Dive is not really that divey, i'm guessing "relax and hang out and play games in cocktailored comfort bar" was taken so "Dive Bar" it is... this location is way bigger and more above ground than the OG in Mooresville plus it has patio seating to get away from the madding crowd when it arrives as I'm sure it will, it just wasn't here (yet?) today but it's still early and still Thursday and a bit too warm for May. entry and main room have several games of "skill" and other amusements to give your hands something to do besides raising your glass. further back there's more games and some pool tables; a standard coin-op plays different than 'World Series o' Billiards' tables because, well, you know... you're in a bar! which, oddly enough, is exactly the same reason you could loose your house payment (if they allowed that sort of thing here (which they don't.)) it's a nice place, kinda glad I don't live too near here or I'd be here more often than not.

I'm giving it 5 stars mostly just because of how much better it is than other B.W.W. locations I've been to, not strictly because B.W.W. is a 5 star experience generally. I've been here a few times over the past few years and it's always exactly what you want - decent beers or drinks, decent wings or burgers (or apps especially), and decent service - all while watching the game on many TVs.

Both times, the wait after arriving to pick up the take-out was very long, and this last time, I didn't get most of my food. The first time was on the night of December 12th, 2025. The order was supposed to be ready around 11:50 PM EST. I got there at that time, and it took about 30 minutes for them to get it to me. They did tell me something had broken in the back, and they had to remake my food, and they kept me up to date on stuff, so no real complaint at that time, despite the long wait. Tonight (technically yesterday), December 27, 2025, my takeout order was supposed to be ready at 11:10 PM EST. I arrived there to pick it up at that time. I never got my food. I waited until 11:45-ish PM and nobody told me what was going on. They did make my dessert. It was actually ready on time. They tried to give me just my dessert, but I told them I had ordered an All-American Cheeseburger and a thing of Mac-n-Cheese. After 35-40 minutes of waiting, they came back and gave me my dessert again. I was so tired from work (mandatory Overtime on top of that) and tired of waiting, I said screw it and just took the dessert and gave up on my food. I can forgive the restaurant if it was a one-off long wait. But two? In a span of almost two weeks? I can't let that slide, especially when I had to give up on getting my food and settle just for the dessert.

The vibe is pure microbrewery and I'm so here for it! They are a hybrid brewery/taproom so they have 5-6 of their own beers and a variety of other local/NC breweries, which is great to keep options open while also showcasing in-house brewing! Jeff, the owner & brewer, was behind the bar when I came in and he is the epitome of the foundation of the craft brew scene. All of the in-house beers were fantastic! The quality and beer artistry that went into the beers was evident with each sip! Also, u gotta luv a place that commits to a theme! This one is board sports and from the name to the decor to the beer names, it is ubiquitous and I'm so here for it! The taproom is small yet weirdly spacious...w/bar, table, upstairs, and even patio seating! So come for the beers and stay for the flight boards (as each one is unique)! Beers had: -Vert Ramp Vanilla Cream Ale 5.3% The flavor notes on both the nose & body/finish on this one -Mile Marker 55 Mango Wit 5% Luved that the hint of very distinct mango was on the finish and the wheat/wit was on the front/middle palate! -Morning Sesh Coffee Stout 7% The coffee was prevalent but not overpowering...I could have this beer w/bfast! Made w/Dark Roast Sumatra -Get Barreled BBA Stout 10.1% This is perfection for the abv; no cloying sweetness, u get the toffee/vanilla behind the finish from the barrel-aging but the tannins & malt from the stout -in-barrel come through gorgeously giving u an unsweet BBA stout that holds up to the 10.1% -Shape Shack Passion Fruit Pear Sour 3.4% I usually don't do sours but this one drinks like a prickly pear (fruit) margarita, and I'm not mad about it!

