Terra Plata is a nicely designed spot with a cool farm-to-table concept, and the menu is thoughtfully organized around earth, sea, and land themes. I liked the overall ambiance and how intentional everything felt. However, the service was a bit slow and rude. The hostess greeted us and said she would get us a table, and then proceeded to walk around the restaurant for 10 minutes, slowly getting a table together while doing other tasks and ignoring us by avoiding looking in our direction. The hayshaker farm roasted beets were pretty good considering I'm not usually a beet person. The hand-cut frites were decent and could've used more crispiness, but I really liked the dipping sauce. The wild mushroom risotto had a great mix of mushrooms and had a nice balance of creaminess and bite. The Taylor Shellfish mussels and clams were my favorite. We got a Sea Wolf Bakery baguette on the side to soak up what was left of the sauce, and when combined with the seafood, was a nice combo.
We ordered off their restaurant week menu, and overall, the meal was mid. Nothing spectacular and relatively pricey, so didn't find it worth the cost. Favorite dishes: - basque cheesecake had this delicious granola - shishito peppers had a nice crunch to it Not favorite dishes: - burrata bread was v hard - churros were too doughy - salmon glaze was too sweet, rice too mushy - risotto flavor was too rich & strong (like, stinky cheese strong), too much for my liking So overall, underwhelmed. Though the place had cute aesthetic. And service was good! But personally, I'm not likely to return for awhile...
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Cap. The menu changes frequently, but I have never been disappointed in any of their dishes, or drinks for that matter. The downstairs seating area has full sliding doors, so even if you can't get rooftop seating it's still a fun and open space for a nice summer evening. Reservations are usually a good idea, as it does get busy pretty quick, especially as the weather warms up.
Food Been here for a couple of times. This time, 1. There was hair in the dipping sauce of our fries 2. Cocktails were not the best. Kinda misleading with the info 3. Some of the chicken was not fully cooked 4. Risotto could use some seasoning Service was fine. Servers were attentive. Ambiance- if you want outdoor dining, try this restaurant.
Went here for valentines day and secured a table on the beautiful rooftop. The place is beautiful done with indoor and outdoor( rooftop) seating. The server we had was great and suggested great stuff . The food and drinks though were nothing great. We had the albacore crudo, baguette , mushroom risotto and the pistachio dessert all of which tasted mediocre.
I want to like Terra Plata more than I do. The rooftop is beautiful and a lovely place to sit. However, the quality and portions do not justify the prices. Most recently, I came here for brunch. My drink, a spritz, was delicious, though pricey at $19.00. Strawberry crepes: just ok, and $17.00 for a diminutive portion of middling crepes. Pork belly & kimchi hash: excellent flavors, though was comprised nearly entirely of potato. There were only a few nibbles of pork belly. Avocado toast: my dining companion was displeased with the crunchiness of the bread and found it annoying to eat. The prices are just mind boggling. The value isn't there at all. For instance, the pork belly hash is 28$ with maybe 1oz of pork belly total; at Barking Frog in Woodinville, 28$ gets a plate with both several strips of bacon AND 2 sausages (and 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and a similar quantity of potatoes)
came here on a saturday for late brunch after a resy fell through at another place and was seated immediately downstairs (upstairs was had no space for a party of 6) the drinks were decent, i tried the forbiden rice drink and it tasted like a creamier horchata. the patatas bravas was a pretty large serving to split among 6 and was perfectly crisp. Also ordered the churros but they were just decent imo. Not sure what I was expecting with the croque madame but it was okay and had a heavy mustardy flavor. The portion was very large tho! Pricy as expected the total came out to $300 for 6 people with drinks. Our server was amazing and so friendly saw that we gave a friend a birthday present and without us asking brought out a free birthday flan at the end which was so sweet of them!
Came in for a quick solo meal on a work trip. Place was big and nicely lit. A bit noisy but not too bad. Bartender was nice. Ordered the roast pig, GL focaccia, and a cocktail and glass of wine. I saw the focaccia was GF which i usually stay away from but decided to gamble. Honestly it was pretty damn good. Nice and crispy. I'd prefer reg focaccia but it was nice if you didn't think of it as focaccia and instead an airy loaf of dipping bread. The pork was awesome. Massive portion. Very tender meat. Lots of potatoes and onions. The broth was very well seasoned and it was great for dipping bread in. I'd definitely order it again. Overall quality meal. Cool atmosphere. Good service. Will be back.
