    Hibachi chicken
    Katlyn C.

I have thought of trying this place for some time but the exterior always deterred me. However, I'm glad we gave them a chance! The inside was much nicer than the strip mall it is located in. I placed a to go order and every employee I encountered inside was so kind. My husband tried a poke bowl (which not a lot of places near us have, so he was pleased), I got hibachi chicken (tasted better than it looked) and also tried some sushi. I did not love the sushi, but would be willing to try another roll once more! I didn't love the way the chicken is cut (I know that's silly), but thankfully it was good! Overall, it was a pleasant first experience!

Sunset roll(back) and sweet and sour roll(front)

If you love japanese food you have found Lexington's Japanese gem ! The quality of food, service and experience is unmatched! The servers always treat customers like friends and family. Fuji moto consistently releases new menu items, keeping things fresh! Give them a try and you won't go anywhere for sushi and Japanese food again!

Legend roll. Pretty good, but very big pieces that fall apart.

I really wanted to like this place a lot, because it is a 3 minute drive from my house (I timed it), but unfortunately our first experience was very disappointing. We decided to stay local and get takeout during the Coronavirus craze, so we decided to give this place a shot. I called my order in at 4:05 for a sashimi deluxe and 3 specialty sushi rolls. Tropical roll sounded interesting on the menu, stating it includes kiwi. I was hesitant for that, but curiosity won in this case. They open at 4 on Saturday, called my order in at 4:05, got told 25-30 minutes. I left the house at 4:30 and walked in at 4:33. Upon entry, the place looks clean. I saw in another review stating about Mexican restaurant decor, but this is no longer the case. It looks pretty inviting inside, aside of some rusty spots in the old drop ceiling. Seats looked comfy, but I was getting takeout. I was greeted right away by the hostess (likely the owner too). My food wasn't ready quite yet, but I paid my almost $70 and sat about 10 more minutes or so to wait. I noted the 95 sanitation rating from Feb 2020. A couple nearby were waiting on their hibachi, which I'm guessing they were having for the first time, as they could not properly pronounce "hibachi." My food came out with a smile and well wishes, and I went home. Now, for the quality of the food. The sushi rolls were fair to midland I would say, which is about what I expected. I've had grocery store and homemade sushi that was on the same level or better than this. That's about what I expected. 2 stars though because the tropical roll, while decent, did not contain the kiwi that the menu claims it should. The Godzilla roll was good but too much seaweed salad for my taste. I'm not big on seaweed salad, but my wife is a fan. The legend roll was a tasty mess that was gigantic and fell apart on me. The "sashimi deluxe" deserves its own paragraph because it was a joke. Thankfully, my daughter only likes salmon sashimi, because she got plenty of it. If I was eating this dish myself, I would've gone back to complain. I think some of the time I spent waiting was the "chef" hoping that the sashimi would defrost some. The fish must have just come out of the freezer at 4 because it was all still frozen blocks in the middle. Had to wait to defrost. No variety either, as it contained several pieces of salmon, tuna, and a few pieces of red snapper. No yellow tail, no white fish, no mackerel. No excitement. And the salmon tasted a bit fishier than I would expect, so not great at all. Probably was frozen for quite some time. I'm not one to nitpick about uniform cuts either, but these pieces were laughable for sashimi. I can't speak on the quality of their hibachi, but the sushi and sashimi was grocery store quality at premium restaurant prices. We paid nearly $70 with tax, and we did not get our money's worth. It's a shame, but I don't think I'll be back.

Supposedly spicy tuna. It's a tuna roll with the sauce on top. the chef is too lazy to mix the tuna and sauces together

You walk in and it looks great! Locals had recommended it. That's where it ends. I had to walk back into the kitchen to get service. The clear soup was the best I've ever had. Ordered the spicy tuna.. no. It was tuna with sauce on top. Pure. Laziness. If the "sushi chef" is too lazy to mix the sauces -then make the roll. But no just make a tuna roll and put the sauce on top. Laziness. (I'll include pic). This is a first. I didn't finish. Just wanted to leave. Then AGAIN I had to go back into the kitchen to get ANY server so I could paid my bill. Sorry. Go to a grocery store. You'll get better service, and higher quality sushi. Except for the clear soup. That was delicious.

    Big Papa and California roll.

Not bad at all. Our first visit was tonight. We ordered the spring rolls (sauce is a bit too spicy for my taste but other than that it was good), 2 sushi rolls (the California roll and the big papa) and 2 entrees (steak and steak & chicken combo). It was me, hubby and our 10 and 3 year old. Soup was kind of bland but not horrible. Salad was small but just enough. I got the ginger dressing - great taste. Sushi was made fresh and tasted great. I love sushi :) haha. Entrees were a good size and were fresh, too. We were able to share it all and have leftovers. Friendly waitresses. Cute decor. Not too big. They are closed on Mondays. The only thing I snapped a picture of was the sushi. For all that it was $56 plus tip (of course). Not bad at all. We'll be back!

We decided to try it. I ordered Hibachi Chicken and Carolyn had Teriyaki Chicken. Both were served with fried rice, sweet carrots, and a mixture of squash, zucchini, onions, and broccoli. Portions were ample. The chicken (breast)was cooked perfectly. The flavor was a bit bland. Could have used a little salt, and more sauce. The rice had good flavor, but was a touch undercooked. We just prefer "sticky" rice. The carrots were soft and delicious. Just a little sweetness - just right. The mixed veggies were well cooked, a little al dente, but that's the way I like jt. Food was served on styrofoam plates, which is ok. Plastic forks, however, need to be larger and more sturdy. The place is new. Maybe the flavor will come in time. We might be back, but were disappointed the BBQ is gone.

My wife got the steak hibachi. Ditto. The chicken and the steak were very well cooked. The pan fried gyoza were good and the sauce had a bit of punch to it. There are a few reasons beyond the food that I won't likely be coming back. 1. Syrofoam plates and cups even for dine in. Wasteful. 2. Fox News playing on the TV. No thanks. 3. Christian radio playing over the speakers. Don't need it. I understand they are trying to fit in with bright red Mocksville and can't fault them for that. It's just not for me.

The lady who took my order was very friendly and my order came out pretty quick! I peeked in the rooms and saw the standard hibachi grills and many families enjoying their dinners. Arrive on the 23rd my husband told them we had a reservation and they stated they don't take reservations I must have called the wrong location. I whipped out my call history. December 3rd 11 minutes. Oh yeah we had a new girl that day, wtf? One hour twenty minutes for my birthday dinner. They sat a party of EIGHT with us leaving us with 15 chairs. One person ate in their lap. Nobody seemed to give a crap. So I did not go for a few months. But Sunday May 3rd took the 13 year old for a family birthday dinner. Party of six we were sat with a party of three. We made friends quick because service was horrible minimum of three but usually 5 repeats by each of us for every part of our order. She got my sushi order wrong after 5 repeats of what I wanted until finally the sous chef brought what I ordered. I asked for spicy mayo for my sushi. I believe it was four times while the waitress informed me that there was no such thing but they had spicy mustard. I said can you just let the dude know that I want spicy mayo that's making the sushi with her attitude she walked off. I ordered unsweetened tea and Splenda then had to ask for Splenda all the way till my actual main course My daughter had to repeat her salad order so many times she simply got annoyed. After my daughter ordered, I looked at the waitress, and I said will you be asking us what kind of dressing we wanted on our salads as no one at the table had given their dressing type? She said oh yeah, I guess not even sure what that means. So I'm done gratuity added because we were 6 people. I'm a great tipper so I'm sure she did not get what I would've left, but I'm positive she got more than she deserved
