Stopped in for dinner recently. This has always been on one of my favorite places to get Thai. It's been a long time since I've had the chance to visit, but it still remains a nice, quiet, quaint spot, great for a nice date night Service is quick and friendly, though they seem to be very short staffed. I got my favorite, which is yellow curry. The flavor was just as I was hoping, as delicious as ever. Only complaint, is their pricing has gotten very expensive. So we really wanted to love this place. The reviews were promising as were the photos. I have to be honest though, what you get for the price is definitely not worth it. We can't justify going here again. Appetizers: Crab Rangoon: interesting take. It's not your typical crab Rangoon, but looks more homemade. It was shaped like an empanada than the traditional star shape. Fresh spring rolls. Lacked flavor: maybe needed more Thai basil. The peanut sauce was hands down the worst I've had. It was way to runny. Had to pour it over the roll. This too lacked flavor. Entrees: Pad Thai. At least it wasn't orange, which is something I've seen a lot in the Triad. The chicken was dry. The flavor was okay. Good amount of food. Masaman curry. Looked very pale and tasted like way too sweet cloves. With this, it was still bland. It lacked everything I love about curry. Actually had to pull out some curry from my pantry to make it enjoyable. Pineapple fried rice: most expensive pineapple rice I've had, and I've had expensive pineapple fried rice in California that was served in a pineapple half. I expected it to be top notch. Although it did have the best flavor of the other dishes, still not worth the price. Typically, I'm able to choose if I want chicken in it, but this I guess comes with standard shrimp. My dad loves Thai food, and I'm on the hunt for a great Thai restaurant for when he visits. I really enjoy how Singha II offers weekend lunch specials! The service is good and the portions are large. From the lunch special, I had the pad see ew with tofu. Pad see ew is a stir-fried jumbo rice noodle with garlic, carrot, broccoli, egg and Thai sweet black soy sauce. It was pretty good! The meal also came with an egg roll and small soup. You have the option of ordering it spicy (mild, medium, extra hot). I ordered it medium and it was the perfect amount of spice. If you're not sure about the spice level I would suggest to get mild and then add on more spice as needed. read more

I miss working nearby and being able to stop in for lunch. I had to run an errand in Hight Point yesterday so I thought "where could I pick up dinner"? Then I remembered Singha. I couldn't decide between pad Thai with shrimp and Panang curry with crispy tofu but then I the bright idea to get both and have some for the next day. It was more than plenty of each remaining (I HAD to have a portion of each last night!). The flavors are so good even the reheated serving. We have been doing business with this establishment for countless years. We ALWAYS celebrate my Daughter's birthday there in or to go-birthday tradition. One year the Owners even let us borrow ornaments and flags for her party. They used to deliver and knew me well. Sinus infections need Tom Kha spicy. So again, my Daughter's Birthday. New Owners. Called at 2:30 and was denied for lunch. Told to call back at 5. Made an order with their delivery service at 5 and was told it would be delivered in 85 minutes. Called and spoke to owner. She said if we could drive up there if would be ready in 5-10 minutes. (I can't drive because I have a heart condition and neurological issue.) Ordered Tom Kha and it was great. Yellow curry was great. Ground chicken basil was a hot mess. Mostly veggies, no basil and bland. read more

