Okinawa is fantastic! It's a smaller restaurant but the food punches above its weight class. I have only gotten the hibachi steak because it is perfect every single time. The meat is so tender and is perfectly seasoned. I've never had a reason to try anything else because the hibachi steak is just so good! I've tried the hibachi chicken and the teriyaki chicken, both are also really tasty! Just like with the steak, the chicken is really well seasoned and not dried out. I work in High Point and have been looking for different lunch places to go that don't take too long. I saw other reviews on this place so I decided to try it and I definitely wasn't disappointed. It seems family owned and the service is good and quick. These egg rolls are amazing and honestly I would go just for them. This is truly a hidden GEM! The front of the place is low-key. Once you enter this, you are immediately taken back but the decor. It is smaller than what I thought it would be but very comfortable and cozy. The service was impeccable! She did an outstanding job communicating with us and making us feel at home. I ordered Hibachi Chicken and shrimp. It came out perfect! The shrimp were huge and the chicken was plenty. Terrible food and service to match! No wonder the whole place was empty! Bland and unseasoned vegetables and rubbery red snapper....only the rice was good. Manager had a horrible attitude when I very politely stated that the fish was rubbery and overlooked. The manager was offended because "everybody loves it" except I thought it was awful and offered no adjustment until I insisted. Was not looking fir a free meal but an adjustment which she was ver nice-nasty about granting. Never again! read more

First time walking into Okinawa and i loved the aesthetic, and the older woman was so sweet and the gyoza was so good and hot and then had the hibachi ribye. everything's as great, just a smaller portion of steak than expected during lunch, but other than that everything else was great and service was great! read more

Tried this place on a whim today. Best lunchtime decision ever! I ordered the lunch special of hibachi flounder without rice. The salad had wonderful ginger dressing and cucumbers not just lettuce! The veggies were perfectly cooked. No slimy gross zucchini filler. It was wonderfully al debts as was the generous helping of broccoli the founder was lightly breaded with panko and sesame seed. There was a refreshing hint of lemon the seasoning was just right. Not too salty. The ambience was calm and peaceful. Great for dining in but I guess they also offer takeout. And my server was just the cutest and happiest lady. Who would think that Archdale would have such a precious gem! I highly recommend Okinawa read more

A nice surprise. Traveling through the area, I found this place. It has maybe 10 tables and did a lot of take-out business while I was there. The owners/staff were very gracious and attentive. The food, mainly hibachi-style, was very good. The gyoza (fried dumplings) were the best I've had. I had the shrimp and filet hibachi. It was a generous portion of meat, rice (fried) and vegetables, the filet being done just as asked and melt-in-your-mouth tender. If you're in the area, it really is worth a visit. read more

My husband and I have been coming here since it opened. When they first opened they served us on styrofoam plates and cups but the service and the food was still the same delicious quality food. It's owned by a husband and wife who couldn't be nicer. They now serve on proper plates and in glasses. The food is delicious and filling. The best Japanese restaurant we have ever eaten at. We ordered the gyoza( amazing) and the squid salad( delicious) both were smaller single portions but we shared them. Our main dish was hibachi shrimp and chicken and hibachi scallops and ribeye. Both include salad, soup and rice. Everything was amazing. Nice and quiet. We were alone on Saturday at lunch time. The food is simple but always fresh and quite tasty. High quality beef, chicken, and seafood are used: meat dishes are tender and juicy, while the shrimp and scallops are huge, and never overcooked. A generous serving of fried rice with stir-fried vegetables accompany each entree. A Kombu broth and a simple iceburg lettuce salad is served with entrees. A limited number of appetizers are also offered, mostly dumplings, wontons, and tempura. To sum it up, the food is fresh, simple and reasonably priced.
