I stopped by Tepito's Coffee Shop while shopping at Vroman's and had a great experience. I was in the mood for an iced coffee with low sugar, and the barista was incredibly helpful in guiding me to the perfect option. The space itself really stood out as it was spacious, welcoming, and thoughtfully decorated with Latin-inspired touches that give it a unique and vibrant vibe. I especially appreciate that it's a Latin-owned business with a clear sense of purpose and connection to the community. The coffee was delicious and refreshing, exactly what I was hoping for. I'll definitely be back!

Latino owned Tepito Coffee recently celebrated its 3-year anniversary in Pasadena with a bash! Out front cool cars were on display and there was a DJ spinning tunes. Inside they were giving away free Homeboy Coffee cake with purchase and selling limited edition Tees designed by Estevan Oriol, who was also at the event along with reps from Homeboy Industries, which is a great organization. It's adjacent to Vroman's so you can enter through the bookstore or on Colorado. This place has been on my radar and I'm grateful my darling girls invited me to join them so I could finally check it out. Our order consisted of: Adelita Latte, Horchata Latte, Café de Olla & a Jalapeño Croissant. Both lattes had a nice balance of coffee, milk, & spices. Neither one was too sweet. The Café de Olla was also lovely - bold, smooth, with a hint of orange & spices. The croissant was soft, fresh, & yummy. We also received a complimentary slice of Homeboy Coffee Cake, which I love! Tepito uses coffee beans that are grown and produced by Pecora 1909 in Veracruz, Mexico. You can taste the quality in the brew. Their partnership with Homeboy led me to do a little more research on this company where I learned about their Homie2Homie monthly gathering. It's a great supportive platform for the Latino community. This makes me happy to support this company and I wish them continued success.

While it is located at Vroman's Bookstore, it has an entrance off Colorado with indoor and outdoor sitting available. Every time I've been, their dinning area has been clean. Staff is always friendly. My go to is the Adelita Latte & my husband's is the Horchata Latte. Looking forward to trying their cafe de Olla next. We always get a pastry as well. My favorite is the blueberry cheese danish. I've also had the Turkey & Pepper Jack Cheese Croissant, and guava croissant.

Tepito Coffee is adjacent to Vroman's bookstore. There's some indoor seating, perfect for doing some studying. I waited about fifteen minutes for my drink which was a bit longer than I had anticipated for a Wednesday afternoon. I got the Mocha, but I felt like the sweetness was too overpowering. I would probably get something else and give Tepitos another try next time!

You need to change the size of your regular size. The cappuccino is outrageously small for seven dollars!! The espresso was not strong. It was weak. Also, they only have one espresso maker, which means only one cup of coffee can be made at a time. I think I waited over 10 minutes for this tiny little cappuccino.

Delicious coffee crafted from beans harvested in Veracruz. Wonderful location perfectly adjoined to a bookstore. Service was prompt and amicable. Space was clean and orderly, do try!

I've been wanting to support this coffee business for some time now and finally made it. The owner has a great story and I'm a fan. He also partners with Homeboy Industries. I'm so digging the vibe, love the decor, colors and music. There were many patrons working at tables as well as those just enjoying their drinks. I ordered the large hot latte with a dash of cinnamon. It wasn't bad at all however a tad on the pricy side for an $8 cup. The latte tasted good just more of milk for me liking. It's inside of the Vroman's bookstore and has its own entrance on Colorado and also accessible through the bookstore. Plenty of free parking behind in the lot. The make Barista was attentive to those waking in and out and made a great effort welcoming and bidding farewell. I'll be back to try my drink again.

my go to study spot in pasadena!! my favorites are their horchata latte and adelita latte, but their chai latte is also delicious. they have good wifi and indoor/outdoor seating. staff is also very friendly and welcoming. there is no bathroom but vromans has one on the second floor if needed. parking is also only 90 minutes in the vromans parking lot but i was able to stay for my 5 hour study session.

3/29/25 This coffee & tea house (Tepito) is attached to Vromans, entrance facing Colorado Blvd, convenient. Clean, fairly quiet with a few indoor & a couple of outdoor seating. Simple. Efficient staff, as one was closing up & another took my order & crafted my mocha latte. There are a few pastries offered in the glass case, looks good. My mocha latte was ready in about 5 minutes, it was a bit plain, the mocha flavor did not shine through. Maybe next time I will have it customized further so I may enjoy it more. A few patrons are hanging out inside the small cafe. The other entrance/exit leads to inside of Vromans Bookstore. Would likely return to this shop when I'm in Pasadena while checking out the bookstore next door. I like the vibe in here.

