The food is okay. I thought the service was good but the last time I went there the lady at the register was so rude to me. When I asked her for a small sweet and sour sauce she gave me attitude. When I thanked her, she did not say anything back. I thanked her again thinking she didn't hear me. She still did not acknowledge me. This time I knew she was ignoring me on purpose. Thai Original BBQ and Restaurant has been one of my favorite restaurants since I first had it in Chino Hills. It's a little-known chain restaurant around Southern California (and somehow Las Vegas). I always order the BBQ Chicken Dinner....the beef satay is also delicious. The Crispy Duck Dinner is also amazing, but they don't serve it at this restaurant anymore. read more

Amazing food. I've been coming here for the last couple of years and the food has definitely improved. I've tried the Pad Thai which is really good. But the best thing i've tasted here is the House Special BBQ Chicken. Its amazing perfectly tender half chicken served with Fried Rice with a little bit of shrimp which is around 9-10ish. Delicious! On lunch time i also get the BBQ chicken special for 8.00 served with Fried Rice as well with a Salad which includes a tasty Honey Mustard dressing :). I give it a ONE STAR because I had food delivered to my workplace and they totally messed up. The plastic lid for my soup cracked and broke into tiny fragments that ended up in my soup. It's because they placed something heavy right on top of it. Smart one! When I called for them to drive back, take their soup back, and refund my money, they were rude on the phone and it took them forever for them to bring my money back so I can order elsewhere. Why be rude to the customer when they were at fault? Do they really want me to contact the health department and file a complaint against them? I really was looking forward to trying this place, being new to the area and in love with Thai food. The first thing that greeted us was a "corrected" MAJOR lack of compliance sign from the health department. The windows were dirty, but we had read the reviews so we were still hopeful. There appeared to be s counter from which to order, and a server was setting tables, so I asked if we should order at the counter for an eat in order? She grunted, but didn't really reply. There were three in our party and being unfamiliar with the menu, we stood at the counter reading the menu. The server was impatient and asked rather rudely if we were ready. I made my order from the lunch menu, as did my husband and son and they sat down at a table while I paid. The server never looked at me or attempted to say anything. I noticed how dirty her shirt was, and I tried to be friendly, but she was not. She brought my lunch to the table first and I saw that I it was the leg and thigh of the chicken. I asked if it was possible to get the breast and wing and the server just shook her head no and walked away. We had grab utensils from another table, no offer of water, napkins, nothing. Then she brought a second plate and placed it on the table without any concern for who it was for. I got up and went to the counter. Another man was on the phone with a customer, I again asked the server if I could pay more for the breast and wing and she said you need to order the dinner (which was just $2 more) and she was so rude! Her body language and demeanor were so disrespectful. I asked her why she was so angry and rude and if she treated everyone this way. She grunted "yes". The worst service I've experienced in a very long time! How disappointing! To top it off, the food was also a huge disappointment. I didn't know new customers were so easy to come by, you guys lost this family. read more

I Have Found My Official Delivery Choice. You have no idea how excited this makes me. Their prices are cheap, their selection is More than satisfactory, and the cute delivery guy calls you by your name! I've only tried the spring rolls (the sauce was spicy enough to make me take notice, but not so much that it was distracting from the tasty rolls), but I'm having the veggie fried rice for lunch, and the ginger chicken for dinner. Sick of only getting pizza delivered to your home when you don't feel like going out? Well if you live within the delivery range of this place, then you have more options! I don't typically eat in here. The one time I did there was a little girl running around screaming by the lovely fish tank (but hey it happens). I either order out or have it delivered. The food is always delivered on time, the staff that delivers is friendly and they haven't messed up one of my orders yet (just be clear about pronunciation or use the numbers if you order over the phone). When I spend a night in and don't feel like cooking (which is rare), there's nothing better than getting tasty, steaming hot Thai food delivered to my door! If you feel like an appetizer, the Crab Langoon is really good. I'm one that likes to experiment and try new things. My favorite dish thus far is the Pad Kee Mao with chicken (Note: I love spicy dishes and I don't eat pork or beef). read more