Stopped in on a Friday night and the restaurant had a nice sized crowd. We sat in the upstairs patio area which was a nice atmosphere, if not a bit chilly. Our picnic style chairs were a bit wobbly, but it wasn't bad enough to take away too much from the meal. Everything that came out of the kitchen was all solid, if not a tad overpriced. The chips with truffle sour cream were a surprise and very good. Fries were nothing crazy, but well executed. Really enjoyed the tomato pasta and lamb ribletts. Lots of really bright flavors happening in the main courses which we enjoyed. The olives were just okay. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall a really good meal, but a bit uneven at times in terms of execution. Still worthy of a try.
Alright, let me begin by saying that this place is a 5 star restaurant, if we were solely judging the place by the quality of the food. However, it loses a star due to the behavior of 2 of their hostesses, let me explain. Me and my wife were visiting from San Jose, and after trying all the recommended restaurants and activities in town, we decided to venture out and find a place on our own. That's when we came across Terra Plata. Judging by the people there, and the overall ambiance, we could tell it was one of those places where rich people go to feel rich. It's always a hit or miss with places like that, but as long as the food is good, I can deal with being around those types of people. It was a Monday, and as we passed by, we noticed the restaurant was only half full, and decided to pop in to see if the food was any good. A lady greeted us awkwardly, and told us they only take reservations, and she couldn't seat us. We could tell that was a lie, but what could we say? Nothing, so we left. The next day, we were having some coffee at Starbucks reserve, and afterwards, we saw they had 0 customers, so we decided to stop by again, and see if a different host would seat us. This time, there was a blonde girl, who told us that we could only stay until 5:45 if she seated us. It was 4:00, and even though that was a very strange thing for her to say, we looked past it and sat down to eat. Our waiter was great, he knew everything there was to know about the menu, and he wasn't stuckup and strange like the hostesses. He made excellent recommendations, and was very attentive to our table. At this point, the hostess had seated 2 other couples, and we never once heard her tell them that they had to leave by 5:45. Then the hostess (not the waiter) comes up and asks if we ordered drinks. We said we were fine with water, and in a rude way she responded "would you like to order drinks?" I couldn't believe her attitude, it was almost as if she was suspicious about us being in there. Mind you, we aren't slobs, we don't dress like bums, we don't have blue hair or anything like that. I'm Armenian and my wife is Iraqi, she doesn't wear a hijab, and we are clean cut people. We do look like we come from though, we are middle eastern! All I can assume, is that there was a racial motivation behind the behavior of these particular hostesses. It's strange to me, that everytime I experience racism, it's at an establishment that displays pride and blm materials, like Terra Plata does right upon entering. The interesting thing is, that the tables next to us, were actually really nice people, and not as elitist as the hostesses seemed to be. It's usually the other way around back home in California. In closing, come for the food, it was amazing. The best steak I've ever had was here. The server was a true gentlemen, and the restaurant was very clean as well. I just wish the hostesses practiced what they preach when it comes to acceptance of minorities, and people of color, instead of pretending they do for social credit amongst people who look just like them.
Terra Plata was the perfect spot before our show at Climate Pledge Arena! The food was incredible -- so fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Loved the fun, lively vibe and friendly service too. Such a great way to kick off the night -- I'll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our time here. From the hostess to the waiters, the service was appreciated and friendly. The ambiance of the rooftop was great for a variety of occasions. The evening was a little chilly and we were provided the softest blankets ever to accompany the heat lamps. The food was a delight. All hits and no misses. The plates were good for sharing. Looking at the dishes people at other tables were having has looking forward to coming back to try everything else. read more

