The husband and I was craving some fried rice and we decided to try this place out based on how good the photo looked on yelp. Thank goodness we were not disappointed! My partner in crime copied my order chicken fried rice medium spicy. He usually likes it really hot but of course with this being our first time here he didn't want to jump the gun on it. It turned out to be pretty spicy usually considered hot at other Thai restaurants but I made it thanks to drink refills. Husband was happy too. Overall I think it's a great value for lunch. They had lunch specials even on a Sunday which most restaurants don't offer. Our total came to $18 with 2 fried rice lunch special and 2 diet cokes. As a lunch special we got a spring roll and salad. Didn't care much for the salad dressing but the spring roll is delicious just wish it was a little bigger. Service is a little slow but there was only one waitress working so we were patient I was too busy eating to care anyway. read more

The Thai Herb is located in a shopping mall - strip mall type of place, so there is plenty of parking. From the outside it sure dosen't look like much. On the inside I was pleasantly surprised. The place is clean and neat. Very nice decor. Plenty of room to move around and even an interesting bar area. The service was super nice and friendly with help on the menu, recommendations, and information on the spice level. Let me tell you, the spice here is no joke. You pick the level from 1-6. Anything over 3 is insanity. They make their own spice here. It's not some mass produced bagged spice. This is something you wont find just anywhere. The menu has lots of choices and they can be customized for you. Traditional Thai dishes, and some hibachi and stir fry type of things. The appetizers are not to be over looked, the dumplings with chicken are good enough to stand on their own. Drinks have a lot of choices, with the usual suspects, and some wine and Thai beer also. I had the Pad Thai with chicken and it was cooked to order, very hot and fresh. The spice level had me sweating, but it was very good indeed. All in all I really enjoyed my visit and would highly recommend this place to anyone. I'd call this little place one of the true hidden gems in High Point. I'm a long time and loyal client of Singha II, but since I was in the other part of town, and the Singha II quality went down lately I thought I will give Thai Herb a try. I have ordered EXTRA spicy vegan red curry with tofu. The curry was very watery, not spicy at all, and it had ENTIRE 3 cubes of tofu. My lucky day I guess, 3 is a lucky number right ? Delicious, affordable lunch menu with items @6.99. They are very flexible in preparing your food the way you want it (doesn't have to be a menu item). My kid had tofu and rice. The tofu was lightly fried on the outside. The inside was perfectly firm and still moist. I had sweet and sour Thai chicken. It is not panko fried, it is a vegetable stir fry with sweet being pineapples. It was balanced with a very spicy (my choice) tangy sauce and a serving of white rice. Don't waste your time new owners don't have a clue what they are doing. Got there at 12:15 with a party of 4 we got water and salad in 15 minutes. At 1:05 cook from kitchen comes out and asked what we ordered. We finally got our food at 1:20 and it was about halve what they use to serve and no spring roll. Tasty food; friendly staff. I get a bit disappointed when the food isn't exactly what I ordered. I requested no green bell peppers in my dish. I was told "no problem" but somehow, the translation didn't get to the cook. So I picked out the peppers. I showed them to the waitress and she offered, of course to take my dish back to get it right. I really, really want it right the first time. I made an online order for the 'Drunken Noodles w/Vegetables' along with Vegetable Egg Rolls. The Veg Rolls were fine, but the 'Drunken Noodles' were awful. They were Tremendously overcooked very mushy consistency and unusually greasy/oily. I couldn't eat it had to throw it out. I ordered panang curry beef for lunch and the husband ordered chicken Pad Thai. My dish was delicious but his was so-so. The panang curry was not on the menu because they took out the stuff thats not popular, but I was told that they had everything needed for the entrée (as well as whatever other entrées got taken off the menu). In recent memory, this is probably the 4th Thai restaurant that's been in this location. Thai Herb is terribly, terribly disappointing. I've been here 3 times and I want to like it, but just can't. Service is decent, but it doesn't make up for the unharmonious food. Their pad thai tastes like straight-up peanut butter and noodles, their stir-frys are boring, and their curry is just okay. And the biggest surprise of all is the toilet stalls--they don't have doors; instead they have long shower curtains that drop to the floor. Good luck finding out if there's someone in there!! Whenever I come to High Point, I always go to this Thai place-- they have the best drinks, service, atmosphere, and food. The waitstaff is always super friendly and accommodating to my specific food requests. My colleague and I both came here for lunch on a weekday and we each ordered a rice dish-- I ordered mine with brown rice. Then we got the papaya salad to share and that was a lot of salad we couldn't even finish half of it. Come during happy hour when they have really good deals. The restaurant was easy to find. We were quick to sit at a table since there was only one other couple there at 6pm on a Sunday. Our orders came out pretty quick but they were not as described. We ordered a salmon roll for us to share as it was advertised with nine pieces. It arrived and only had 8 portions. I ordered stir fry chicken and cashew. It arrived without cashews. When I told the server she promptly brought some cold cashews to add and made the comment that the cook did add them but they were nowhere to be found. Thai Herb is yummy! I love this place, it's located in a small shopping center and the actual restaurant is small but the staff is friendly, the food is great and it's reasonably priced. I am a vegetarian, so I am happy that they have a "vegetarian corner" on the menu, which includes tons of choices with tofu. The other awesome thing about this place is that they deliver. I travel to High Point twice a year for the furniture market, and what I like the most is that they are fairly close but not too close to the market center. I know, it sounds confusing! What I mean is that is not so close that you can expect a super long line to get a table, and not so far that you don't want to drive all the way there. I visit this restaurant at least twice per trip and I will continue to do so. read more

I ordered their massaman curry for pick-up since I didn't have time to sit down in the restaurant. It was ready right away and was SO delicious. Massaman curry is one of my favorite curries since it's typically on the sweeter side with just a hint of spiciness depending on how to order it, and they did not disappoint. I was excited to try this restaurant and came in with my son to wait on my husband to meet us. I stood in line to be seated and the waitress went to seat the couple behind me whom it seemed she knew, thankfully the man spoke up and told her I was here first. The lady took us to a table and I asked if we could have a booth since my son (18m) does not like to sit in a high chair, she said "we don't have any booths, look around." Even thought there was a half booth/ half table in the back, I said ok and waited on a high chair which was brought about 5m later. I waited 5-10 more mins and no one ever came to get our drink order or brought a menu even though we were sitting right in front of the kitchen, my son was upset, and waitresses were passing by, so we got up and left and went to a Japanese restaurant down the road which was awesome. read more
