The…read morehousemaid is a book I'd read and wanted to see and I found it playing just 2 shows on a Sunday , something called a Final Cut feature. A $5 movie program they have here where each week they spotlight a movie for limited run with one or two showings, a chance to see a hit movie before it leaves theater. I got lucky ! Great not to have to spend a fortune as you can at the movies. They also give you a coupon when you buy your ticket for a popcorn and drink combo at discount price. Everything is done by self check out for tickets, with a person there to tell you where your theater is. They have a lot of concessions here too. Bathrooms clean, and the theater was pretty empty for my show. They have all the newest movies here and imax available. Lots of parking, and easy to navigate. This was a nice break in my rainy day, I'll be sure to see what's on their Final Cut showings in future.

One was a dead pixel I think or something in the projector, I don't know but it looked like it wasn't maintained. There was a fly flying around the whole time I'm watching and the air conditioning was extremely loud and noticeable during the film. But yet drinks and popcorn are extremely expensive. Also they don't have apple pay which is not good. A lot of people use Apple Pay. This has become the worst movie theater in Winston. In the last year, I've had better experiences at Marketplace and AMC.

I was like, "Where is this???" We drive down that road all the time and had no idea it was even there! What we loved about it is that it's not one of those fancy theaters. It's an independent local theater that's definitely a little outdated, in the best vintage way! We don't need reclining seats or 3D to enjoy every movie. Sometimes all you want is a big screen and theaters like Marketplace Cinema are getting harder to find these days. The best part? Tickets were only $9 for us and just $7 for my college son! We'll definitely be back. I love finding and supporting local places like this.

With…read more$7 shows, a wide variety of refreshments sold (from beer and wine to popcorn and assorted candies) and an all-male comedian roster, this was truly a treat that left its sold-out crowd guffawing and gagging, literally, over the deliverances of jokes that ranged from raunchy adult to downright childish and silly! These groups of comedians did not come to disappoint as they approached everything from crowd interactions to tongue-in-cheek monologues performed. Marriage, modern day behaviors and protruding manholes were just a boisterous bit of memorable subjects discussed, leaving the crowd both stunned and stuck in their seats, doubling over with laughter. Myself (and my friends that I brought along) arrived just 15 minutes before the sold-out show only to enter a jam-packed theater house full of comedy-lovers. Seated directly in the front row (because there were absolutely no other available seats), I confess to feeling a tad bit anxiety over the possibility of becoming one of the comedians' targets to tease... but as the show commenced, I/we was/were left more than thrilled to have the best seats in the entire house! Would I go again when these "idiots" return to the soapbox & silverscreen in Salem? Uhhh, duhhhhh! Should others be sure to check out whenever they do make their way back to perform? I have recently gotten back into going to the movies and this one was a good experience for me. One of the greatest things I like about this theater is there was not an excessive amount of previews. The previews have seemingly gotten out of hand!!! (30-45 mins of previews, is NUTS) You have the option to reserve seats which I love. The chairs are super comfy, they recline---woohoo! I find this to be a stupendous addition, which happens to be the VERY nice sized trays for your snacks. I noticed that some complained about the sound and the cold temperatures. I was in theater 2 which is a smaller viewing room, which I really enjoyed. The sound? Normal theater sound to me. I don't recall my Apple Watch picking up excessive sound. Cold? I always make sure I wear a sweater or a hoodie to the theater so no complaint there. I did however notice when I was leaving that people actually brought blankets in with them. The only complaint I have is the popcorn. The small is HUGE for one person. It was about $9 and it was super meh. I guess the hot butter is not an option? I didn't ask, I guess I didn't need it anyway. It was also lacking salt. There is an option to purchase the popcorn seasoning by Kernel Seasons though. All in all, I am ecstatic that this theater is open (ok, I know, I'm late, but whatever...lol). I will be a frequent guest.

Customer service was great upon arrival. We purchased tickets at concession for Moana live action. The stadium zero gravity seating was very comfortable and the sound system was impressive. I recommend when in the coliseum/ Gate City area. All that's missing is an actual menu with food to dine in. There are plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from that are local.