This place is killing it! Brunch! Rooftop! Silvia serving! Craft cocktails! Menu and craft cocktails are on point. I admit I consider this place hit and miss, but today it was above average spectacular!!! read more
Came here on a Saturday night and the place decently busy. We were able to catch a seat up on the rooftop which was nice. The only downer was from the moment we sat down to when we got our food it took almost an hour. Which sucks when you're paying $6/hr parking. So service was spotty I get it they were busy but if they cannot up hold adequate service for everybody do not sit as many people. The food however was amazingly delicious. The ribs would fall right off the bone and we also got the churros for dessert. Love how the meal are shareable. Great spot for the view and aesthetic otherwise not too sure if I'd come again. read more

Wow we came here for a birthday rooftop dinner for 16, and we were IMPRESSED! This place had it all, great food, good service, and delicious cocktails! We had a custom chef curated menu which included some incredible items! ATMOSPHERE: romantic and whimsical especially at night with all the string lights on the roof FOOD: rare unicorn where the atmosphere AND the food are phenomenal. We were served the best items on their menu family style which was the perfect pre set course meal for a group our size. The truffle fries were so good! Also the peach and goat cheese salad was delicious!! We really enjoyed the lamb risotto, and the heirloom beets! The short ribs were awesome as was the churros!! read more
Continuing on my Seattle series: we Los Angelenos decided to reserve one very nice dinner and came across the New American cuisine of Terra Plata and decided to give it a try. We got seated 15min before our reservation in a beautiful outdoor patio area on the roof (which I recommend asking for as inside is quite stuffy even on a cold evening). However, this is where the service started to teeter off: it took them 20 minutes to serve us water and ask if we had any questions which was confusing given they were so welcoming in the beginning. I really don't expect excellence from service, but this was really disappointing and sub-par. Anyways, onto the food. For most dishes, this was a nice rebound from the service incident. We went with the shishito peppers, carrots, duck confit, halibut, and oxtail bolognese. The real standout dishes in my opinion were the duck confit and oxtail bolognese which were absolutely fantastic. Everything else was very parallel to other places I have been to that overcharge for average to good appetizers and entrees. I would go again for a very specific palette of food, but besides that, it was a very 4 star experience and hope their service was just a bump in the road for us. read more

Our experience was truly amazing we sat in the terrace. Top floor with an amazing view. We were greeted with champagne and personalized menus with our names on them, which was such a thoughtful touch. The menu even included a note about our anniversary, making the occasion even more special. I had the olive oil pancakes, and my partner had a pork dish--both were absolutely delicious. The pancakes, in particular, were incredible and left a lasting impression. The only downside is that the menu changes frequently, so some favorites may not always be available. That said, I'm sure the new items are just as wonderful. To the restaurant: Please let me know when the olive oil pancakes make a return--I'd gladly make another trip to Seattle just for those!" read more

Food was excellent, five stars, but the service was incredibly slow. It took them 30 min to bring a glass of wine and a beer and then another 30 for a couple dishes. We asked for the check before our 3rd dish came out at an hour and a half so we could eat it and leave. I really enjoyed the food, so it's sad that they can't get the timing right. It was not that busy... read more

Came here on Paella night so I still have yet to try the main menu. The items are more on the pricier side, so it's a bit of a shame that the service we received was only sub par. We had ordered the Paella Marisco, however one of the people in our party was allergic to shellfish. Our server was kind enough to offer an alternative paella that was non-shellfish, but when the first paella came out, it took about 15-20 min to flag down our sever to ask about our second paella. At this point we have been seated for 45-60 min and did not want to wait additional time for them to start on the second paella, as it takes long to cook. Unfortunately one of us left the restaurant hungry and we had to stop by a burger spot afterward. read more

We came for my birthday actually and it was such a cute surprise how they wrote happy birthday on the menu! For birthdays and special events they customize the menus to write a small greeting which is very thoughtful! They do not give a free dessert (will put a candle in a dessert for you) but I would come again for a birthday celebration just for this personalized touch! The food was also sooo delicious! The gluten free focaccia bread surprised us the most as you couldn't even tell it was gluten free! However, the carrots were our favorite! I want to try to recreate them they were so good! I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a nice and relaxing experience to celebrate an event! This was the perfect rooftop bar experience! read more
Had dinner here with colleagues. Sat outside on the roof deck which was wonderful. Server was super nice but drinks were slow to arrive. Came on a Monday night which is paella night-- paella was ok, inconsistent between the two. One had rice that was cook but dry. Other was undercooked, a little crunchy, and dry. Seafood was fine. Also had the leek gratin which was delicious! Grilled grapes so-so. Nectarine salad was fine but nothing special. Cocktails were good. My pisco sour was quite nice. Would give atmosphere 4.5, food 3. Won't come back. Disappointed-- reviews did not align with our expectations and experience sadly. read more

