from the higher 3.5 side to the lower. Yelp is a flat star rating.
