I've been meaning to try Odeh's for a while now, and I'm glad I finally did. It indisputably lives up to its hype. I went for an early dinner and was lucky to beat the crowd. We were seated immediately at a clean, spacious table. The restaurant soon filled up around us, and though I could see how popular it indeed was, the tables were well spaced and it wasn't too loud. We began with the red pepper hummus with pita bread, and it was absolutely delicious. Smooth, rich, full of flavor. The portion was generous -- more than enough for two people. We ended up ordering an additional side of pita bread to finish it off, and practically scraped the plate, it was that good. For my main, I had the Mediterranean grilled chicken sub. Like with the hummus, the portion was huge and every bite was bursting with flavor. The chicken was well seasoned and it was one of those perfectly assembled, bursting to the seams with toppings, kind of sandwiches that make you go "oh yeah, this is why people order sandwiches!" Everyone there was friendly, and our server was super attentive. The menu was also pretty expansive, so we won't be running out of things to try anytime soon. It had been quite some time since we had visited Odeh's. We had an evening meeting so dinner out was on the agenda and I had been meaning to get back here for some time. I was super happy to immediately stumble upon the arancini appetizer. One of my favorite things so we placed our order! They did not disappoint! We ordered our entrées probably 10 minutes or so after ordering the appetizer however unfortunately everything came out at the same time which is always very disappointing. That's a training opportunity for sure. A simple way to remedy that issue is waitresses should be trained not to enter the entrée order until the appetizer hits the table. I was in restaurant management for many years and this is just a pet peeve of mine and it's just irritating filling rushed through a meal. By the time we got to our entrées they were not particularly warm. Our waitress was nice, if not a little too attentive. The food was delicious and we ended up getting boxes for lunch the next day due to the generous portion sizes. That was a nice bonus! Saved me packing up the next day's lunches when I got home! There were a nice selection of desserts from their sister business around the corner. I was tempted by the pistachio baklava but maybe next time. Honestly can't believe it took me this long to visit Odeh's Mediterranean Kitchen. I think I may have gotten to go a few years ago but this was my first time dining in. Everything I had was amazing and would definitely order again. I started with the spanakopita. The phyllo dough on top of the spanakopita wasn't crispy but I didn't mind since the spinach and feta filling was so creamy. It would be great to be able to order a side of just creamed spinach. The gyro on pita was huge -- almost too big to hold. It was filled with tzatziki, gyro meat and topped with tomatoes and lettuce then drizzled with oil and vinegar. Just passing through and stumbled on this amazing restaurant! Outstanding food and service! Ambience isn't anything special but it's fine. The chocolate baklava was to die for! Red hummus super creamy. Gyro platter meat was tender, moist, so flavorful. Chicken kebab the same. So so good. Service was very fast and spot on. Good place to eat with friends. Food was good. I tried the kabob platter with two sides. My meat was cooked medium well. My sides were rosemary fries!!! (can you believe that) and pasta salad. It came with a white sauce that is creamy, the sauce was neutral. The meat was cooked right but the meat was seasoned too light it didnt have much flavoring. For appetizer I had chicken wings,there delicous and they serve them fresh and hot!! The staff was quick to greet and be of service. Expect groups of 3 to 6. So my husband and I have heard that we needed to give it a try! We showed on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised they were surviving brunch! I saw French toast from across the restaurant and new I needed it in my life! I was right! Omg yum! My husband ordered biscuits and gravy and I took one bite and waved down our incredible waiter CJ and I ordered my own! It was real sausage gravy over the yummest biscuit. My only complaint was you only get one biscuit not two. We also were almost finished before we got our over medium egg. Honestly we normally wouldn't eat the biscuits and gravy without an egg or two over the top but in this case we had to literally stop ourselves from eating to wait for it! It was so delicious. Ohhhhh yeah and I told my husband we needed to come back so we could try the Mediterranean food that we originally went for! So we went back on Wednesday! Back here after a very long time, too long! Just brilliant tasty food served up hit and fresh and it all looks amazing when your plate is set on the table. They are so friendly and efficient and fast. I love the expansion here with so much more seating and a full bar. Tuesday night and this place was packing those tables in. Which I just love for this restaurant. Odeh is around keeping an eye on things and bringing me my tzatziki when I needed it. My shwarma chicken platter was so good, the rice, chicken cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. Grilled veggies and mixed salad and pita. So much