So I came here recently with my sister and... This place is going downhill. One person saw us and gave us menus. But then there we were sitting there forever, waiting for service. Finally someone came out. I really think THAT HUGE FISH TANK should be removed from the front. It would definitely improve service because you would be able to see your customers. Also, it's so dark in there! Like save electricity dark! This is a restaurant, so a little more lighting would help. However, I do like their pad thai. I used to order with extra noodles for $1, but I asked again to make sure, she said, $3.50----what a rip off. A lot of the items on the menu are crossed off. My sister still liked her coconut soup. There is a very young (kid) who delivers (sometimes) & he always seem to get lost and takes forever and a day to get the food delivered. But his charm saves him. I guess the food was a little too salty for me, OR loaded up with MSG...I woke up at least 3 times that night to gulp down water. That's something I never do...usually sleepin like a rock in the LBC. Thai BBQ has a very friendly staff. Since I moved to LB 5 years ago, I have frequented the restaurant. My favorites are the Pad Thai, Green Curry, and the spring roles! Customer Service is excellent. My Pad Thai came out different once and I called to ask if they had a new chef. Turns out the chef was new and she credited me for a Pad Thai in the future. This place is one of my favorites for thai food (it also helps that it's very close to where I live). I have eaten in and ordered to go and either/or is a good experience. My favorites here are the spring rolls, the pad thai and the barbeque chicken (it's so incredibly moist and tender every time)! When I used to work in downtown LB, I think I may have ordered lunch from Thai BBQ at least 3-4 times out of the week. My wallet wasn't happy, but my tummy sure was :) Favorites are the wings of angel, any of the curries, pad khee mao, tom yom goong soup, and pad see ew (sp??) *salivating* The staff's super friendly too (family owned, I believe), which made a pretty positive impact from the beginning. Angela always remembers my name & order whenever I call in, and George delivers with a smile & quickness! But despite my love & adoration for this little Thai joint, I'm only giving them a 4-star cause of some inconsistencies... Let's just say that their stuff tastes better on somedays.. different chefs, I assume? Plus, I'm not too big on their Pad Thai.. It's a little dry.. I would have to agree with the GF's review of this place! It is most definitely, above and beyond greater than the one in Cerritos! Most of the time we order the BBQ chicken and Satay Beef Skewers (I think S1 and S8, respectively) and they never disappoint. The chicken is always juicy and tender, never dry, and oh so flavorful! The Beef is also very well made! Once again always juicy and flavorful! The rice is bomb!! I have never really been a fan of PadThai, but theirs is actually pretty good, as is their green curry, and Thai Basil Chicken... no offense though, the GF's thai basil concoction rivals theirs! The server (notice that I mentioned server, as in singular) is wonderful! She's this middle aged Thai lady, and she is the only person manning the whole restaurant. With all the stress for keeping her customers happy, she's always there with a great smile and a follow up of "is everything ok?" There were a couple of times that we just had the food for pick up, and she would always ask how the Gf and I were and that next time we should just eat in! Just some background info, we've only been there twice before this incident! She managed to remember us in two seatings and in the midst of a busy restaurant! That's how personal she is! We first came here October last year just right before I had severe rashes, I didn't appreciate it back then but now I could say that everything is so much sweeter (and better the second time around.) I like this place because it is quick, good, and fairly cheap. I guess most Thai places are pretty affordable for the most part. But when I order from here my food is always at a good standard. Looks fresh, tastes good, and the staff is always super friendly. There are several reasons I didn't give it 5 stars, mainly because it just isn't geared to create a remarkable experience. The restaurant itself is comfy enough, but the place looks like its from the 80's. It is what it is though. Stopped in for our first visit this past weekend. Very polite and friendly server. Top notch Thai iced tea. Especially that was served in a mug with shaved ice! Ordered Tom yum goong soup. My boyfriend and I ( before "the depression" ) used to eat here at least once a week. They knew me by name when I called to order out and even we ate in I felt it to be warm and inviting, plus I enjoyed the giant fish tank in the center of the dining area. I have to say Thai Iced tea, crab langoon and glass noodles are my fav. But Ive had the fried tofu, the pineapple chicken curry and the coconut milk soup which are also very good. They are very patient with me on the phone when I cant decide what to order and when I wanted just a small peanut salad with my soup they offered a side option, which I didn't see on the menu. I have to say this is our favorite by far, my boyfriend cant get enough garlic beef and its nice knowing when take out places remember you. I hope that what the other reviews are saying isn't true and it didn't get sold to new owners... i'd be definitely disappointed read more
