I grew up on Thai Foods, my grandmother is From Thailand and we adore this place! we have literally tried everything on the lunch menu, and can tell you without a doubt that their food is authentic. I would come for dinner all the time, too if our budget allowed it. From the Curry to the to the salad and spring rolls, this place is delicious. My favorite dish is the ginger and basil stir fry, combined. I love it and recently that's all I've gotten from this place! This is a true Thai Restaurant, They know us by name over there. The owners and my Grandmother laugh and cut up all the time, they tell stories about Thailand and what they miss about it. I ate hear on a whim after a failed hangry attempt to get cupcakes down the street. I guess this was my calling, because thai food was definitely a much better choice! After initially receiving my fresh and creamy thai coffee and a small bowl of veggies, chicken and broth to enjoy I suddenly realized I didn't have my wallet! This never happened to me before, I have no one to contact to bring my wallet to me, and I was sooooo embarrassed and upset because the place looked so promising for a good dinner. Since I was the only guest at the time, I could tell they had already started my appetizer and entree as well...I rushed home and back, but due to time of day and distance was gone about 40 minutes. My appetizer was promptly brought out and it was so delicious. I order the chili lime shrimp and the flavors were perfectly balanced with each other, and I don't know how long it had sat, but the shrimp was till very crisp fried and the small salad was fresh. My dinner was crispy duck breast (duck choo chee maybe?) with a spicy coconut sauce and jasmine rice. Again, everything was perfect. The duck was amazing, and although my first bite of the sauce was a little spicy, the jasmine rice balanced it out perfectly. I also really enjoy that they have Tiger beer which brings back great memories of my Navy days for me! Dessert was fried bananas and ice cream, nothing spectacular there but still good in flavor and presentation. I think I should have had thai custard instead. New management - horrible. They removed the best items on the menu, they no longer have spring rolls (they have spring rolls with guacamole...seriously? Okay add that but don't take away normal spring rolls). No more tom kha soup (aka Thai comfort food). No more Thai coffee. They're trying this Chinese/Japanese/Thai hybrid restaurant and it's horrible. I miss my favorite Thai place. I'll never go back to this place and I DO NOT recommend it. I recommend the old Thai herb, which deserved 5 stars. The new hostess/waitress is horrible too and did not even ask us for our drink orders until we had to go up to her (raising our hands didn't work) and ask for simple waters. They didn't come for 10 minutes. In that time period, we perused the menu and discovered that it had been horrible remodeled. We got up and left. So the food is decent. However on the most recent trip a "buy one get one sushi roll" was advertised. My nurse friends and I all ordered food, only to be told later that the promotion was dinner only. The waiter was an immature boy of no more than 16 and did not offer any consolation for his mistake. The sushi menu doesn't offer shrimp, which I find peculiar. Red curry, spring roll, and Thai Tea are good. Not sure I would order sushi again. read more

Not a bad spot. I stopped by while working in High Point. The inside is worn down and my booth seat was ripped up and not very comfortable. I got the chicken pad Thai- the chicken was very ordinary and the pa d Thai was good. Nothing special but was good. Usually pretty good. But our last visit was terrible- group of 4-5 ppl sat at the table for 30 mins and no one even came by to offer water or take our order. After reminding the staff of our existence (twice if I may add), they finally came to take our order. not a good experience took my wife and daughter there for my daughters birthday we ordered.I asked about the preperations of the food because I have severe allergies to mushrooms and coconuts I told our waitress of my condition she told me no problem she would let the cook no.Our food came out mine had mushrooms and coconut I had started to eat before I noticed.Long story short I was taken by ambulance to hospital called the rest. the next day they blew my off would not give their ins. info so they left me no choice but to involve a lawyer will never go back there again. read more

Went in for lunch and everything was on point. Got the jungle curry and it had just the right amount of spice and great flavor. We got the weekly special roll which was specular. It is going to be one of my favorites, the flavor was amazing and the sauce was delicious plus it had roe which I love! Our server was Wint and he did an annexing job. I am in disbelief at how I was treated at this restaurant today. Never in my life have I had such a horrible experience with restaurant staff. We have dined in and picked up several meals here with no issue. But today when I tried to eat my normal take-out order of curry, I was met with a spice level I can only equate to food I had when I lived in India. My husband, who *loves* really spicy food, couldn't even eat it. So, I called the restaurant thinking there'd just been a simple mistake or switch made that could easily be remedied. Instead I was belittled and lectured about how the food wasn't spicy and it was impossible they made a mistake. It took nearly 10 minutes of arguing to get a replacement agreed to. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my replacement, I was told I needed to bring in the previous order so they could taste it to "check", as if I was lying to them. I have never, EVER heard of a restaurant insisting they TASTE a customers food! I was appalled. I was eventually allowed to take my replacement, and I hoped the incident was resolved. But then I discovered they hadn't included the rice that is supposed to come with the meal. Another phone call resulted in more lecturing and belittling about how I didn't need rice because it came with the first (incorrect) order, because I didn't request it, because the food was never spicy, because I shouldn't have put the curry over it to begin with... It was one excuse after another. I was also told, again, that the food wasn't spicy and that the only thing that was done to "fix" the spice issue was to add a bit of sugar and coconut milk to the same curry I was served previously (and yes, it was now insanely sweet and still exceptionally spicy). I asked to speak to a manager, and was told there wasn't one there. I asked to have a manager call me, and was hung up on. This is not the way a quality restaurant treats its customers. I truly hope management steps in to ensure this doesn't happen again. read more