food and great bang for your buck. My friends enjoyed their prime rib sandwich with hummus and pita chips and Caesar salad . Also the steak and veggie sub with onion rings . All of it here is top grade and the variety on the menu is insane. Mediterranean and the pizza and pasta . Great cocktail list as well and a wine list. Decided to try this out after being on my list for a while! The hummus with pita appetizer was delicious! Perfectly flavorful and smooth, with warm, yummy pita bread. It was a lot of hummus so we ended up getting another side of pita to finish it off. Definitely would do it again. The chicken shawarma platter was great, but the rest of the menu looked so delicious I would probably try a few other things before returning to it. Been hearing about this place for a while now, not sure why it took me so long to finally try it but it was so good! Will definitely be returning. I got the beef shish kabobs and the meat was so juicy and flavorful. I also really enjoyed the rice and side salad. Everything tasted fresh and made to order, I really had a great experience. The food was just as good as the service. We started with the calamari. I was a little skeptical bc of the breading but OMG was I pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure what they put in the butter sauce but I could probably drink it (not really but it's that good). It also had a side of marinara which was good as well. The calamari came with banana peppers, sun dried tomatoes, olives and a sprinkle of parm. I need my calamari like that every time! So good! I got the mixed shawarma. You'll see lots of tasty dishes and smiling faces here, but you know what you don't see on the table? Salt and pepper shakers. That's because all the food is so perfectly seasoned that you don't need to make table side corrections! I love the very liberal use of spices and seasonings here, it really lights up your palate. Tonight my wife had the tried and true Mixed Shawarma platter and it was great as always. The side salad alone is big enough to be a meal, and she took most of the entree home for tomorrow. I decided to try something new and got the Kafka Platter, which features richly seasoned meatballs along with grilled veggies, pita bread, and two sides of your choosing. Still absolutely standing by this statement from my last review "Look y'all. Some people can just friggin' cook. They were born with a genetic ability to understand food chemistry, what makes a meal people love, from preparation to cooking and serving... and it really doesn't even matter what their background is. Hand them ingredients. They will make something you love." Yet now, even probably 200 lifetime visits later (that's really not an exaggeration, think of the number of times I've forgotten to check in), I continue to discover things that make me just shake my head and say "How is this, this damn good?" For 2025, Odeh's has slotted in as the 13th best place to eat in the entire United States, and take it from me... someone who does quite a bit of eating as a profession, and has done so in places all over the country and world, it deserves it. They don't rank this highly because the food is "fancy" or because the chef studied under world renowned culinary minds (though his family recipes speak otherwise). Their secret to success is simple. High quality ingredients, trial and error with different spice combos until they get it just right, meticulous quality standards, and the skills to bring that all together and create something that tastes unique and phenomenal. In other words, they care. Top to bottom. Every customer gets their best. The Mediterranean dishes continue to set the standard, but do not be afraid to try anything on the menu, even if you wouldn't consider it a specialty. I have recently been very into the pasta dishes, particularly the pesto rigatoni with either chicken or shrimp. The sauce is what throws this dish way over the top, rich, creamy, makes you want to ensure you sop up every last bit of it with bread... and I bet you can't eat it all in one sitting (and function the rest of the day). Pair this with his marinated chicken, garlic bread, and a fresh salad and you might even wonder if Odeh's is the best Italian restaurant in town too (it is). Anyway, if you have made it this far into my review, know that you absolutely cannot make a bad decision to go here. It's a great place to bring anyone for any occasion. It's got plenty of options for all dietary needs, from low carb to vegan and points in between, even their pesto is nut-free. There's no pork on premises, as is common in with this kind of cuisine... though I do wonder what a little prosciutto could do married with that creamy pesto sauce. Can we get them to #1 in 2026? I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! Odeh's has quickly become my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. The establishment itself is inviting, but on the small size, so getting there before the rush is important; but honestly, it's worth the wait. Everything I've tried has been bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. The hummus is next level-so smooth, creamy, and kinda addictive (in a good way)! I usually go for the chicken or beef shish kabob, and neither has ever disappointed. The portions are generous, the ingredients fresh, and when I get the beef, it's always