    Cocktail

This is a staple of pasta restaurants in Seattle. You know what you get, and what you get is good. Options are limited, which I think is nice. You don't come here to flip through a menu of a breadth of options, you come here for pasta. Sure, there are a few mains to select from too, but really - it's about the pasta. Did I mention they have great pasta? Staff is friendly and service is attentive and quick. On this particular evening I did not have a reservation, showed up and was told it would probably be around 30mins to get a table; was texted 15mins later and seated within a few minutes of stepping back through the door. Cocktail arrived 5mins after seating - happy place reached! Dishes come as they are prepared, there's no guarantee in order or timing but it usually works out well. Me and my company shared a started, and our pastas arrived within a minute of each other. The place is small. It's tight between tables, yet strangely intimate. You rarely get distracted by the conversations of the table next to you. The background noise can sometimes be a bit of a heavy blanket, and depending on your seating and time of your visit, you may have to lean in to hear your conversation without having to raise your voice, but in general it's around an average noise level for a busy restaurant. This is my "go to" when I'm in or around Capitol Hill and don't really know what I want but don't want to gamble on a new experience.

I had a great experience dining here. A friend was in town and we wanted to grab dinner somewhere. We originally tried to go to Spinasse, but they didn't take walk-ins. Luckily, Artusi was right next to us & they had availability (we got there around 9 PM). The hostess was amazing and our waitress was also incredibly nice. Please note you have to be 21 to dine here and they checked my ID twice. The inside is very cute with the dim lighting. No loud music, so a perfect place to have dinner with a nice conversation. We got a bread appetizer to share & we had 3 people, so the waitress was nice enough to throw in an extra slice. The carrot whipped ricotta was a very interesting flavor & you could really taste the carrot. The bread was also cold and hard, so I would opt for a different appetizer next time. All of our main dishes were incredible. The portions were also great. I got the Tonnarelli as a vegetarian option. It's more on the heavier side, but i usually like that with my pastas. Would definitely get again. For dessert, we got the tiramisu which was amazing. I don't even like coffee, but i was able to eat this. We also stayed past their closing time without realizing. I felt so bad as we were leaving, but they were all still very nice to us! Really enjoyed this experience.

The pasta here is pretty good but the unexpected highlight of the night was the fry bread appetizer. Omg, this item felt unassuming to me but I seriously considered ordering a second one even after I was full because the texture of the fry bread was just so light and fluffy and hit with olive oil and flaky salt, it shined by itself. However, there was also prosciutto cotto and then the butter and chimchurri? It was amazing. everything else was good but not super memorable and we also got a corn and bacon pasta where the fresh noodles were of good texture.

Wow I really enjoyed my meal here! One of the best meatballs I've ever had and I really enjoyed the sauce with the Tonnarelli. Was a refreshing and light meal. Boyfriend had the short rib, it was tender and delicious. Only reason I would hesitate to stop by again and not a 5/5 is the price and portion size. Felt pricey for the size of the meal you get. If it was like 1.5 x bigger portion I would feel satisfied! Unfortunately I left feeling a bit hungry still. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance felt modern and welcoming.

Artusi is so good! We initially intended to go to Spinasse next door but landed here instead. It ended up being their Wine and Pasta deal Monday, so we did that and got the appetizer / antipasti plate and some dessert! Overall it was so delicious, pasta portions felt on the smaller side but the quality was there. Definitely will be coming back. Highly recommend the antipasti platter, the fry bread was 10/10 as well as the burrata and other fixins. We were seated right away at the bar when we got there at 6, and the restaurant was starting to fill up. It's a small space but it's layed out well and feels very NYC. Staff were so lovely too.

I recently visited Artusi, and I was surprised to learn it's actually the sister restaurant of Spinasse, one of the best Italian spots in Seattle. Even though they sit right next to each other, it's not obvious they're affiliated until you ask the staff. One of the best perks is that you can order Spinasse's famously delicious, house-made pasta here--definitely a huge plus. Unfortunately, we had other plans that night, so we couldn't try the pasta, but it's on my list for next time. We stopped by around 4 PM for happy hour. The menu is a little limited on the food side, but the cocktails more than made up for it--they were incredible, balanced, and beautifully done. The space itself is small, so you'll hear conversations around you, but it's not overly loud or distracting. The décor feels classy and comfortable--perfect for a casual date or even a business meet-up without being overly fancy. Another bonus is the small garage next door where parking is just $4 per hour, which is rare and very convenient for Capitol Hill. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Artusi for drinks, a light bite, or a cozy date night. And the fact that they share so much with Spinasse makes it even more of a win.