I would not eat here again. Decor is cluttered and without purpose. There is not an enjoyable place to sit throughout the entire dining room. Food is weak. I would assume it all tastes the same. The cleanliness of the place is also questionable. The food was not authentic or fresh. This "Thai" restaurant uses Chinese-American Duck Sauce as the dip for their spring rolls and Japanese Shrimp Sauce for their "salad" which is about enough iceberg lettuce to cover a hockey puck with no other ingredients. Behind the "bar" that doesn't look like a bar at all looks completely unclean...I get the feeling that they are not even trying to succeed. So disappointing... read more

Not sure how Thai herb was like back in the day but I was very pleased with my last visit here. I ordered papaya salad ( they offer both Laos and Thai style), pad thai, green curry and chicken larb here. Papaya salad was good but it's still missing some flavor, it was more on the sour side. Pad Thai was flavorful, not the typical orange color pad Thai you get at other restaurants. My green curry was creamy, definitely tasted the coconut cream. Chicken larb was just okay, it could be a little bit more sour in my taste. I had sushi here before too and oh man it was really really GOOD! Only down side is their spicy level is not consistent. Sometime I order medium spicy and it comes out not spicy at all. read more

I have family in this area and we went here last week for dinner. A pleasant suprise due to the authentic use of herbs and spices as well as for them taking the heat scale seriously; order the papaya salad 5 star and tell me you don't feel it! I had a jungle curry with assorted seafood which had an underlying sweetness in a very thin sauce, but some good herb tastes like lemon grass and rhizome powder. Not very spicy at the 3 star rating which is fine. I also sampled a tofu dish and a bit of a pineapple curry both were tasty. The entree prices are quite reasonable but a couple of the apps seemed a bit high for what they were ex; fried green beans. Overall excellent food with friendly service would go again to taste some of their specials. read more

I have developed an obsession with this food. The servers are so sweet, and the place is actually very charming inside. But the food.... it's incredible. I have been to probably 30 Thai restaurants in my life and this is the greatest I've ever tasted. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and they pair them with the best combinations of herbs and spices. The calamari appetizer is wonderful, and for an entree I'd recommend either the beef sambal or the beef cashew. Fantastic. Also the shrimp pad thai is always, always, always good. These are just my favorites, everything I've tried has been delicious. And hey, if you can handle a little kick, go for it; their spice is amazing and always adds to the flavor rather than becoming overpowering. I usually don't write reviews, but I'd like to do away with nay-sayers. Negative opinions have more incentive to write a review than others. I had gotten takeout from Thai Herb a few times before and had been relatively happy. This time was different and is the reason I will not return. I called in an order for tom yum soup with chicken. When I got to the restaurant to pick up my order, I was handed my bag and I got back to my car. I opened it to check and make sure everything looked right and noticed my noodles were missing. I walked back in and asked if noodles didn't come with what I ordered. Both people insisted no and that I had ordered tom yum shrimp which doesn't come with noodles. I don't even eat shrimp so I let them know that's not what I said when I ordered and repeated what I said. They both looked at me confused and one went in the back to get my noodles. The woman proceeded to tell me it would cost more money to buy the noodles. I told them not to worry about it, walked out the door and dumped my incorrect order in the trash very frustrated. I'm not sure how when it is THEIR mistake for hearing what I asked for wrong, I'm still expected to be charged more after the fact for their mistake while all the while they were looking at me like I was the one wrong. Maybe they should listen better or learn better customer service. read more

I love this place, they are always so nice and the food is delicious. They've had a hard time through the years with ownership shifting hands 2 times, and the strip-mall owners shrinking their space (halving their dining area). Their lunch specials are effectively the same thing you get at dinner - just as excellent yet affordable. I go there probably 4 times a month for the past 2 years, they know me by name, and every guest I've brought there has become addicted. Most underrated item: Drunken noodles. Best tasting thing on the menu: Mango w/ Sticky rice (esp. when the mango is fresh) Mimi X - Man she's critical of her reviews. I believe it's always had the same cooks, just different owners. Isaac - You must have had take-out, they do give that as a take out sauce, but in the restaurant, it's homemade. Also, no, it's not Japanese white sauce on the salad, it's salad cream. I do wish they could invest in their dining area a bit, but I'm sure their location precludes them from drawing the patronage they would need for that. read more

Great service, good food. I ordered the Peanut Shrimp, and my two friends ordered the seafood salad and the (extra spicy) Jungle Curry. I enjoyed my shrimp and my crazy friend enjoyed his ridiculously spicy curry. However my other friend was ambivalent about the seafood salad. The food is pretty good but we are extremely upset by their dishonesty. In our bill, they tried to overcharge us $2 for the Basil rice and $1 for the shrimp tempura sushi roll. When we asked the waiter about the discrepancy between the menu prices and the final bill, we were told that there was an error in the menu prices and tax. The waiter claimed that beef was more expensive than chicken (we had beef) and hence the extra $2 for the Basil rice (although the menu had them at the same price) and the extra $1 for the sushi was for tax. It was clear that the waiter was just grasping at straws at being found out for dishonesty. The menu has been the same for a long time and the menu explicitly stated that beef. tofu, vegetable and chicken were the same price. Even if there was an error in the menu, wouldn't the right thing be to honor the prices in the menu? You cannot put up a price on the menu and come back later and have your customer pay a higher price citing there was an error in the menu! The reasoning for the extra $1 as down to tax is simply ridiculous. Tax is added at the end as a percentage of the total order price, it doesn't bump up your individual sushi item from $6.95 to $7.95. The reasoning is so outlandish that they eventually backed up on that claim and corrected the item price back to $6.95. The food in this restaurant is good, but it is unfortunate that they have resorted to such dishonest practices. I will not be returning. If you do go, remember to double check your final bill with the menu. I assume this is not the first time they have tried to pull a fast one over their customers. read more