Food was great! Service was very quick they upgraded our seating to the rooftop when we had reservations so that was super cool! I think I found a new favorite spot in Seattle! I came here for my mom's birthday dinner, and we sat on their rooftop. It was so dreamy sitting among all the foliage, especially with the warm weather. I love that they added "Happy Birthday Lisa" as a special touch to her night. The service was great, and the food was delicious, especially the Paella! I can't wait to come back. :) read more
It was our first date night out in three years. Despite the windy/rainy weather, we were able to stay warm on their covered rooftop patio with its charming twinkling lights, heaters, and plant boxes. With our youngest having an autoimmune disease, we continue to be careful when dining out so were grateful for their year round outdoor dining area. We had a wonderful experience and for the most part the evening was fantastic with great food and service. We sat down early at 5:30 pm on a Friday when we were one of two three tables on their rooftop outdoor while when we left most tables were filled. The first starters we tried were all delectable and reminded us some of our now shuttered favorite restaurants in Portland (Tasty 'n Sons and Paley's Place)--marrow bones were unctuous, charcuterie and cheese combo was innovative, and I'm still dreaming about the carrots. Our waiter was sweet and brought out champagne unprompted when he asked if we were celebrating a special moment but we explained we were making up for past anniversaries. Ironically both the service and food went down a bit in the back half as the restaurant became busier. The branzino fish served whole was unique but was a bit too fishy for me while the hanger steak was heavy. The desserts were equally mixed with the pine nut tart unusual but to my palate overpowered with the orange blossom crème anglais accompanying it and the chocolate mousse cake being heavy. Our waiter was great but we felt stranded waiting for the bill (he was I'm guessing not trying to rush us which is kind of him given we were there for over two hours). We definitely look forward to heading back but will stick with an early seating time when the restaurant is quiet and try to aim for lighter main dishes next time. read more

Open-aired spot with rooftop dining! Service is really good here. Food was delicious. This was a party of 10 for a graduation and they kept the food coming at just the right cadence. Beautiful bar and interesting cocktails. Unusual arrangement that meant we didn't feel crowded even on a busy Saturday night. I would come back! read more

My friend and I came in before a show at the Paramount on a Thursday evening and had no problems getting a table. Restaurant was empty when we arrived but very quickly filled up so you want to make a reservation or arrive early. We split a few apps and an entree and we loved everything! All of the people working were so friendly and service was quick. For apps, my favorite was the beets but the shishitos and fries were great at well. We loved the steak and especially loved the sauce it came in! Restaurant is in a great location if you are looking for somewhere to eat before a show. I definitely plan to be back. read more
Came here for brunch with friends on a weekend and we loved their rooftop dining experience as it felt very Covid safe. We also brought along our baby and saw that another couple had done the same. High chairs are available! Food was solid. I enjoyed my fried chicken sandwich, my wife liked her biscuits with gravy, and the churros were *fantastic.* I'd come back just for those. There was so much food though, I actually couldn't finish all my churros and brought some home. They still tasted great hours later. Of note: you have to walk through the restaurant and go up a flight of stairs in order to get to the roof. read more

I came here to celebrate my birthday with my friends! When we went in we were taken to our seats on the outside patio and given a menus that said Happy Birthday on it! It was so cute and nice of them for helping make the day special for me. Our server also wished me a happy birthday which was nice. I loved the rooftop patio. It was super aesthetic and has lots of heaters for a cozy vibe. It's also covered which makes it good for rainy days as well! My favorite dish was the risotto. It had so much flavor and was so satisfying. The other dishes were okay but nothing stood out really. I thought a lot of their sauces were super acidic and tangy. It was good but I wish there was more variety in the flavors. The roast pork was kinda dry. Overall, I would come back for the ambiance and the risotto! read more

Came here on a whim for dinner. Love the space - dimly lit but not super dark. Cozy vibes. We sat at the bar and it was a great choice! Our bartender/server was awesome. Some friends and I made reservations here for a friend's birthday. They printed a special menu for her with her name on it, which was a lovely touch to the drizzly rooftop (covered and heated) vibe. We ordered a handful of drinks and dishes, wanting to sample as many things as we could. I cannot remember all of the drinks we ordered, but I do remember my favorite - the Seattle Raindrop. It was refreshing and hit the spot! The food was also delicious! I loved the shishito peppers and the mussels and clams dish. The sauce with those mussels and clams were *chef's kiss* - the roasted cauliflower and roast pig were also really tasty, so overall it was quite a nice dining experience. read more

