Curry Puff Pastry

5/5 - Customer Service 2/5 - Thai Chicken Pad See Ew -- $12.95 5/5 - Taro Milk Tea -- $5.95 5/5 - Curry Puff Pastry -- $9.99 This place is a small hidden gem. The workers were very friendly and the interior was very charming. It has a warm ambience to it. I ordered Thai Chicken Pad See Ew, Taro Milk Tea, and the Curry Puff Pastry. The Thai Chicken Pad See Ew wasn't appetizing. It lacked dark soy sauce. It was overly soggy and broken apart. The veggies were very dry. I don't experience that with other Thai Restaurant. For the Taro Milk Tea, it was super delicious and appetizing. For the Curry Puff Pastry, it was super delicious. It came with a dipping sauce. The sauce was great, but I think the Curry Puff Pastry is still just as great without the sauce. The only thing that was concerning was the price. For 3pcs, it's priced at $9.99. If you order this, your receipt will say 5pcs. I clarified with one of the workers and she said that when they put it in the system they are going by Thai numbers. I would most likely return for the drinks, but unfortunately not for the food.

Fried dim sum. Sweet and spicy chicken that I took a bite of before letting the camera eat. (oops) And great family company. 3

We actually drove passed it and had to turn around to go back and find it...it's an unassuming building but once you see it, it's like, why did I miss that? It's got very few awkward parking spots right in front of it, but for additional parking, there's street & neighborhood spots (hopefully) near and all around. Be careful backing out & getting back on the street (you'll understand what I mean when you come and try this place out). The entrance looks like a home door. Just turn the knob and walk right on in. Inside is a normal typical restaurant. They have lunch and dinner specials and I highly recommend going this route for the best value. The dinner specials include shrimp fried rice, a choice of egg roll or simple salad, a Thai tea and a main entree with choices that include Pad Thai, Chicken Chow Mein, Chicken curry, chicken wings and more. And the price is lower than expected for the inclusions and portions. All the food taste good--the chicken wings are sweet and spicy (I asked for medium spice) and it paired perfectly with the rice. They also have appetizers and we tried the fried dim sum which was crispy and meaty. Pretty good. Honestly, we were all happy with what we ordered and it was such a pleasant meal. The service is friendly. But my one passive complaint is that the entrees came out at different times and since we all like to eat at the same time, some members of the group had to stare at their food while waiting for the others' food to arrive. And the wait was minutes (maybe? but it felt long, you know when you're hungry and want to eat, the wait just feels longer than what one would want). But overall, it was a wonderful and affordable dinner with the family. We were full and plan to return. :-)

I love love love this little spot! The ambiance is chill, sultry jazz playing in the background. Very clean and sparsely decorated. The staff are amazingly kind and willing to educate you on each dish. The food is delicious and plentiful.. I will definitely be coming back soon.

I've came twice now , once for the lunch special (tried chicken chow mein and pad prik king) And today for dinner (1/3/2024 7pm). I personally had Thai iced tea, vegetarian egg rolls , a taste of their thai boat noodles, pad prik king, and mango sticky rice. My favorite two items were pad prik king because I asked for it to be made EXTRA EXTRA spicy and they actually did it ! Most places don't complete that request but I was sweating with my meal (no complaints I love spicy) plus the green beans were not overcooked and still had a crunch to them. My second favorite was the mango sticky rice which was absolutely amazing! I've only had this from one other place before but this one definitely exceeded my expectations The establishment was clean and staff was very friendly. I'll definitely be coming back.

This is a very good seemingly family owned Thai restaurant. It's not a chain. It's not fancy. But the Thai food is excellent. With most dishes, they inquire about your desired spice-level. Medium is not very spicy; hot would be the right level for me. Very hot would be too much for me, I'm sure. I didn't feel great today and felt like tom yum gai. It was delicious and the price was reasonable. I added on a Thai beef salad that was excellent too. I will surely be back and if you like Thai food, this is a great little place.

My friends got me takeout from here when I visited them so I could try Thai cuisine for the first time. Extremely reasonable prices with healthy portions and the food was ready for pickup in less than 15 minutes. We got: pad see ew (3/5) -- Seemed to be a wetter version of chow fun. I found the sauce to be way too sweet(maybe too much kecap manis?), but it was strangely addictive. Could've used less sauce so the noodles wouldn't have been so heavy and soggy. pad thai (4/5) -- Preferred this noodle's texture over the pad see ew though the sauce was still too sweet for me. Overall enjoyable because there were sour, spicy, and savory notes to help counter the sweetness. chicken green curry (4/5) -- Refreshing, spicy, sweet, saucy goodness. Get it just for the sauce and eat it with rice. Thai Iced tea (4/5) -- Earthy, bitter, and creamy. Was my first Thai tea experience so I'm not quite sure what authentic/good Thai tea is supposed to taste like. All the proteins in each dish we got were pretty dry while their vegetables were well done, so if you don't mind overcooked meat, give 'em a try.

