I will admit-I was pretty skeptical trying this place out because I love the previous tenant so much but they did not disappoint. The food was seasoned perfectly and cooked to order. They will have sushi in the future, but they don't have it currently. The owner says he was working on some additional things to add the sushi bar. The menu looks small for now, but there's a lot of different options and more to come. On Mondays to my surprise, wings are buy one get one free. They were crispy, seasoned perfect, and delicious. The inside is still undergoing some repairs until they're fully open, but it will have a space where you can sit and eat. It has a lot of potential and I will definitely be visiting again.

Pad see ew beef

Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines and while I was initially saddened to see the prior restaurant go, I was glad that the new restaurant still served Thai dishes! This appears to be a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant. They have not officially opened but they are on DoorDash and you can already order so that's nice. When I ordered for dine in, it did take a while but on a separate occasion, I ordered on DoorDash and it didn't take a long time so just be ready to wait if you eat there in person. Their pad see ew was delicious, I was glad that it was not watery and the taste felt authentic. The beef was a bit difficult to chew unfortunately but another time I ordered chicken and it was good so I recommend selecting chicken for the protein if you are in between the two. The garlic ribs were delicious with the sauce that they provide. Now, the Thai tea tasted a bit sour and I don't know if I had a bad batch but I wasn't a big fan. Overall I would go again because I can tell they serve authentic Thai dishes! The owner was also very kind.

I Tried Wasabi Cafe 77 tonight while in town and looking for something different than the usual places I visit. Do not let the exterior of the building scare you away. The food is excellent! It's a nice little hole in the wall kinda place. The service was excellent and food was ready when I arrived. I ordered the garden rolls for appetizers, note the order comes with 2. I also ordered the chicken wings, they were delicious with the shrimp sauce. For the main course I got the chicken larb. It was better than any larb I have tried before! Fresh ingredients and spicy flavor. The only complaint is I would have liked some lettuce leaves or something to wrap it up. The portions are really large and possibly enough for 2. Pass the word around about this place so they get more business and stay open! Very delicious!! I would give 10 stars if possible.

Nice place for a casual lunch. Portions were fair and flavors were balanced. I'd rate it around four stars.

But it is the dish shown on the menu as Kao Poon that was the Laotian dish that first got my attention. This dish has several names, including Lao Laska, which is the name I used to order it the first time, at a Chapel Hill restaurant called Merilon, sadly no more! There are different version, of course, since this spicy noodle dish is served not only in Laos, but also in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, and The USA. It is served at 18 Malaysia in Winston, where it is shown on the menu as Malaysia Curry Noodle Soup, and I have eaten this dish at this restaurant quite a few times. The dish as served at So-Sapp is a very nice version, though I prefer the one at 18 Malaysia because of the very flavorful broth, and that you have a number of protein choices, while at So-Sapp it is limited to chicken. The other items I've had here have been good, especially the sausage, the pork skewers, and the Jeow Bong. The papaya salad was just ok.

We also thought it would be quick since it mentions street eats and that it has a drive-thru. If you are in a hurry I would order in advance. They do have a drive-thru for pick-up orders. The menu is slim, but adequate and the dishes are customizable (regarding ingredients and spice level). We ordered: Pad Thai chicken ($12.99) Pad Thai tofu - medium spice ($12.99) Thai chicken fried rice - no onions ($12.99) Mango sticky rice ($7.99) Brown sugar boba ($5.99) We enjoyed each of the dishes and recommend this restaurant to others!

It was very, very good and started our meal off on a high note. For entrees, my dining companion had the pork collar and I chose the Khao Poon Gai. The pork collar was absolutely phenomenal with a deep marinated flavor and perfect char, while my dish was incredibly flavorful from the coconut broth and the grilled chicken. I got to sample the pork collar and will order it the next time we're here. Dessert was a bit of a letdown. We split the carrot cake and found it OK, at best. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't at the same level as the rest of our meal. I would not order this again. Service was outstanding. Our server was friendly, helpful, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu. The kitchen turned over our orders very quickly. Combined with the great service, the tastefully decorated modern dining room made our meal memorable. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

It's the kind of place where you can tell a lot of thought goes into how each dish is built. Every bite had so much flavor and nothing felt repetitive or expected. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to walk us through the menu, explain different dishes, and help us decide what to try. The ambiance ties it all together. It strikes that perfect balance of being elevated but still relaxed. It feels like a place you can come to wind down at the end of the day, but also somewhere you'd confidently bring friends who are visiting and want to show them a great spot. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to. There are so many other dishes I already want to try, which is always the best sign.
