Mango Bango, Spicy Crab, and Volcano Rolls. Delicious!!!

Truly a hidden gem in Pafftown on the border with Winston Salem. From the moment you walk in you are greeted and treated like family by the owners Coco, Adi & their staff. The sushi is incredible and the traditional dishes are exotic and bursting with flavors. They will cook every dish to your liking of spice level as well as add or remove any veggies you may not like....onions for me! The restaurant is inviting with wood tones and tweaks of Thai art. Low lighting with soothing music I. The background. There are two TVs to catch sporting events. You can sit at the bar and watch the sushi prepared as you sip on your favorite Sake. There are plenty of booths and tables to accommodate large groups. Make your way out to the edge of town and indulge in some traditional Thai cuisine!

It's always a pleasure coming here for a relaxing time. The service Management and the Servers provide is amazing. You're treated like family here. Can't say enough about the food. Every dish is incredible. Menu has a large variety of sushi and Thai dishes. They also offer great wine and beer options. Overall love coming here to enjoy some great food and relax.

Tempura Soft Shell Crab - on a nest of tempura vegetables

This fine Thai restaurant has a varied menu that includes a number of traditional Thai dishes as well as numerous Sushi options! This spot is rather small with a clean dining area, a small bar (6 or 7 bar seats) - it is dimly lit, with soft instrumental music playing. The service is consistently on point, attentive but there is no hovering! On entering you are quickly greeted and seated, supplied with a menu, and your beverage choice is requested. On this day, I ordered my favorite appetizer, Tempura Soft Shell Crab to be followed by their Sizzling Rib Eye platter. I was brought a small complimentary cup of a nice Vegetable Soup with a rich broth and a nice veggies, cubed potatoes , and a little tofu. I also was served my beverage choice, a nice Thai beer, Singha. The Tempura Soft Shell Crab dish consists of 2 crabs resting in a nest of nicely done tempura vegetables. The crabs were perfect finger food, just pull them apart and chow down. The vegetables were no less perfect - the onions were especially awesome! The Ribeye had a nice flavor but the entire dish was greasy to a point that was most unpleasant! I would not reorder this dish. There is much on this menu that is exceptional, this dish was just not one of them! I was craving Thai food, so I decided to give this place a try. I was torn between a couple of menu items, so I decided to get a bento box. I placed a to-go order at lunch, so Bento box A was a lunch special. It was a California roll, Pad Thai, a Spring roll, and salad. The California roll was packed separately, but was placed on top of my of my entrée and it was a little warm by the time I got home. I like my sushi cold, so this was a bad start for me. Then they served the salad on the same plate with the entre and spring roll and didn't provide any dressing or ask if I wanted any. I also prefer my salad cold so I didn't eat it. The stuffing inside of the spring roll was mushy. A total turn off when you're depending on the spring roll for a crunch factor! The sweet chili sauce I was served with was very watered down. Finally, the pad Thai. It was average. No additional comments. For $13, I wasn't impressed with my order. I'm not sure if I'd try them again.

Chiang Mai Thai has a large menu full of Asian inspired dishes on their website. Chiang Mail Thai is one of the places we go to if we want a take out sushi meal. The sushi is good, and the quality is pretty consistent. The other dishes we have ordered from Chiang Mai Thai have been pretty good as well.

I've been coming here for a while, it is truly our family's favorite. We walk in and Ari and Coco know us by name. They know our favorite dishes and drink. It is perfect for date night or family time. There is always a piano tune in the background that just makes you feel at ease with your meal. Truly recommend! Our family's favorite dishes are from start to finish- Edamame's, Gyoza, #60 Sizzling Shrimp and Scallop, kids favorite is Chicken Lomein no veggie's and Sushi Lovers Roll

Well my first sushi experience in North Carolina left a lot to be desired. This place was recommended by a non Yelp friend who said she hadn't been here in a while but it was good when she came My wife got the Pad Thai and liked it. However the sushi was just okay. The best roll I got I think was called a Mt. Fuji roll, but even though it looked great the overall flavors of it were just okay. Service was fine, maybe I expected more compared to California sushi.

hand rolls - (L to R) salmon skin, BBQ eel, salmon
    Lisa S.