Tepito is an adorable Latino-owned coffee shop inside the oldest independent bookstore in SoCal, @vromansbookstore! It was absolutely one of my favorite spots yet. I've lived in LA for fourteen years and still hadn't ever been here! It was honestly even better than the hype. It was HUGE, and the kids area upstairs was amazing. They have such a great variety of books and games/toys, and even have a weekly story time on Wednesdays! It felt like the kind of place you could really sit and enjoy your book. The coffee shop was an amazing addition! It's right inside, with a pretty large coffee menu and a few pastries. Absolutely come here with any age kid to read and play while you enjoy your coffee!

I really enjoyed the coffee, since it was my first time I asked what do they recommend they gave me their recommendations very helpful no attitude at all. So I give the customer service a 10 out of 10 even the other people that were working there were so friendly and saying hello there is space for you to sit down and study and there's also books store right next to it so if you wanna go buy a book and then go to the coffee shop and read your book. It is a very good place to have me time. I did not try the food because I was not hungry, but they do have pastries there as well. Definitely recommend stop by if you're in the Pasadena area.

Sooooo good ! Their drinks are unbelievable . It's amazing how they get the quality and taste even in the most simple drinks. I would grab my coffee from here every day and not get tired of this place. Definitely one of the best coffee shops for me

The minute I walked in, the aroma of the coffee and baked goods just organically welcomed me IN! Walked in this morning at 10:15AM, and was greeted by Stephanie. All the people behind the counter were genuinely super nice and friendly, and I am going to leave it at that. Some places can be pretentious and I don't like that. I didn't get that vibe here. Loved it. They have many different options of baked goods, hot and cold beverages, salads, sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and more. They also serve wine. Very unique and interesting. Some coffee shops do serve wine. Love wine, but not in the mornings/afternoons:-)). So, she took my order and got everything right. I ordered an Avocado Toast, 2 Blueberry Muffins, and for my drink, got an Ube Latte. Everything tasted above and beyond fresh and delicious. My Ube Latte was made to PERFECTION! Don't know much about their parking situation, but I found street parking right in the front. They also do delivery, and 3rd party orders. My first time, but definitely not the last. Was so pleased with their hospitality. If I didn't happen to be in the area, I probably would have missed this beautiful gem. Glad I saw it and walked in. Got the Chicken Pesto Panini ($18) and it was pretty good. It was slightly too oily but the ingredients tasted very fresh. The chicken was a little dry and would have been better if it was more moist but not a big deal. Really enjoyed how the panini was packed with flavor and tasted delicious! The Matcha Latte ($7) was so disappointing. I requested it with less ice and less sweet so I got it 80% full. It literally tasted like milk and I couldn't taste any matcha at all unfortunately. They used to use very high quality matcha but the matcha used now is completely different. I was really looking forward to enjoying the matcha latte because it used to be one of my favorites but this was most likely the worst matcha latte I've had. Overall, the panini was good but the matcha wasn't good at all so I will definitely not get the matcha again!

Sure, you'll find the usual espresso drinks, but you'll also spot a few matcha options, creative fizzes, and refreshing tonics. As for pastries? The selection is stunning and freshly made. Peek into the glass case and you'll have a hard time choosing. Pro tip: don't pass up the devil's food cake donut. It's soft, airy, rich with high-quality chocolate... seriously yum. The staff are super friendly and it was fun catching them singing along to the shop playlist while carefully crafting drinks for each customer. The shop is cozy, so expect a line out front. It does move quickly though and is absolutely worth the short wait. There's no seating inside, but a few tables are set up along the arcade walkway for enjoying your treats outside. Parking is pretty easy with a large shared lot behind the arcade (plus some street parking if you're lucky). On my visit, I kept it simple with a vanilla latte, which totally hit the spot. The cafe is located in a long indoor area and love the feel of the hallway. There was a line when I visited, which at first gives the impression that the place is extremely popular and in high demand. But I think the line is partly a result of the limited number of people who can be inside at one time, along with the amount of time it takes to prepare the drinks. The menu is also fairly limited, so there aren't a ton of options to choose from. That said, I really enjoyed the Yin-Yang Coffee + Tea. It's a unique combination and probably the drink that stood out the most to me. I also got a chai latte and a matcha donut. The barista doesn't seem like they enjoy being there...so meh on customer service, too.