The food at medium spice had a healthy kick to it. Different flavors burst into every mouthful. The mango fish special was outstanding. Red curry was served with smaller bay scallops rather than more flavorful sea scallops but delicious nonetheless. All in all, I hidden gem. I have been a customer since the middle of the pandemic lockdown. My coworkers, longer. They introduced me. I don't know much about Thai cuisine, but everything I have tried has been exquisite. The texture, flavor, colors. They really know what they are doing. Post-pandemic, they seem a little short-staffed, but make up for it in enthusiasm and still great food. After all the very good reviews, this was a restaurant we had to try. I was particularly interested in seeing how this place compared with other Thai restaurants in the area, which I have found to be very inconsistent, and mostly unappealing. I did find out one interesting thing from this experience - it is entirely possible that I simply do not care for the vast majority of Thai dishes. The Thai Spring Rolls (3 rolls for $3.99) were simply tasteless, and there was nothing a sauce could do to mask that. I was unable to identify the nature, much less the taste, of the items inside. The Shrimp Pad Thai ($12.95) was yet another version of this dish that I've tried, and yet another version that I simply do not care for. There is a combination of tastes and textures that I do not find at all tasty or in anyway appealing. Bangkok Chicken ($10.95) was like chicken tenders, Thai style, with a wierd sauce, and some distressed vegetables. I do not approve of this dish. Mussaman Curry ($10.95) was much more like a soup, than any curry that I've encountered - and I've encountered a few curries. Regardless of the texture, or the liquidity of the dish, there was nothing here I liked. Pork Fried Rice ($9.95) is generally a dish that is hard to screw up, but when you substitute chicken for pork, you have at least made a beginning in that dubious direction. To add insult to injury, the chicken was tasteless, and way over-cooked. Nua Yang ($7.95) is a marinated beef salad, a dry marinated beef salad - I find I do not care for dry, marinated beef salads. Huge Thai Food fanatic here. I used to live near Thai Town in Los Angeles for years and I know good quality thai at great prices. From the reviews I was looking forward to getting take out from here. Sadly, it turned out to be disappointing. I had ordered the calamari and the panang curry and I substituted the rice for noodles. I should have checked the order before I got home but I wasn't trying to stay inside the restaurant for longer than I needed to with covid and mandates. $7.99 Calamari: The Styrofoam container had a HOLE in it which didn't sit well with me. I opened it up and there were 6 tiny (not small... TINY) pieces of calamari. I was taken aback as I've never in my life had this amount of calamari served to me nor have I ever seen calamari meat that aren't rings so... tiny... You could hold all the pieces in one hand so for me that could not justify the price of $7.99. I was also disappointed that it turned out to be over cooked and rubbery. Noodles: I had substituted the noodles for rice and when I opened up this container, I was taken aback for a second time at the amount and size of the noodles. The amount was for the size of a small child and for the amount of curry I received it was not going to cover even one small serving much less the whole order. The presentation was also just very lack luster and looked like it had been thrown in. Panang Curry with vegetables: It was okay. Honestly it was runny and a little too watery; I prefer my curries to be very thick. It also lacked a full flavor and a variety of seasonings. I never do this because it takes A LOT for me to have real issues with food orders but I decided to call to see if there had been some mistake in my order or if the chef was in training or whatever plausible explanation for why including my tip I spent over $25 for bland food. I spoke to a woman who I could only presume was the same woman I paid when I went to pick up the order. She was very nice in person. On the phone, I asked her about the calamari first. I let her know the container had a hole in it and she told me it's because the container burns while waiting for the rest of the order to be made. Well, here's the thing. Styrofoam burning is not a good or safe thing. It's actually very toxic in the air for the workers and in the food for the customer. As someone who has worked years in restaurants, usually food that is waiting for the rest of the take out order is sitting under burners in pans and holding plates. Once all the food is ready, it then goes into take out containers. I then asked her about the size and quantity of the order, letting her know I received 6 tiny pieces. Her response: " We usually only give five". WOW. So i should be grateful for that one extra piece I guess? I would never pay $7.99 for such a tiny order of food-- it felt like it was tapas at best. I didn't appreciate her excuses, lack of offering solutions and a lackluster food experience so it's unlikely I'll go back to this establishment. This has been an on / off lunch spot for me. This place is located past the Panera off of Penny road. The parking is not as bad. The wait for food may take a tad longer than antipiatted. I would highly suggest if you are certain you doing a take out. Call ahead of time. We made the trot of ordering while there and it was a a 40 minute wait. The wait was worth while though. I had the Thai shrimp and pineapple rice. It was made very different than what I have been use to. I requested brown rice instead of he standard jasmine. The accommodation was made. The rice was different but a terrific combination of flavours. It had hints of curry. In addition, it had raisins sautéd Customer service was terrific! This is a fine Thai restaurant if you want excellent Thai food. I have had Thai in California, Davidson, NC, Charlotte, NC, Winston-Salem, NC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am stuck on the specialty of Spicy catfish but their curry and other specialty dinners like the duck are soothing to the tastebuds. Make sure you dine-in or take-out. I recently opened a 3 day trial for delivery and was told at the end of the trial, I could choose $99 a year or $9.99 a month. Within one hour of opening, my account was charged $99. There is no shortage of Thai restaurants in the area, so the competition is pretty tough. Came in one night at prime time to find the place completely empty. Nobody at all in here. The hostess was in the back working, and it took a few minutes for her to notice. I was ready to leave then, but stayed anyway. Inside the place is nicely decorated and cozy feeling. It was clean and well kept. The table tops had some kind of stick on fake wood, it may have even been some type of flooring, and I wasnt much on that. Get some proper table tops in here. And a door bell. The menu has typical Thai and Vietnamese offerings. Started with a fresh spring roll as an appetizer. It was ok. The shrimp were small and there was only maybe 2 in the whole thing. The sauce was terrible. I'm not sure what it was. It tasted like some old cheap soy sauce mixed with something. Just no good. Main entree I had the chicken pad thai. It was fresh and hot. There was a lack of chicken in here, with lots of noodles. The taste was also just plain and bland. Watery. With so many other choices around for Thai this is sadly in last place for me. read more