We stumbled upon this place while walking around the area, and decided to come in for dinner. It was on a Thursday night, and we were seated at the bar since there was a long wait for a table. We all love the bar, and the Bartender was fantastic. He was so attentive. It was very lively with plenty of people inside, but it didn't feel too loud or chaotic. We were able to still feel an intimate vibe with our group. We didn't get a chance to check out the rooftop area, but it looked amazing from what we saw from the outside. The decor and ambiance inside was great. For the food, we absolutely loved everything we got. The bone marrow was one of the best we had with the capers and peaches giving great contrasting flavors. The roasted pork was super tender and a great portion size. The burger was huge and very filling, but also had great flavors. The lamb riblets were so so good with the sour cream sauce. The roasted beets was delicious as well with the blue cheese, orange slices, and roasted pistachios-- it all paired together beautifully. And lastly, those churros came out perfectly fresh and hot, and was so amazing dipped in the sauce. Make sure you mix up the sauce since it's dark chocolate at the bottom, and cream at the top. Overall, there were 4 of us, and we all left really full and very satisfied. We love stumbling upon great gems, and this was certainly one. read more

Came here to celebrate our 7th anniversary while on vacation in Seattle. A great location and plenty of parking. They were so welcoming and were able to accommodate us when we realized that I accidentally booked our reservation on the wrong day. They seated us on the roof deck at this high top table facing their little garden which was lovely. After our first course they found us a regular table and were able to seat us. We almost wanted to stay there because of the view! The food was spectacular. They are farm to table and everything is fresh and the menu changes frequently. The portions (on the small and larger plates) are generous and we were delightfully full at the end. Great cocktails and wine selections. Really attentive and friendly service and warm ambiance. Really recommend it if you're looking for a meal for a special occasion or a special treat! read more

I like the rooftop place is very cute and unique for Seattle downtown/capitol hill area but few things were off. 1. Why they still check vaccine status? I dont get it we just have to learn how to live now further but some people will never get over pandemic with all this rules and mandates. Also masks? I had to put it while going to bathroom to remove my aligners. Bathroom was horrible by the way. 2. I know its more tapas style but dish for $38 each doesnt seems sharable it is a price of normal sized dish. My husbands branzino was good but my scallops were mediocre and so tiny portion. Food was very good. 3. Drinks were OK. I personally didnt tasted that bloody orange flavor nor my husband did. 4. Churros for $14 its a bit too much for few slices of deep fried dough I skipped it. 5. Ambience was nice and rooftop definitely is nice vibe but for casual week day dinner we paid $140 its a bit too much. But overall service was OK nothing special. read more
I celebrated my birthday here the other week and it was all that I had wanted and more. When making the reservations they were highly attentive and asked about any special celebrations so I mentioned my birthday, a friend's birthday and our friend who is in town. Parking seems like it would br difficult but I was able to find a spot closeby. The group waited to be seated - we made rez but they weren't ready and it was ok. We didn't mind since they have a large waiting area and they looked busy. We went upstairs to the rooftop and had the far end corner table. The tables were separated by clear plastic dividers due to COVID. Our group is always rambunctious esp since we haven't been together for some time so it was good that we had the far corner table. Lol We received the menu and it had our names! Imagine that. Seems like the high end restaurants who want to impress do this any more. Well, it did it's job because it had ALL 3 celebrations on there so were very happy as it was unexpected. So, we went all out! Why not... the menu looked great and my faves were the truffle chips (who wouldve known these woukd be so good!) The dip was like creme fraiche and it was suoer creamy and delish! My other fave item was the pig roast that had clams and sausage and t mhis to die for sauce I just couldn't get enough of! We order many other things like the bone marrow and halibut, and plenty of drinks! As the sun set it was a perfect back drop to take some social media pics (: Highly recommend to take friends and be merry!!! Waht a great neighborhood and locarion with many uniquely different must visit places to experience. read more
Great veg-friendly food in Capital Hill. Rooftop is fab when the weather is nice. ~ Seattle Raindrop was a fab cocktail. I liked this one better than the butterfly pea flower gin & tonic which was pretty, but not my taste. ~ Small plates are great for a group that likes to share. I was a fan of all of them- frites, little gem salad, roasted carrots, a yummy pasta, tomato salad, albacore, mussels & clams It was all very tasty! read more

The ambiance on the rooftop was just charming. I am incredibly disappointed in the service which was obsolete. This is my first time having Paella. It was beautiful but very dry. I choose not to bring the leftovers home. I may try it again, but for the price I would be hesitant. read more
How can you not like roof top dining here in the city?! Ambiance was superb ... even the indoor dining is nice with seating next to floor to ceiling windows that are open to the activists on the street. The food was excellent. The big winner was their tomato dish.... That unexpectedly took me by surprise! Savory and juicy, delivering a mouthful of excitement Service was hit and miss. Some waitress just did not care one bit and looked angry being there. While the waiter was beaming with delight and took the time to go over the dishes. read more
