Pistachio Cold Brew Shaken Latte ($7.90)
Megan L.

Love that it's off the main road so quieter and loads of free street parking. Cute and small inside but there's also seats outside. So many drinks and seasonal lattes. + Regular pistachio cold brew latte ($7.90): super pricy, but I enjoyed the pistachio flavor, more nutty than syrupy! And bit more milky than other shaken espressos I've had but so yum (8/10)

This coffee spot has many unique and tasty coffee drinks. Some are a too sweet for my liking, but I enjoy that it's different from other coffee shops. The times I've visited the baristas have been able to answer my questions regarding dairy which I appreciate.

Super cute cafe, there is seating outside and inside. There are tea options along with coffee options. I got the Strawberry Jasmine 75% sweet, it is alright overall. Not the best tea I have had but not the worst. I think if you like things more sweet, definitely get it more sweet. They also have food options, I personally did not try them. As for parking there is street parking right in front but if not, there is a parking structure not too far that is 1.5 per 30 mins with a $12 max rate.

One of my favorite hole in the wall coffee and tea spots. Lots of different coffees, espresso based drinks plus a variety of hot and cold teas plus matcha! They have a peanut butter latte to die for! Super friendly service and chill atmosphere plus pastries and sandwiches. Indoor and outdoor seating free WiFi

(+) Matcha MT (+) Vanilla Toddy latte Home brewed bar is a tea/coffee shop that brews each drink carefully and super fresh. The shop is inviting and there are plenty of tables to sit down and enjoy a drink with good company. They do offer freshly baked pastries and other goodies, that I have yet to try. Drinks: I've been here a few times and enjoyed my visit each time. The drinks I have tried are the matcha latte and vanilla toddy latte. The matcha taste is bold and not too sweet. I would say it is one of my favorites, as their matcha is done well. The vanilla latte is basic, in a good way. I enjoyed each sip! The fresh coffee taste does the trick. They are known for their milk teas as well, which I will try next time. Service/Ambiance: The service is solid. My drinks were made in 5-10 minutes, which did not feel like a long time. The first time I went, it wasn't busy, but the second time I went, all of the indoor tables were occupied. This shop is great for catching up with friend(s) and very welcoming. Overall, with all the coffee shops in Pasadena, I would recommend Home Brew Bar for their variety on the menu and fresh tasting drinks. They do an excellent job and create drinks that will tickle your taste buds.

I used to go to their old location, and I was told that they have moved to this new place since 2 years ago. I could not thinking about the tasty drink I used to have, and decided to stop by. It is located on a small street that is pretty quiet. I was able to find street parking easily. Decorations were modern, warm, cozy, and welcoming. There was a line when I came in at 3pm on a weekday. Baristas were busy serving. The drink took a while to prepare as they were a bit busy. We ordered pistachio matcha latte and ube white chocolate. The pistachio matcha latte is on the lighter side, especially the flavor of pistachio. The white ube white chocolate was wonderful, but it is on the sweeter side. I like the ube while chocolate much better. Will come by again.

I was at Jackalope Fair and this was in the vicinity. I had no plans of coming here, but I was already there and it was a hot day. I had the matcha pistachio. The overall drink was okay. It was lacking pistachio flavor. I know it was there, but it was definitely on the light side. There is indoor and outdoor seating available, but can be busy.

This place is super cute. Hidden on Madison Ave. You can find a good amount of street parking. Came here on a Sunday with my dog, yes they're dog friendly! I've been wanting to finally try this place and finally this stamped off my Pasadena Coffee Passport. Ordered: - Iced Dirty Horchata - Jalapeño Cheese Croissant - Chocolate Chip Scone I really enjoyed the Horchata & the croissant, the scone was alright to be honest. The staff was very nice and the place itself was very cute & clean place to hangout at.

Pistachio matcha and Organic Peach Mango Tea (Iced)

A hidden little gem! I am so glad to have come across this adorable place! The inside of the shop is quite small with just a handful of tables, but there is more seating right outside. I ordered the Pistachio Matcha. The matcha was well mixed and frothy, the pistachio flavor wasn't very strong but that's probably because I got it with 50% less sweet. Next time, I am going to order it regular to compare, but I really enjoyed my drink! My friend got the peach mango tea and she said it was also a 10/10. Not overly sweet and really refreshing. Last thing I'll shout out is the service. The barista who helped me I could tell was putting so much genuine care into the drinks he was making. He checked in with all his customers to make sure we didn't want anything adjusted to our drinks. I will certainly be coming back!

Ube white chocolate ice blended

I was trying to find a coffee shop nearby before heading to work. This was easy to find and there was plenty of street parking. I ordered through the kiosk inside which almost look like a cozy indoor/outdoor backyard. It was a very relaxed vibe. The barista was super helpful and called out the drink by your name. The ube white chocolate ice blend was perfectly sweet. It was not too sweet and it was delicious on such a muggy day. I got the regular size which was great. I definitely want to come back and try more items on the menu.

Iced Matcha Banana
Elaine Y.