Quality was lackluster at best and the inside of the restaurant was hella dark. For the amount they're charging, you'd think you'd at least get your money's worth. Almost $20 for a plate of fried rice (that was 50% onions & cabbage!) and 4 lousy pieces of shrimp! That's barely an appetizer let alone an entree! Such a pathetic meal. Ended up throwing away my leftovers; wasn't even worth eating. Vegetable roll was just as sad. The whole damn meal was practically a deconstructed vegetable roll. Great all around! If you're dining in, the place is very clean, servers are very helpful when you're selecting dishes and are very attentive. My favorite is the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) which are SPICY! I can't really handle spicy foods so I drink like a camel trying to refill and my servers have always been on point! If you're getting takeout they make it in a jiffy and are really well priced and the portions are always enough for two people to share. My fiancé and I typically get an order of curry and pad kee mao and eat off of it for days. I always order tofu in my noodle dishes here as these are the larger cubes, not rubbery slivers of tofu like I've seen some places. Two thumbs up! read more

Authentic Thai food is difficult to come by in the small town of High Point, but this place nails it. Not only is the food absolutely incredible, but the presentation is as equally as beautiful. Scroll through the pictures and see for yourself. The staff is always helpful. At lunch, with an entree, you get a small sample of the soup of the day, as well as a small spring roll. My spouse and I love Singha II! We've been there a few times: once for lunch, and once or twice for dinner. My spouse typically gets Pad Thai, and I get the red coconut curry. My spouse loves that he can make his dish as spicy as he wants to. I love how the spice of the curry combines with the sweet, coconut milk. I think about 4 different people throughout the night came by the table to ask how everything was and/or waited me. Overall they were all friendly. For an appetizer I had the chicken Tom Yum. It definitely had a lot of onions. They need to tone it down and cut it in smaller slices and add more mushrooms. the soup was a little on the white side but the flavor was there. As for the entreé, I ordered the crispy curry duck. The flavor is definitely tasty and the duck was cooked medium but the skin was not as crispy. Maybe it's because of the curry but I was hoping it would be a little crispier. Went here for the first time last night with my dad for family weekend. We got there a little after 5 and were the first customers of the night! We ordered the fresh rolls for our appetizers. They were a nice, light way to start the meal. They were very flavorful with fresh herbs and steamed shrimp. The special chef sauce that they served on the side was delish! For our side salads (iceberg lettuce with tomato), we tried both the peanut and ginger dressings. We liked the ginger better because it was more flavorful, similar to what is served in japanese hibachi grills. I ordered the stir fry with mix vegetables (broccoli, carrot, cabbage, beansprout, snow pea, mushroom, celery and zucchini) and chicken with brown sauce. It was a really nice sized portion and was served with white jasmine rice on the side. It was pretty typical flavor wise for Asain food but I really liked the mixture of vegetables it included. My dad got the Mango Fish, which we both LOVED. It was breaded and fried thin tilipia with mango, pineapple, cilantro. It had a tropical feel to it. Was a bit spicy but very tasty. They served it with jasmine rice. Presented nicely with carrots cut into the shape of flowers and green beans as the flowers' stems. Our server was very attentive. Always filled our waters up very promptly and answered any questions we had. They had a ton of choices to order from (noodles, curry based entrees) Next time, we're both going to get a fish entree and save room for dessert!! read more

Singha is just one of three Thai places all in the Hwy 68/Penny Rd area, but frankly, it's the best. They have great lunch specials and my go to is always the yellow curry. It packs the perfect flavor of savory and sweet with a warm heat afterward. Plus, you get a spring roll and soup before your meal. Every day the soup is different. I've had tomato and chicken rice and both were good. The lunch portion of their curry is huge and always makes two meals for me easily. Don't let the fact it's tucked away in the corner on the opposite side of the hustle and bustle, make you think it's not up and coming.
