For birthdays and special events they customize the menus to write a small greeting which is very thoughtful! They do not give a free dessert (will put a candle in a dessert for you) but I would come again for a birthday celebration just for this personalized touch! The food was also sooo delicious! The gluten free focaccia bread surprised us the most as you couldn't even tell it was gluten free! However, the carrots were our favorite! I want to try to recreate them they were so good! Continuing on my Seattle series: we Los Angelenos decided to reserve one very nice dinner and came across the New American cuisine of Terra Plata and decided to give it a try. We got seated 15min before our reservation in a beautiful outdoor patio area on the roof (which I recommend asking for as inside is quite stuffy even on a cold evening). However, this is where the service started to teeter off: it took them 20 minutes to serve us water and ask if we had any questions which was confusing given they were so welcoming in the beginning. I really don't expect excellence from service, but this was really disappointing and sub-par. Anyways, onto the food. For most dishes, this was a nice rebound from the service incident. We went with the shishito peppers, carrots, duck confit, halibut, and oxtail bolognese. The real standout dishes in my opinion were the duck confit and oxtail bolognese which were absolutely fantastic. Everything else was very parallel to other places I have been to that overcharge for average to good appetizers and entrees. I would go again for a very specific palette of food, but besides that, it was a very 4 star experience and hope their service was just a bump in the road for us. read more

Wow we had a great experience here on Saturday night before the theater. Greeted warmly lat door we had a reservation and were a bit early so we got sat right away. We had a chance to look at the menu before we got there so started with the chips the were fresh and crunchy and the dip was tasty as well we had a wine and a Spanish gin it was great. Then moved on to the lamb and pig dishes we shared them it was a big portion glad we were on the hungry side the g/f focaccia bread was out of this world you can't tell the difference between that and a gluten one. Ended with the GF/DF chocolate panna cotta and churros which were a bit doughy but the pans cotta was out of this world table next to us had cheesecake have to go back for that. Came here on Paella night so I still have yet to try the main menu. The items are more on the pricier side, so it's a bit of a shame that the service we received was only sub par. We had ordered the Paella Marisco, however one of the people in our party was allergic to shellfish. Our server was kind enough to offer an alternative paella that was non-shellfish, but when the first paella came out, it took about 15-20 min to flag down our sever to ask about our second paella. At this point we have been seated for 45-60 min and did not want to wait additional time for them to start on the second paella, as it takes long to cook. First of all we were so excited about our evening here, It is my long term girlfriends 30th birthday and we chose to spend it here. Such a sad mistake. We were sat for our reservations but with the wrong menus i suppose? So a gentle quickly came over and swapped them out but they looked the same to me? It was very odd behavior. It's okay though press on. This is where it gets tragic.... After being sat they neglected us for 30 mins before someone came over and put a food order in. We were very hungry and looked forward to this meal all day. So the food takes awhile but to my instinct...... The food was pretty good! It was unacceptable to be ignored for that long and they knew it too, he tried to apologize for the "unnecessary long wait." Lastly It was her 30th birthday, we looked forward to this all day. Not one person in that restaurant said anything about it, not a happy birthday, not a here's a scoop of vanilla ice cream. One of gesture all night to imply someone cares about good service. It was our first date night out in three years. Despite the windy/rainy weather, we were able to stay warm on their covered rooftop patio with its charming twinkling lights, heaters, and plant boxes. With our youngest having an autoimmune disease, we continue to be careful when dining out so were grateful for their year round outdoor dining area. We had a wonderful experience and for the most part the evening was fantastic with great food and service. We sat down early at 5:30 pm on a Friday when we were one of two three tables on their rooftop outdoor while when we left most tables were filled. The first starters we tried were all delectable and reminded us some of our now shuttered favorite restaurants in Portland (Tasty 'n Sons and Paley's Place)--marrow bones were unctuous, charcuterie and cheese combo was innovative, and I'm still dreaming about the carrots. Our waiter was sweet and brought out champagne unprompted when he asked if we were celebrating a special moment but we explained we were making up for past anniversaries. Ironically both the service and food went down a bit in the back half as the restaurant became busier. The branzino fish served whole was unique but was a bit too fishy for me while the hanger steak was heavy. The desserts were equally mixed with the pine nut tart unusual but to my palate overpowered with the orange blossom crème anglais accompanying it and the chocolate mousse cake being heavy. Our waiter was great but we felt stranded waiting for the bill (he was I'm guessing not trying to rush us which is kind of him given we were there for over two hours). We definitely look forward to heading back but will stick with an early seating time when the restaurant is quiet and try to aim for lighter main dishes next time. read more

