Chicken fried rice and chicken for sweet & sour chicken. Not good.
Carla N.

I ordered lunch for pickup today since Chinese sounded good, & it's really close to my work. I ordered online for pickup at 11:30. The girl was friendly and helpful. She confirmed my name & brought my food out right away. My food was ready a little bit early. I ordered Crab Rangoon, & the lunch Sweet & Sour chicken. It comes with rice. I paid $1.50 more for chicken fried rice. It also comes with your choice of soup. I got the wonton soup. The food was hot. The wonton soup was really good. The sweet & sour sauce was good. It was thick & had a good flavor. The Crab Rangoon was not what I expected. They were huge. I didn't love the dough it was made of. It was kind of like an egg roll type, but it was a thicker dough. The filling was really good, & there was a good amount of it inside them. The rice was not very good. Some of it was hard. It was also dry. The chicken was tender, but had no flavor. The chicken for the sweet & sour chicken was not good. It was hard to chew & stringy. This was my first time try this place, & I'm afraid it will be my last.

White rice served on a paper plate.

We continue to look for a good Chinese restaurant. We have lived here for two years and have not been unable to find one. If anyone knows of one please send me a message. Based on the reviews and the ratings we thought we would try hot wok as we had just exited the Home Depot in the same shopping plaza. The reviews we had read did not seem to correspond with our experience. This business is a very basic Chinese restaurant. Certainly no thrills. Very plain interior. The meals are served on paper plates with plastic utensils. The order taker is very monotone. No greeting or anything. He could care less whether you eat there or not. My wife ordered the sweet-and-sour pork but as you can see from the picture all you get is breaded pork. No red peppers. No green peppers. No onions. No pineapple. It is served with a sweet-and-sour sauce in a separate container. I ordered the lemon chicken but it's just thickly breaded chicken. You get a side container of the lemon sauce. Not very appealing. Both orders came with a side of white rice on a paper plate. The food has no flavor. Very bland. We ended up leaving half of our food when we left. We just didn't find it appealing enough to continue eating

The chicken fried rice was ok but I probably won't eat it again. I've never had "New York Style" Chinese before so this was my first time trying, it's not very flavorful like other restaurants. Also, not that this is a big deal but I thought the rice would come in a plastic white container, at least that's what advertised at the restaurant... but it came in a tin foil.

Some food spots never leave your heart... and Little Szechuan is one of them!…read more It had been FOUR years since my last visit, back when I was pregnant with my first, and let's just say I was absolutely obsessed with this place! I finally made my way back, and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. I ordered the dumplings, crab puffs, and moo shu beef, and everything was a solid 10/10! Each dish hit the spot, and it was such a treat getting to enjoy some longtime favorites again. But honestly, the sweetest part of my visit was the owner. She is the kindest, sweetest woman, and the fact that she actually remembered me after FOUR YEARS absolutely melted my heart! There's something so special about a local restaurant where the food is delicious, but the people make the experience even more memorable. Little Szechuan is a perfect reminder of why supporting small, local businesses matters. Between the amazing food and the genuine hospitality, this place still has my heart. Needless to say, I won't be waiting another four years to come back!

This place appears to be one of them mom and pop shop that's been here for a while.. Friendly lady and first customer for the day it seems. I didn't know what to order but the lady recommended Kung pao chicken if I have never been here. So i got the lunch special. Can't go wrong with Kung pao and at least I know if that dish is yummy rest would follow. So I get my lunch specially which came with scoop of rice (choice of white or fried). Portion looked on the small side but oh well. Take my first bite and I am greeted with this strong sour taste. I'm thinking to myself, man it's been a while since I had Kung pao dish, I don't ever remember being this sour. Couple more bite and yup, it was like eating a sweet and sour chicken without the sweet. Had some chillies but dish had no heat what so ever. I was so disappointed how bad it tasted. Of course since I was hungry I ate the dish. I noticed more people came to eat after I got my food and it appears lot of return customers, which is nice. But this place was definitely not for me.. You know it's bad again, when I'm thinking to myself, panda express version is way better. Oh well, I won't be coming back here again.

When we got there the place was small and fairly busy but we were able to be seated quicker than I thought. I was surprised how quickly the food came out as we did order 9 dishes in which all of them were tasty! The server was welcoming and provided proactive service. He was always around to refill our drinks and take any empty dishes off our table. I don't know if we were just all hungry but all the food was yummy! My favs were the stir fry eggplant and minced pork with garlic sauce + Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet. They had a lot on the menu that I have yet to try. Overall our family was satisfied with the dishes we tried and the service was great!

Try these and see what they should REALLY taste like. 10/10 Secondly, the orange chicken ACTUALLY tastes like real, fresh orange!! Not overly sweet and doughy like most places. The flavor is phenomenal. Only thing is, I wish they were a little crispier but I'm sure you could request that upon ordering. Fried rice and noodles are also delicious! First time I got the dumplings there, and second time had them delivered. Equally delicious- which I was worried about. Just so you know! :)

My favorite is actually the lu rou which is a very home style recipe that I crave frequently and it's executed perfectly every time. The dan dan noodles are very authentic but I prefer Americanized. If you like Szechwan peppers then it might be a dish for you. Obviously the soup dumplings are the highlight and rightfully so.

We started with the cucumber salad, which was wonderfully crisp and refreshing, followed by the spicy wontons. Those were a particular highlight, with a beautifully aromatic sauce featuring an almost licorice-like herbal note and just enough heat to keep things interesting. The chicken xiao long bao were delicate, savory, and filled with flavorful broth. We also tried the sheng jian bao combo, which had pillowy-soft tops and beautifully crisp, sesame-studded bottoms without any excess oiliness. The restaurant can get busy, but the kiosk waitlist makes the process straightforward, and service was attentive once seated. A satisfying little dumpling destination that punches well above its price point!
