Thai Corner Kitchen is one of our favorite restaurants in town. We especially love going for their lunch specials, which are very reasonably priced. My go-to is shrimp tempura panang curry while my daughter gets the drunken pasta. We always order the duck egg rolls, which have a wonderfully unique dipping sauce, some Thai teas, and mango sticky rice for dessert of course! Ordered some to go food from Thai Corner and was pleasantly surprised! Ordered and picked up right before closing and everything was cooked fresh. We got an order of the crab wontons, spring rolls and then I got the pad Thai woonsen. The Pad Thai Woonsen was very delicious, glass noodles with chicken, bean sprouts, egg, and scallion. I made the poor decision to order medium spice and it was too spicy for myself (completely my fault, not the restaurants), but the flavor of the dish was great so I powered through, just be warned of spice level! This is a great spot for Thai food in the triad! I usually get the pad thai and really enjoy it. I think the medium spice is the perfect amount of spice and flavor, without it being too hot. They give really large portions so I'm usually able to get two meals out of one dinner. Their spring rolls are really yummy as well. We ordered delivery through Uber eats from this restaurant and the overall experience was very underwhelming. We had ordered the sriracha noodles with chicken and pad thai with tofu. The food was delivered very qhickly and was warm, even the portion sizes were good enough to give us leftovers for dinner. However, the taste and flavor was something that left us wanting for more. The pad thai had next no peanuts in it and it just tasted sweet with no distinguishing flavors to it. Similarly for the sriracha noodles, there was no sriracha flavor in it, just tasted sweet. On top of that we had ordered spicy level hot and it was no where close to that. Extremely disappointed in this experience and given that the food was hot, it makes me think they prepared it fresh but did not pay attention to the soice level or giving the right flavors. read more

I will NEVER again order from here. The big turn off: Their "pork" barbeque on a stick was nothing BUT total fat! I could even see the way it was trimmed away from an actual pork roast. EVERY ONE of them had to be tossed. $11.95 for their TRASH??!!! Do not let the darker parts of it, that is just burned fat to fool the uneducated. I've reviewed Thai Corner Kitchen a couple times over the past years and always rave about how delicious it is. My past two visits just reiterated to me how awesome this place is. One night I got my go-to: pineapple fried rice with chicken. As always it was delicious. Just remember to squeeze that lime on top!!! Then this weekend, while I was feeling under the weather, I ordered the massamun curry, which is essentially yellow curry. It's also got onions, potatoes, carrots, and peanuts. I got the chicken. It was soooooo warm and yummy. I ordered it with medium heat and boy was it hot. I could still bare it but may order mild next time. Chilly, rainy Friday nights call for a nice hot soup while I watch 20/20 on my cozy couch. It's been a couple years since I stopped by this gem of a place ...Thai corner kitchen. They've had an upgrade and the inside looks much cozier and cleaner than I remember years ago. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and the customer service was friendly. Tonight I decided to go with the coconut noodle soup, crab Rangoon and mango sticky rice. Total $26.85 before tax. Ordering online is quick and easy, I selected my spice level for my soup-hot- which was perfect for me. Dare I try Thai hot next time? I loved the coconut soup, one of my faves with all the flavors. Feedback: *I feel that if the soup had mushrooms and other ingredients that the Tom kha Gai soup has at other Thai restaurants, it would have been even that much better. It was kind of plain with just chicken and the soup, however it was very flavorful. A side of lime would have been refreshing to squeeze in as well. All together I give it an 8 out of 10 for flavor and spice level. At first glance, I was not impressed at the crab Rangoon - Not much filling. However, after tasting I saw that they are using real crab meat!! Not many places do, which is a plus for me. The mango sticky rice was delicious but a bit dry, Feedback: A small side of coconut cream to the poor on top would have been the perfect touch. I would visit again. We had delivery of pad thai, massaman, and wontons. The pad thai was very bad - looked and tasted like leftovers re-heated in the microwave, even the sauce was dry on top of the noodles but wet underneath. Sauce tasted like ketchup with added sugar. The wontons were sparsely filled, the tips of the dough was hard. The massaman was flavorful but watery. This is the only time I have ever had bad thai food in my life! You definitely go for the food here, not the ambiance. You order at the register and pick up your food from the register as well. I have a tendency to go during off time off periods so it was not busy at all. After much back and forth, I ended up ordering the Thai garlic tofu. I could have ordered it with chicken or shrimp, but my craving for tofu hit in. As I waited, I can hear the chef clanging utensils against what I think may be a wok. I just knew it was my food being prepared freshly with fresh carrots, broccoli and corn. Thai garlic tofu was amazing. The sauce was sweet and spicy along with big hunks of fresh vegetables along with cubes of tofu. Thai Corner Kitchen was recommended twice to me in one weeek. Finally got around to trying their new location, and always had very good experiences with the sister restaurant on W. Gate City Blvd. I decided on the Mango Tilapia ($15.95) and the Spicy Cashew Nuts with Shrimp ($12.95) - a rather modest order for me! I had not tried either of these dishes before so I didn't know what to expect. While neither dish was "bad", neither moved the needle much either. The Spicy Cashew Nuts with Shrimp was not all that spicy, and there were a total of 4 shrimp - not an impressive showing, definitely overpriced. The Mango Tilapia was cut from somewhat the same cloth - a small amount of fish, some less than ripe mango and a bunch of julienned vegetables - the only veggie listed was onion, but there was a garden there. At $15.95, this dish was even more overpriced than the Cashew Nuts dish. This may well have been a case of just picking the wrong dishes as to tastes and textures, but the value aspect was very real!