My friend and I came in before a show at the Paramount on a Thursday evening and had no problems getting a table. Restaurant was empty when we arrived but very quickly filled up so you want to make a reservation or arrive early. We split a few apps and an entree and we loved everything! All of the people working were so friendly and service was quick. For apps, my favorite was the beets but the shishitos and fries were great at well. We loved the steak and especially loved the sauce it came in! Restaurant is in a great location if you are looking for somewhere to eat before a show. I definitely plan to be back. read more

Came here for brunch with friends on a weekend and we loved their rooftop dining experience as it felt very Covid safe. We also brought along our baby and saw that another couple had done the same. High chairs are available! Food was solid. I enjoyed my fried chicken sandwich, my wife liked her biscuits with gravy, and the churros were *fantastic.* I'd come back just for those. There was so much food though, I actually couldn't finish all my churros and brought some home. They still tasted great hours later. Last night we had an amazing meal, as always at Terra Plata. The paella was cooked perfectly, nicely crisp on the bottom we loved that there were so many Spanish wines to choose from and the mulled wine was perfect for a cold and damp night. The only drawback was that we ran out of room for the Basque cheesecake, but will be back to try to achieve that summit another time! We also want to compliment our waiter, Kevin, who was attentive without being at all intrusive, and a really friendly face to welcome us, as was the hostess. All in all, we highly recommend this great Capitol Hill restaurant. read more

It was so cute and nice of them for helping make the day special for me. Our server also wished me a happy birthday which was nice. I loved the rooftop patio. It was super aesthetic and has lots of heaters for a cozy vibe. It's also covered which makes it good for rainy days as well! My favorite dish was the risotto. It had so much flavor and was so satisfying. The other dishes were okay but nothing stood out really. I thought a lot of their sauces were super acidic and tangy. Haven't been here for a while and decided to come for Seattle Restaurant Week (SRW). The physical restaurant is still welcoming with rustic furniture and large windows to watch the street life. We had the SRW special for $50 (appetizer, main, dessert). The gem lettuce salad consisted of 4 leaves of gem lettuce, some torn radicchio and 2 dabs of goat cheese. The broccoli serving was 4 thin stalks of broccolini but deliciously and richly prepared. The Portuguese pig was the hit of the night--very tender with baby clams and sausage, onions, tomatoes, and a potato. Really rich and would have benefited from some bread to soak up the wonderful sauce and bits. The chicken was less than a quarter of a small bird with a small slice of potato au gratin that was slightly undercooked. Nothing special but not bad. The flan was nicely garnished with kumquat. The blood orange cheesecake was delightfully light and a nice portion. Service was inattentive. We asked to get water refills. We sat for longer than necessary with dirty dishes. We watched the server eating dinner while we waited. No one else was helping us while he ate; they were prepping tables for the next day. We stumbled upon this place while walking around the area, and decided to come in for dinner. It was on a Thursday night, and we were seated at the bar since there was a long wait for a table. We all love the bar, and the Bartender was fantastic. He was so attentive. It was very lively with plenty of people inside, but it didn't feel too loud or chaotic. We were able to still feel an intimate vibe with our group. We didn't get a chance to check out the rooftop area, but it looked amazing from what we saw from the outside. The decor and ambiance inside was great. For the food, we absolutely loved everything we got. The bone marrow was one of the best we had with the capers and peaches giving great contrasting flavors. The roasted pork was super tender and a great portion size. The burger was huge and very filling, but also had great flavors. The lamb riblets were so so good with the sour cream sauce. The roasted beets was delicious as well with the blue cheese, orange slices, and roasted pistachios-- it all paired together beautifully. And lastly, those churros came out perfectly fresh and hot, and was so amazing dipped in the sauce. Make sure you mix up the sauce since it's dark chocolate at the bottom, and cream at the top. Overall, there were 4 of us, and we all left really full and very satisfied. We love stumbling upon great gems, and this was certainly one. read more

