The area is not so nice and the parking is a little draconian (NO CHURCH PARKING... who wouldn't let a church park in their lot???). I went by there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and found a loud redneck veteran loudly complaining to his lunch party and a little ADHD kid running around making airplane noises during my entire meal. If you can focus on your food and your own business (it's very hard) then you have a wonderful opportunity for really tasty BBQ chicken ($6.95). I'm not sure what makes it Thai though. This place used to be THEE restaurant I had to have at least once a week. Trust me when I tell you I would spend over 40$ at least once a week (usually 2-3). I've always known they struggle with customer service and I looked past it because I enjoyed their food that much. There is one waitress who is very nice but everyone else WOW. I recently ordered over the phone my usual order and the female asserting immediately gave me attitude and said "no we don't do that". Mind you I've been coming here since I was a child. My request was instead of rice I substitute for salad. Something they've always done with no problem. I didn't want to argue and I said, I'll have a side salad then too. She then hung up and so I called back thinking we just got disconnected. She continued to be rude and gave me my total and the time it would be ready. I arrived at the time she told me and boy it went to hell. I stood outside with my mask (covid) and waited to be called in. I walked in and she looks at me and doesn't say anything. I wait and finally tell her I'm here to pickup and she continues to ignore me. I let her know what I ordered and she tells me to go outside. At this point there's NO ONE in line and she hasn't charged me or reviewed my order. I'm patient because of the new covid rules so I look past her very rude tone and eye roll. I go back in 10 min later and she just gestures that I need to pay and "hurry up" as she stated. So at this point I'm annoyed and I say "no I'm not paying until I check my food " . I ask her if she can tell me my order to double check and she said " no I busy" .she then gestured and says " outside now". At this point I've waited 35 min for the order to be finished and an additional 20 min standing outside still waiting. She then begins to point and shout in a different language and laugh. I go to my car to grab something in an attempt to just calm down and get my food to not get upset . Another 10 min go by and I've had enough. I walk in and tell her to cancel the order and as I walk out she starts yelling. I asked for the manager and she claims it's her which I doubt because I had never seen her working there and trust me I go there ALLOT. She claimed her name was "P.T" and made sure I knew she "didn't care serving "you people". Not sure what that means but I'll let you decide. I loved this place and it sucks but I'm not paying for shitty ass service and disrespectful people . I left a bit of the argument out because it was back and forth over the phone about how the restaurant does not substitute anything. I recommend going to a Thai place on 7th street and walnut. Tom Yum Goong: Always a hitter Chicken Sate: Can't go wrong Chicken Phad See-Ew: Good but portion wasn't huge Chicken Fried Rice: Meh, something was missing Honey Duck: Yumm but I think they could've given a better cut Chicken Yellow Curry: Sauce was great but they gave like 3 huge pieces of chicken rather than cutting up pieces so it was hard to divide the meat to a group of 7 people! Same for the potatoes! Jeezus Had a couple orders of each and it came out to almost $80 which isn't bad but I wasn't overly impressed with the grub. 2 things to order here. The BBQ chicken and rice is a huge portion and very flavorful. Everything from the rice to the chicken is made right. No wonder why everyone who walks in orders this. Driving through the LBC not knowing what I wanted to eat I passed by Thai BBQ and kept driving. The place stayed in my mind so three miles down the road I came back glad I did. I ordered the beef pad see ew and it was wonderful!! Fresh perfectly quick cooked broccoli with lots go meat and noodles. There was so much delicious gravy they had to serve it in a bowl. The food and dining area don't look the same as their Los Angeles and Torrance counterparts, but it tastes the same. Very juicy. Its set up like a fast food place and doesnt have the high dining ambiance of its counter parts in LA. In my opinion, its more expensive in LA because of the atmosphere and presentation. I've order for pick and delivery and I have to say been disappointed every time. I went to pick up the food after calling and left the house 30 mins later and my food still want ready. There was one customer eating and the place was basically empty. Can't believe I waited another 20 mins for my food even tho I called 30 mins before hand. I called for delivery recently and I waited over an hour before they finally called and said we are outside. The food was cold and didn't taste good at all. I talked to the driver and told him that I waited over an hour and the lady over the phone said 30-40 mins they will be here. The only excuse they gave me was they were really busy. I understand being busy but don't lie to the customer. I don't recommend this place at all. Bad customer service and the food could be better. If you have the time to wait forever while the place is dead then be my guest. If I could give this place a 1/4 star I would. They're better Thai food places to eat then this place. read more

