To be honest I did not enjoy the server, he was kind of rude and was rushing me when I was ordering and every time I say something he just like yeah yeah.... The food was okay, I did request for spicy, it was not spicy at all. I ordered the drunken noodle with tofu. Tofu was kind of soggy, seem like it wasn't cooked all the way. I did enjoy the fresh spring rolls and the peanut sauce that came with it. Also got the tom ka soup with chicken. The soup was lovely. One fine Monday my co-workers and I decided to have some Thai food for lunch. Well, we were in luck because there are a bujillion Thai restaurants in the area we could choose from so it should be a quick meal. But alas it was far from that. We stopped by Basil Thai for lunch, to our surprise they are closed on Mondays. Next we decided to head up the road to Singha Thai Bistro and well you called it, that was closed then as well. So with fingers crossed we went across the street to Thai Bangkok and were delighted to read a big signs on their windows which said "Open 7 days a week". Reading that we all took a sigh of relief and headed inside. Once we got in, we had to wait a bit standing clueless as what to do next as there was no employee in sight. Once the employee came from the back, we promptly got yo our table and were given the menus. The restaurant had a very relaxed feel to it with mostly corporate crowd. Menu seemed very straightforward with lunch menu at the front. I ordered the drunken noodles which had 2 stars next to it denoting that it was a particularly spicy dish. Excited by the hotness I decided to go for it. I wanted to go for thai hot, but I did that once at a different restaurant and I had a runny nose for the entirety of my meal, so just went with what the chef recommended. The food did not take long to come out, I had a big portion of drunken noodles with an egg roll on the side and some dip (not sure what) along with it. I chomped on the egg roll first and loved how crispy it was! The drunken noodles were not particularly spicy, in hindsight I could have gone for the Thai hot but well now we know for next time. After the meal it didn't take long for the cheque to come out and for us to get back to work. All in all it was a great meal and would love to be back here to try put more! read more

I've been coming to this place for years. They have great lunch specials and are quick with their service. This time I ordered the steamed dumplings which were little coin purses filled with delightful minced meat and veggies and the dipping sauce was extremely flavorful. I did order the usual Num Prik Pow with ground chicken. The sauce is this pungent, spicy but sweet garlicky sauce that really takes the side of rice to the next level once mixed in with the meat and veggies! For the past year, every single time we come here this place has been incredible. Since they are consistently awesome, we are finally venturing out to try new Thai dishes like the pad prik kang, Tom kha soup, and drunken noodles(all amazing each thing turns into our new favorite). Our usual go-to's are the red curry with shrimp and the pad Thai with chicken which are top notch. Service takes care of water and dishes promptly, they are always very friendly. There are ample amounts of Thai restaurants in the Triad and they're all delicious, but I try to rotate so that I can show them all love. We visited Thai Bangkok at lunch time a few weeks ago and we were thoroughly impressed. We were seated immediately and sadly the restaurant had only one other patron, but that's becoming the norm these days. We ordered the Thai Curry Puffs and they were the perfect start to our meal. Fresh, crunchy on the outside and filled with a delightful curried rice and potato mixture. I would absolutely suggest them. I love most of their entrees with a few of my favorites being the rotating curry entrees, the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, and the Num Prik Poaw. I get most, if not all, of my entrees with fried tofu and they prepare it just perfectly. All lunch dishes are paired with a crispy spring roll. Pretty standard, but still delicious! The lunch prices here are just incredible. I mean, at how many restaurants can you get an entree, rice, and a spring roll for $7.50?? I can't even go to Panera for that, and I much prefer Thai food. I'm going to say this clearly the best thai food in Greensboro and High point. 