Searched up coffee near the hotel and Home Brewed Bar popped up within walking distance - perfect! A quick check on Yelp? Very photogenic drinks and pretty unique combinations - right up my alley! I tried the matcha banana as it's quickly rising in popularity as a flavor combination and it totally hit the spot! I liked the real banana flavor and also that it wasn't too overpowering against the matcha. The cafe is really cute too! There's a slight industrial feel to it, but it also had some really nice pops of color within!

Welcome to Home Brewed Bar. #pasadena #steetboard

Home Brewed Bar is a cute tiny coffee shop in Pasadena. They offer an array of drinks both hot and cold and even in-between. Similarly, it's a place where you can indulge in a traditional Filipino-inspired game (sungka) board in a cozy and inviting coffee house. Besides their traditional order counter, there are two kiosks for a quick order placement. Interior design was cutely curated, albeit very tight in space. If you're a bit claustrophobic you may want to seat outside. I came on a very warm afternoon as a first time visitor to grab a cold drink. Their menu items were compendious as well as their food and pastry. I end up with an Iced Lavender Latter x 50% sweetness would suffice. Drink was brilliant in flavorful and very refreshing enough for $7.65 usd. There goes the power of my mighty dolla! lol ;D Anyway, their male staff was competent and professional. Atmosphere was quite relaxing despite their tight space layout. Prices were shockingly expensive than most coffee bar-shop in the area. Service was okay-prompt enough. Finding free street parking can be a challenge given it's located in old town Pasadena. Collectively, this was a unique hobbit like cafe with an intimate setting mainly because you're only an elbow nudge away from the person seating next to you. Haha! Overall, I enjoyed their refreshing iced drink but not so much on the claustrophobic space. I still recommend this coffee shop.

Seasonal Filipino inspired drinks.

Stopped by our favorite Home Brewed Bar for some Taro Latte Taro Whipped Iced to go. As always, Taro Latte Taro Whipped never disappoints. You can taste the espresso along with the taro. It's not too sweet. Whenever we are on this side of town we make sure to stop by and pick up some of our favorite specialty latte drinks. Home Brewed Bar is also consistent with providing excellent customer service. Thank you to my brother and SIL for our favorites drinks.

I believe the house milk is a non-dairy creamer with brown sugar, which is perfect since I'm lactose-intolerant.

I threw a hail mary and booked without having tried the food myself before and prayed that the experience would be wonderful. To say i was satisfied with them would be an understatement. Though i booked them last minute (literally 2 days before the event), Brooke was more than accommodating and helped decrease the stress! Communication was clear via phone and email and in the course of a couple of hours, she had given me customized menu options within my budget as well as vegan restrictions -- all while i multitasked at work! On the day of the event, her staff arrived promptly at the discussed time and had the food prepared and set up nicely. Everything was beyond expectations and i was complimented all night at how good the food was. Bonus: they are a zero waste company and also used biodegradable eco-friendly utensils! a company after my own heart. I will definitely book them for future events and recommend them to anyone looking for amazing food and great service with a sustainable mindset!

A criteria we had when searching for a caterer was having a family style option so that our guests had a chance to eat multiple items/dishes. We knew we didn't want each person to just get one plate of food with a single protein choice; we wanted a feast! After finding Taste of Pace through some online research, we scheduled a tasting, which completely blew us away! Pace had us come to a loft where she cooked all of the dishes as we sat, ate, drank, listened to lovely Italian dinner music, and chatted with Brooke to go over the menu options. We instantly booked with them after. They also helped with the open bars we had at the wedding, so the food, the alcohol, the staff were seamless and amazing. We keep getting comments on how delicious the cocktail hour appetizers and dinner platters were. For cocktail hour, we had a charcuterie station, hamachi crudo, risotto cakes, and hangar steak. For dinner, we had an heirloom lettuce salad, braised short ribs, salmon, fingerling potatoes, and seasonal veggies w/ burrata. I was definitely not one of those brides that don't get to eat a bite of their food at their wedding. Oh, I sat and ate my ENTIRE plate of food! My favorite thing about Taste of Pace is that they are a zero waste catering company and they use every part of their ingredients. It's so amazing!

We had a premiere party at Castle Green in December where your only choice for catering by contract with the building is Little Lily's Kitchen. Kari and Booke were very nice, but their prices were insane for what we needed. In any case, we moved forward with an 8K invoice for a "finger-food" order for 250. When we found only 70 had RSVPd, we obviously had to honor our non-refundable contract for the 8K, which we did in good faith and ahead of schedule. But since we were at 1/3 capacity, I asked for an additional choice of finger food, which they did. The problem came in the fact that we paid for 6 servers and received 3. The food didn't begin circulating (by a very sweet wait staff) until 45 minutes after guests arrived and then it was very intermittent with many never receiving food. For 8K I expected non-stop food for our 70 guests, instead what I got (and didn't find out till later) was a lot of hungry people. On top of that, we had 16 guests report stomach issues the next morning - the commonality being goat cheese. When I addressed this to Brooke and Kari, I was not looking for a refund - after all, maybe it was a stomach virus that circulated within 24 hours, but I was dismayed by the fact that they didn't respond at all- zero, zip, nothing, not even a thank you for our business. It was the BIGGEST ripoff I've ever experienced with a caterer. For anyone having an event at Castle Green that doesn't involve a very large payout for the owners, buyer beware.