There's something for everyone here, from your standard pull up to the bar and watch the game seats, to comfortable couches for unwinding, or a garage door that opens up to the street for fresh air and people watching when the weather gets nice. You'll also find a really neat classic style pool table that has been freshly re-felted for those that like a distraction while they imbibe. There's also plenty of merch, both branded for Fox & Rocks, or just because they're interesting products. Grab your favorite drink on the rocks and wander around perusing the selection. They have a growing amount of bourbons and whiskey available, as well as several beers on tap from NC breweries like Sycamore and Red Oak, and of course some bottled or canned selections as well. Finally, I just have to point out some creative things. The Carolina Core soccer club mascot is the fox, and that is part of the reason for naming the bar this way. Also, you will find some of the most hilarious fox related signs in the bathroom. Enjoy the butt napkins! I think I'm gonna like it here, great spot for a night out!

This time I came back by myself and tried the noodle bar instead, and it's a completely different experience but still worth it. The noodle bar is set up like a small Korean grocery store station. Shelves of instant ramen to choose from, you grab your bowl, add your noodles and seasoning, then use one of the machines to cook it. There are three settings and I used M1, which came out just right. The broth was hot and the noodles had a good texture, not mushy. This is a basic setup. No fresh toppings, no eggs, no extras to dress it up. Some places offer that, but this one keeps it simple. If you go in expecting a full ramen bar you might be disappointed, but if you understand what they're going for, it works. And don't break your noodles. Leave them long so you can slurp them the way you're supposed to. If you watch Korean dramas, you've seen this a hundred times. Slurp the noodles and drink the broth after. I also ordered the Cajun tiger roll, 10 pieces, and that plus the noodles was more than enough food. The roll had tempura shrimp and cucumber inside, topped with spicy crab salad, spicy mayonnaise, and flame-seared salmon. The sushi chef used a handheld torch to sear the salmon right in front of me, and that added a nice finish. Between the noodles and sushi, I was full. This is a good option if you don't want to do the full all-you-can-eat. It's quick, easy, and you still get a good experience without committing to grilling at the table. I'd still recommend this place for groups, but now I'd also tell people not to overlook the bar if you're by yourself or just want something lighter. Must order: Instant ramen (use M1) and the Cajun tiger roll Heads up: Noodle bar is basic with no fresh toppings, manage expectations accordingly

When I asked about it, the explanation did not make the policy seem any more fair. What concerned me even more was the safety issue. There was hot water left out in the open where it could easily be knocked over or reached by a small child. In a restaurant that welcomes families, this creates an unnecessary risk for burns and injuries. Between the unexpected charge for a toddler and the lack of attention to basic safety, the experience left a negative impression. I hope management reviews both their pricing policies and safety practices to better serve customers and families.

After a some discussion and online menu review, we settled on Rixster. We've, been many times in the past, but haven't placed a to go order since the days of Covid I called in the our order as I was finishing up a few errands, the hostess who took the order was very friendly and said it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. I arrived a very full house of families dining and sports fans enjoying food, drink and drink while watching the game in the bar area. I figured I'd have a chance to grab a beer while I waited for the food to be ready, but was pleasantly surprised to find it was already done. After some debate, I decided to try something different on this visit, and got the Hawaiian Chicken Grill sandwich with a side of a Mac & cheese. Getting home, I opened the to go container to find a massive slab of chicken, sticking out both sides of the bun, not surprising based on my past varieties of chicken sandwiches from Rixster Grill! The sandwich was delicious, marinated in teriyaki and super juicy, topped with cheese and a grilled pineapple ring. It really hit the spot, and definitely filled me up. The mac and cheese was also fantastic, smooth, creamy and very tasty...only wish I had gotten an extra side of it. Overall, it was another delicious meal from Rixster Grill! If you like supporting flavorful, locally owned spots, I highly recommend you give them a try if you haven't before, they've got something for everyone on their menu and you won't be disappointed

The burger was good, messy but good! The tater tots were good as well. The meat inside the quesadilla seemed more like smashburger type hamburger meat rather than actual steak, but again pretty good. Not a whole lot going on with it, wish it had peppers/onions in it as well or as an option to add for more flavor. We would probably not get anything we ordered again but will definitely go back to try another recommendation from Kelley, or even just for an appetizer and a few drinks if she is tending bar.