We used to love coming to this place and getting take out about once a week for the past year or so. We've tried many items on the menu, but found their Garlic Tofu with rice, and also their Pad See Ew noodles were our favorites. Then something strange happened. Last week I called in our order for the Garlic Tofu and the Pad See Ew, plus an extra pad see ew that I asked them to make vegan, with tofu (I always say "No fish sauce and no oyster sauce"). The woman who took my order was in a hurry. After we got the meals home, I found that there was a small piece of fried meat of some sort in my vegan pad see ew, and the garlic tofu had an oyster sauce flavor to it (instead of just soy sauce for their vegan version). I debated on whether I should call the restaurant or not, and decided that I should as it could help with future orders for us and for other vegans. Mark, one of the managers was very helpful and apologetic. He kept saying that he would give us a credit for all 3 meals. I informed him that I wasn't worried about the money, but just wanted him to make sure all the employees knew that a vegan order meant no meat items at all, and no eggs, lard, fish sauce or oyster sauce, etc. He assured me that he'd talk with them, but insisted that we get the credit for the 3 meals on our next order. I accepted his offer but told him that one meal was as ordered, it was just the 2 vegan meals that had the issue, and said that I'd take the credit for the 2 meals, instead of 3. He agreed, took my name and phone number and asked me to remember his name should there be any problems when we place our replacement order. A few days later we decided to use our credit, and order 2 vegan meals with the credit, plus 1 non-vegan meal. I called the order in and Sam informed me that he couldn't find any info on a credit on our account, and no notes anywhere. I remembered Mark asking me to remember his name for any issues, and I gave Sam his name. Sam told me that he'd call Mark and call me back immediately. No one ever called us back. I attempted to call them about 30 minute later, but they didn't answer. After trying twice, I gave up. I see no reason to hound them for a credit for 2 meals. If you the reader remembers this, I stated that I even told Mark that I didn't want the credit as my concern is for my future orders to be vegan when I order a vegan meal, and I wanted him to teach the employees that. However he insisted that we take the credit and added it to our account (he said). Sam should have called us to say that they'd decided not to give us the credit, or Mark didn't remember us (highly unlikely), or whatever, instead of ignoring our calls and our order. So now they've lost 2 good, long-term customers. In the grand scheme of things, it probably won't affect their business, but vegans and vegetarians should be careful when ordering from here. Here's one tip in parting: Mark informed me that all their deep fried items (for example the vegetable spring rolls) are fried in LARD, so vegans shouldn't order those. The stir fries are cooked in a vegetable oil, so those can easily be veganized, he said. Goodbye Thai BBQ. read more

The fried rice was not how I expected and was probably one of the worst fried rice I've ever tried at a Thai place because it only came with a little bit of eggs and rice mixed together. Don't be deceived, it's not the "Thai Original BBQ" you think. I've been to the other Thai Original BBQ locations, and they were far superior than this. Quality of service usually sucks at these restaurants so expect your water and plates to be served at one side of the table. But this place is on a whole new level...they don't turn on the lights for you. Your silverware is tarnished like it's from the 1980s. This location doesn't serve the full menu. The server informed us that many of the menu items are "not being served anymore" (I tried to order the S-7, Dearest Crab). Aside from eating in the dark, crappy silverware, bad service: the food is pretty damn good (ordered the S-1). 2-stars because the dining experience sucked. This place is about a 2-minute walk from my home, so it is my go-to take-out choice. I've eaten here probably 20 times at least (maybe more) and I have never had a bad experience, ever. Husband usually gets the beef fried rice, and I usually get the green curry salmon. He loves his and I love mine! The curry is spicy yummy. I can usually get at least three meals out of it! Very generous with the salmon. The people here are extremely friendly and eager to please. Service is usually fast (maybe once or twice it has been a tiny bit slow when they were super busy). I love the big salt-water fish tank, too. There is usually something interesting to look at while waiting for the food. Prices are reasonable. Just can't complain. read more

A friend a couple years ago told me about Thai Bbq and now I have been going there for about 3 years. All there food is amazing and they are vegan and vegetarian friendly. They will make anything you like without meat and such. The service is great the delivery is super speedy. It is family own so most of the people who work there are related and are all super friendly. They always remember peoples faces and are never rude. I reccomend this place to eveyone I know who likes thai food and never had complains. They serve alot of food for a really good price. And ill never be able to pass up their thai ice tea.