I think I've found my sushi place. I haven't had a salmon skin hand roll since moving to the South, although I have wondered why I haven't seen hand rolls ANYwhere in the area until now. They're simple enough to make, but I have missed them and have asked in not a few places about getting them. Chang Mai is the first place I've seen them on the menu in the Triad. Also, while I love a spider roll and would have ordered it gladly, I spotted soft shell crab as an appetizer for a dollar less and was gleefully delighted to receive a pair of soft shell crabs on a generous bed of tempura veggies. They were pretty small (it is nearly October, about as far away from soft shell season as it gets), so I wouldn't be surprised if in season you get one normal sized one instead. Gotta come back with hubs sometime soon; they have a wide menu of noodle and rice and udon noodle entrees which will please him; he doesn't do sushi so it's great to find a place that does platters as well.

I called in for an order and the person who answered the phone was so nice and the food was ready exactly at the time I asked for. The food was amazing I'll be there soon since I'm already the way. The food was still hot and fresh like Omgosh their staff is amazing and sweet. I hope they have a good shift everyday they really deserve it.

#49Pad Woon Sen with Tofu Decent amount of tofu but would have preferred more broccoli and less peppers and onions.

Small(ish) Thai place in a strip mall beside Food Lion in Pfafftown. Good selection of lunch specials that included a small veggie spring roll and white rice. 1 star off for sticky tables and hot sauce bottles.

We were promptly greeted upon entering and shown to our table. The restaurant was about 75% full of other patrons and the dining room was clean and comfortable. Along with regular tables, there was limited seating at the sushi bar. As we began looking over the menu, our server made us aware of the lunch specials on the back page, which was greatly appreciated. I went with the Teriyaki Beef and my wife had the Hibachi Chicken. I chose the side salad with the house ginger dressing and my wife had the miso soup. Both of us went with white rice. Our sides came out pretty quick, and once we finished our sides, our entrees came out like clockwork. The Teriyaki Beef with accompanying vegetables tasted great, but I felt the portion size of both could have been larger. Still, it was a good value. Now, the portion size of the Hibachi Chicken with vegetables was much better, and it may be my choice next time. I want to mention that the sushi I saw being delivered to other tables looked pretty amazing, so the Hibachi Chicken may have to wait. Service was excellent throughout our visit. The only suggestion would be some soft background authentic Japanese music to add to the experience.

Hanes Mill Rd, this gem is housed in the same spot where the Hwy 55 burger joint was (I sure miss them). Parking is shared with other area merchants, and since it's quite a distance from Walmart's entrance, finding a space is not a problem. The restaurant is well-lit, comfortable and clean. We were promptly greeted and shown to a table. The menu had a great selection of ramen, bento, and sushi. While I was leaning towards sushi, I opted for the chicken katsu bento. The food came out quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size. Definitely a good value in my opinion. The only disappointment was their take on fried rice, which seemed more like a dirty rice you would get at Popeye's. Honestly, I think white rice would have been a better pairing for this dish. Great service throughout our visit and we're keeping this one on the short list.

We were originally planning to hit up our usual AYCE spot in Greensboro but didn't want to deal with the wait, so we decided to try Kimono since it's closer to home. Big mistake. Let's start with the rolls - they're basically rice bombs with a hint of fish somewhere in there. If you're into eating mostly rice with your sushi, then jackpot! But if you're looking for that perfect rice-to-fish ratio and fresh, vibrant flavors that good sushi should have, keep driving. The quality is barely a step above what you'd grab from Harris Teeter's sushi counter, and I'm being generous here. The only saving grace was our server, who was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. But friendly service can't make up for mediocre food, especially when the bill hits $120 for three people. At that price point, you expect way better quality. Bottom line: Save your money and make the drive to a better spot. There are too many good sushi places in the Triad to settle for this.