Ok first of all, the pasta is out of this world. You can taste the freshness of it and I'm so glad I finally got an opportunity to go here. We went on a Sunday for the 2 pasta and a bottle of wine special (what a deal. You really can't miss it! It's also on Monday too). The pesto on the pasta of the day was so fresh and delicious, it's going to be tough to beat a pesto like that. The restaurant invites a lot of natural lighting which I loved and the service was awesome. Super quick and really accommodating :)

Came for pasta night - 2 pastas and a bottle of wine for $47 on Sundays and Mondays. Ordered the house bread for $5, which was made worth it by the incredible rosemary butter. Also had the tonarelli pasta, which was sort of a small portion but good enough (creamy and flavorful but sort of too simple). The house rose was nice and crisp. Food came out very fast!

Came here on a Monday at 5:30 and it was already crowded! We did the 2 pastas and a bottle of wine for $50. Definitely a steal. We also ordered an app to start, the burrata. It was absolutely delicious and a great dish with some veggies to start. I really liked the nightly pasta with prosciutto and cream sauce. I kind of forgot what else was in it.. but it was delicious. We shared about a glass each of wine and they let you take the rest of the bottle home. Super awesome! Would def recommend to go again.

Came here for an early dinner with some friends. Has more of a high end type of vibe with its classy decor. I definitely felt like I wasn't dressed well enough for the place. Especially since my friends and I decided to walk 15 minutes in the sun to get there. Did not like feeling sweaty and gross when I went in. Anyways, we had the option of tap or sparkling water, but they never tell you that they'll charge you for the sparkling which I'm a bit pissed about when I saw that on my bill. Like I had a feeling, but the service made it seem like I wouldn't be charged. Kind of messed up. Anyways, I never understood the appeal of aperol because I had it in Italy before and didn't like it. I thought I'd try it again and it still isn't for me. Sorry. Anyways, I got the tonnarelli pasta and it was quite good. I can't say the tiramisu was that great. Why is it so hard to find good tiramisu?! Maybe I just don't know what good tiramisu is. I don't know, but it didn't meet my expectations. Sadness. Would I come back? Yeah, pasta was great. Service was fine other than the whole sparkling water thing. And I do like the fancy ambiance. Totally would come back.

Wait time for a table at Spinasse was over 2 hours , so we did the next best thing and got two seats at the bar at Artusi. Great experience and got to watch and speak with the chefs making our food. Fresh pasta and flavorful dishes! Loved the beehive countertop!

    Potato Artichoke Salad

We made reservations with our friend that unfortunately suffered a major migraine and couldn't join us. The hostess seemed irritated that a four top had been reserved and now we were only two. She offered us two options - sit outside or at the chef's counter. We opted for the counter. Meanwhile, the entire hour we were there, our table sat empty as were five other tables. Our server appeared behind us with a quick "Hi" and to take our order. We got a really terrific Amari cocktail and a glass of wine to drink with our bread/oil and potato artichoke salad. The salad was pretty pedestrian and nothing too special. For mains, we tried the mini ravioli with mushrooms and the pasta special - salmon with cheese and bread crumbs that reminded us of tuna noodle casserole. The pastas in both dishes were very delicate and well prepared. No need to mention the small portions as others have pointed out. My wife's ravioli was so small, we added two meatballs to our order. Those were drowned in salt and garlic and roughly ground, not nuanced or tender. I've sat at other chef counters where the chef actually interacts with diners or offers an amuse bouche or special taste of something. The two gentlemen cooking did not even make eye contact with us. For the price point and critical acclaim, we expected a lot more. The service was okay but not very warm nor welcoming and the food decent but not "WOW" good.

I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned.