Came here to celebrate our 7th anniversary while on vacation in Seattle. A great location and plenty of parking. They were so welcoming and were able to accommodate us when we realized that I accidentally booked our reservation on the wrong day. They seated us on the roof deck at this high top table facing their little garden which was lovely. After our first course they found us a regular table and were able to seat us. We almost wanted to stay there because of the view! The food was spectacular. They are farm to table and everything is fresh and the menu changes frequently. The portions (on the small and larger plates) are generous and we were delightfully full at the end. Great cocktails and wine selections. Really attentive and friendly service and warm ambiance. I celebrated my birthday here the other week and it was all that I had wanted and more. When making the reservations they were highly attentive and asked about any special celebrations so I mentioned my birthday, a friend's birthday and our friend who is in town. We didn't mind since they have a large waiting area and they looked busy. We went upstairs to the rooftop and had the far end corner table. The tables were separated by clear plastic dividers due to COVID. Our group is always rambunctious esp since we haven't been together for some time so it was good that we had the far corner table. Lol We received the menu and it had our names! Imagine that. Seems like the high end restaurants who want to impress do this any more. Well, it did it's job because it had ALL 3 celebrations on there so were very happy as it was unexpected. So, we went all out! Why not... the menu looked great and my faves were the truffle chips (who wouldve known these woukd be so good!) The dip was like creme fraiche and it was suoer creamy and delish! My other fave item was the pig roast that had clams and sausage and t mhis to die for sauce I just couldn't get enough of! Terra Plata reprints their menu daily, which I get so excited about. They boast fresh, local ingredients, and it shows in their colorful dishes. However, they fall a bit short in a number of ways for me. The top patio tables are so crammed. When we were seated, we were uncomfortably close and wanted to move, but also didn't want to be those people, so we stuck it out. They seemed a bit understaffed. Our server was training, so at least they seem to be taking care of it, but he only checked on us once throughout our entire meal and wasn't helpful at all. I ordered the crudo as my entree, and while it was fresh and delicious, it was very clearly an appetizer size - it would have been nice to have had a heads up. The $45 steak was absolutely terrible. It was so gristly that it took my partner 45 minutes to finish it, and she kept having to discard pieces from a lack of being able to chew them. For the most expensive item on the menu to be a fail is a huge red flag in my book. I do love that they offer a number of alcohol-free drink options like a sparkling wine and a rose (actually delicious), as well as a non-alcoholic negroni. They also have a good selection of items that can be made gluten free. After a disappointing meal, our bill came to $122 before tip. For 2 drinks, 2 apps, and an almost-inedible entree, we were a little disappointed to have to pay so much. We most likely won't be back. read more

My favorite was the shishito peppers with the aoli... great savory side, I could've ordered 3 more portions! along with the cinnamon roll that was perfectly sweet. I like the rooftop place is very cute and unique for Seattle downtown/capitol hill area but few things were off. 1. Why they still check vaccine status? I dont get it we just have to learn how to live now further but some people will never get over pandemic with all this rules and mandates. Also masks? I had to put it while going to bathroom to remove my aligners. Bathroom was horrible by the way. 2. I know its more tapas style but dish for $38 each doesnt seems sharable it is a price of normal sized dish. My husbands branzino was good but my scallops were mediocre and so tiny portion. Food was very good. 3. Drinks were OK. I personally didnt tasted that bloody orange flavor nor my husband did. 4. Churros for $14 its a bit too much for few slices of deep fried dough I skipped it. 5.