cooked the way I order it. And let me just say--those rosemary fries are everything!! It's a bit of a drive, but every trip has been totally worth it--from the warm greeting when we arrive to the great service and always‑delicious food. Odeh's never lets me down! I still haven't tried the desserts (they all look yummy), but that Biscoff cheesecake keeps calling my name louder each time... it's only a matter of time before I pick up the phone! If I had one tiny critique, it's that the mixed drinks tend to be heavy on the mixer and light on the alcohol-so I've given up on the bar. Some places are just worth the hype, this Middle Eastern hotspot is certainly such a place. That the restaurant even exists is amazing, and that it has become incredibly successful is even more amazing. Some people hope for the best, some people make the best happen! Mahmoud Odeh, a native of Nazareth, came to Greensboro in 1997 in hopes of having a professional soccer career. But an injury end his playing days, and he stayed in the area, while working a variety of jobs. All the while, he wanted to find a way to build his love of cooking into a worthwhile career. He applied for several chef positions but since he was not classically trained at a culinary institute, he did not get the positions. After meeting his future wife, Brandi, they settled in High Point, not far from where their restaurant is located. After years of considering it, they decided to open their own restaurant in 2019 - it seated 25 people. 4 months after opening, the pandemic hit, and they were one of the first area restaurants to offer curbside pickup, and they survived, and gradually grew. They earned more and more repeat business, more accolades, including over 200 five star reviews on Yelp. They expanded into the space beside their spot, moving the seating up to 90, and they had a full bar. They offer primarily classic Middle East fare, most using Odeh's mother's recipes, some of which he tweaked. He has spices from Palestine flown in regularly, a bit pricey but he knows what he has. He also offers daily specials which may be prime rib, or sea bass, or pasta dishes, all with his creatively touch. He seems to always be looking for something new, dazzling! Brandi does the same with the desserts, also amazing. I have tried the App Sampler - hummus, falafel, baba ghanoush, spanakopita with a Greek salad or tabouleh - a lot of food for $14! Sorry but I don't see where this place really lives up to the hype. The decor is generic and gives cafeteria. The service was friendly and fast, so points there! The food was a mixed bag. I enjoyed my gyro meat, but the oil and seasonings were not evenly distributed, which means the flavor all pooled up at the bottom and left for several bland bites at the top of the pile. I was also disappointed at the small size of the pitas that came with it. The tzatziki sauce was solid, as was the hummus. The Dubai chocolate cheesecake and the baklava, I'm sorry to say, were extremely disappointing. The baklava hassle no flavor, and the cheesecake had weird flavor and not in a great way. They are worthy of 5, the full tables reflected how this is a great venue for spending your money. The menu affords the pickiest of eaters. Again, I feel bad. But you need a dedicated bartender (I suspect they called in). You cannot have a busy server do tables and bartending. It took forever to close our tab and order dessert to go. I always buy some Togo after we eat there. Last visit we got the arancini as an appetizer and I got the double beef kabobs for an entree. The beef is clearly filet cut, and super flavorful, not sure what Odeh marinates it in, but it's likely some type of drug because I'm addicted to that flavor, soooooo good. The wife got the mixed shawarma which is also very tasty. Service was great as always, our server was prompt and polite, and followed me with my credit card when I left it on the table as I was walking out. This has to be one of the best dinners we have had in this area! The falafel were super crispy on the outside, and nice and tender in the middle. Excellent seasoning. My son and husband both had the chicken kebab pita and fries, and they loved it. I had the steak kebab pita with onion rings and it was SO GOOD. The meat was seasoned so great, and their tzatziki and Greek dressing and ranch were all so yummy! The onion rings are enormous and perfectly breaded. I got the baklava sampler to go because they do not skimp on the portions. We shared the Mediterranean sampler. We got red pepper hummus, eggplant dip, spanakopita, falafel and pita. Everything was delicious and homemade. I had the gyro platter with fries and salad. The gyro meat was excellent as well as the sides. The beef kebabs my son ordered were tender and flavorful. This is a family owned Mediterranean restaurant that is one of my favorite places in the triad area! I ordered the appetizer sample and their baba ganoush is so flavorful. I ordered the chicken and beef shawarma as well and their portions are so worth it. The meat is also very flavorful. My only wish is the sauce that it comes with could be more flavorful but the meat tastes so good that it's still fine. I finished my meal with the baklava cheesecake and while that was very good as well, it was a bit pricey at $10 and I don't think I'd get again but a good thing to try at some point in your life.