5 stars in all my reviews I look for portion and flavor. Start with the appetizer crab ragoon, the best I've had you get four but they are bigger than usual, the crunch is not hard at all and the filling is yummy, and I'm not a fan of cream cheese. Thai tea pretty tasty, yellow curry has so much flavor you must try, I need a little more rice with it tho. On paper, Thai Bangkok has a lot going for it. The location is reasonably spacious, the menu offers plenty of choices, and pricing on rice, noodle, and stir fry dishes is fairly reasonable. The actual experience, however, is decidedly uneven. I arrived shortly past the 5 p.m. opening time to place a takeout order and was acknowledged promptly. The woman working the register appeared to be a bit flustered, but she placed the order correctly. My food was prepped very quickly, but whether this is due to an efficient kitchen or a lack of other customers is anyone's guess. For my first time out, I went with steamed dumplings ($6.95 for five), shrimp pad Thai ($12.95), and beef Thai fried rice ($10.95). Pricing was in line with competing establishments, and portion sizes left no room for complaint. The presentation and flavors, however, were decidedly hit or miss. The dumplings (ground shrimp, chicken, pork, and garlic) had a similar flavor profile to Thai Corner Kitchen's, and while they couldn't quite compete, they were still quite tasty. The pad Thai, upon first glance, seemed to be a case of pad dry, but there was actually a fair bit of sauce: it had merely settled toward the bottom of the container. The results, upon mixing, were satisfactory. While I've had the dish better elsewhere, it didn't underwhelm. The same could not be said for the fried rice, though. Between poor knife cuts that yielded large chunks of vegetables to bland flavoring, this dish was quite a disappointment. Thai Bangkok has enough menu diversity (they offer duck and several intriguing seafood dishes) for me to consider a do-over if I'm in the High Point area again, but it doesn't compare well to Greensboro's best. read more

To be completely honest, this place is just ok--definitely not the best. My boyfriend and I decided to come here before a movie because I was in the mood for Thai. We walked in and it was totally empty--there were, however, tons of takeout boxes by the takeout window. So it looked promising. To start, we ordered one of the appetizer specials -- crispy spring rolls (see photo). The plate came out with a generous portion of spring rolls (pre-cut) with two lettuce leaves, some cilantro, and a house made tangy spicy sauce. This was my favorite part of the meal. The spring rolls were pretty tasty and definitely crispy. Really good when you make a lettuce wrap with all the ingredients. For our mains, I ordered the Thai Bangkok fried rice with pork and my BF ordered the Beef Pho (a new special seen on a board outside). It came pretty quickly and looked okay. The fried rice was, eh. The flavor was pretty bland and nothing special--I added a bunch of sriracha and that made it a little better. The pho just wasn't that great. The broth wasn't bad, but the noodles were over cooked and the beef was chewy and according to the BF he said it tasted like it was on the verge of turning. Just for credibility sake, he's a chef so he's not just saying that to say it. The waitress we had was super nice and attentive so 5 stars on service. Thai Bangkok is my absolute favorite, #1 hall of fame Thai restaurant. Pad Thai is different everywhere, and this one is IT for me. It's saucy with a balance of sweet and tangy, soft noodles, and tender beef... I would eat here everyday if I could. They're a bit heavy handed on the green onion, but I don't mind that at all. The lunch special is a steal for the amount of amazing food you get. I also really like the Pad See Ew, it has a bit of a twist that's not the standard soy sauce noodle (though I'm not sure what it is). The atmosphere is fine, erring on nicer than average (white table cloths with glass on top). Service is average too - they get the food there, do refills, and deliver checks in a timely manner. Pretty decent Thai place in the High Point area. My boyfriend and I tried their Chicken Pad Thai and their Pineapple Fried Rice. Both very flavorful and delicious. I've been here many times, tried multiple things off their menu, and I have yet to be displeased by their food. Their Thai fried rice is my absolute favorite. I don't know how they create such a unique flavor but whatever they're doing, it works so well! Their Pad Thai is also scrumptious. Noodles are soft and absorb the sauce so wonderfully. Side note: you get to control the level of spicyness for your entrees! If you only like a specific meat, that's cool too because you get to choose your meat for whatever entree you desire~ Oh and if you're vegetarian, you can have any entree with veggies and tofu- it's actually cheaper that way! I advice getting their spring rolls and shrimp paradise as appetizers- always perfectly crunchy. Their lunch specials are such a steal! However, it seems like everyone knows about them- there will most likely be a short wait every time. Portions are generous and the price is great. I can't believe I never tried this hidden gem until earlier this week! My coworkers and I were looking for something other than fast food for lunch, and someone recommended this to me a while ago. Why not try it out. The Pad Se Ew is phenomenal! Their sauce is as close as you can get to Thailand without going across the globe. I ordered it at a spicy level of 2, it does have a nice kick! Their fish cakes were wonderful as well, but I am yet to try a fish cake at a Thai restaurant that I didn't like. They all kind of taste the same. The spring rolls were good but I would rather order the fish cake next time. Overall I was satisfied and now they are my preferred Thai restaurant when I am in the area. read more