I had been craving…read moreThai food and there aren't many options over on my neck of the woods so we made the drive to Long Beach. Upon arriving, we were greeted and asked to sit to wait for a table. It was busy but not crowded. The waitress handed us menus to look at while we waited for a table which was a nice gesture and allowed us to be ready when seated. It took less than 10 min to get seated. Once seated, they were fairly quick to come and take our order. We ordered: 1. Satay chicken 2. Yellow Curry with Chicken 3. Beef Pad See Ew and 4. Shrimp Pad Thai Everything was absolutely amazing! I could eat yellow curry for the rest of my life and this was one of the best ones I've had. We did get a red Eden cocktail and a beer. The cocktail was good! Not too sweet or strong. Service was great, too! Friendly and very attentive. The restaurant itself is very clean and the decor is very demure haha it's cute and spacious. Very welcoming! This is such a hidden gem! I'm so happy we decided to try this place out. We will definitely be back!! Worth the drive!!

KIN Thai Cuisine in Long Beach off Broadway is a really solid spot…read more Parking is available, but it is limited, so just keep that in mind depending on the time you go. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. Flavor Profile (for reference): Umami-forward (savory, salty depth) Acidic or bright (tangy + sour) Pungent and intense (spicy and bitter notes) Drink Preference (for reference): Bitter-forward cocktails Balanced acidity Light sweetness only, not overly sugary

They had quite a lot of options on their lunch specials which was nice I got the spicy wings with fried veggie dumplings. The wings were freshly fried with a thin batter that stayed crispy even with the generous amount of sauce. The sauce was sweet, savory, and tangy - very tasty. My partner liked his tofu yellow curry with fried tofu appetizer as well. We got the lychee iced tea and Thai tea for our drinks - both were excellent! Good value for what you get! The service from the main owner/manager (female) was by far the rudest I've experienced at this restaurant. When ordering, we were simply trying to explain how we wanted our dish prepared. For certain Thai dishes, there's a big difference between something being fried versus crispy, and we were trying to make sure it was prepared the same way we had ordered in the past. While we were speaking with another server to clarify the order, the manager stepped in, took over the conversation, and rushed the order through right after she clocked in. It felt very dismissive and like we weren't being listened to at all. When the dish came out, it wasn't what we had asked for. When we politely asked how we should properly word the order so it could be made correctly, she became visibly upset instead of simply explaining it. She then took the dish away, and no replacement was offered--nor was there any apology for the misunderstanding. I completely understand that restaurants have many customers to attend to, but we are paying customers as well. After years of making the drive here for a good meal, this experience was extremely disappointing. Sadly, this interaction cost you a loyal customer, and I will not be recommending this location anymore. As far as the ambience, they have no TVs that works, no music playing during dinner, and top it off- There's a huge leak over the bar area coming from the ceiling.

A classic Long Beach spot!…read more I've been going here with my family for many years growing up and their food has always been good. They have a good selection of options so there's likely going to be something for everyone. Highly recommend the Thai boat noodles - the broth is very rich and flavorful, definitely in my top 5. I will say that service can be very inconsistent. From my more recent experiences (multiple visits across the last year or two), I noticed a pattern where the servers are quick to seat you and take your order, but then you don't hear from them again until you flag them down (if you need anything or want to get the check, for example). I'm not saying that check-ins throughout the meal are required, but they would be nice gestures. Also having to wait around to contact a server just to pay can be a bit inconvenient... The ambiance is nice, it has modern decorations and there's a good amount of interior seating. I will add that it's mostly street parking in the front but they have a small parking lot in the back, including a rear entrance. Overall, good food, 50/50 service, still would come back.

Now I know why they put it in a plastic bag when delivered. The sauce spilled in the bag. I had to pour it back in the container when opened. I don't think that's very sanitary or even proper way for the sauce to be put in the papaya salad. They could have at least put the sauce in a separate container for me to add. Food: -Green papaya salad (som tom): Like I said the sauce spilled all in the bag (see pic). Other than that, it was really good. It has a little kick to it. But I feel like the sauce could have been served on the side. -House special crispy pork belly: It was really delicious. It has good flavor. The breading on the pork gives it a nice crunch and pairs well with the sauces provided. -Roti with peanut dipping sauce: The texture of the roti was really soft with an easy bite. And it pair well with the peanut sauce we got. The peanut sauce was a little bit liquidy for my liking, but overall it had a good taste. Rey peanut forward. -Pad Thai with shrimp: The noodles were cooked perfect. The noodles on the bottom however did stick together (after it sits there for a while). But once you mix everything, you get a good bite - the noodles, bits of egg, bean sprouts. I do wish there was an option to request more lemon/lime. I like to add a lot on mine. I definitely recommend this place. Their menu also had a lot of other yummy food options to choose from.

The entrees were well prepared and flavorful, with the perfect amount of spice. The pad thai was delicious, authentically drier versus saucy. Eaten with the curry it was a divine bite.
