It wasn't overly busy, so I found a table right away and had a chance to relax for a bit. I ordered an oat milk latte and an avocado toast. The latte was smooth without tasting burnt, and the toast was fresh with a good amount of seasoning. Nothing over-the-top, just really solid food and coffee. The staff checked in a couple of times to make sure everything was good, and everyone seemed genuinely friendly. I also liked that people were doing a mix of things--some were meeting friends, others were working on laptops--which made the place feel comfortable and lived in. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm in the area. Nice atmosphere, good coffee, and a relaxing way to start the morning.

Unfortunately, the food and drinks just didn't do it for me this time. I ordered the $9 sub, which was premade and had that unmistakable straight-from-the-fridge hard bread situation. Plus, it could use some mayo, or at least some kind of sauce. For $9, I expected better and definitely wouldn't spend the money on it again. The hojicha latte was another miss. I've had hojicha plenty of times and usually love its smooth, roasty flavor, but this one wasn't sweet or creamy enough for my taste and came across a little too straight-up. The raspberry cream on top didn't add much flavor either. I also grabbed a day-old pastry. It was pretty hard and had a slightly stale crème-brûlée-like top, although I'll give it credit -- once warmed up, it was actually pretty delicious. Overall, 3 stars. I like the concept and the convenience, but unfortunately nothing I had was quite good enough to make me want to come back anytime soon.

While they were making my latte, I settled into a comfortable half booth seat that conveniently had outlets underneath. My drink was prepared quickly and wowwwwww. It had the perfect balance of coffee and creaminess. All the things I like in a latte and in a horchata in one cup. Based on the way they're set up, it seems like the folks who are socializing like to sit outside, and the folks inside securing outlets are studying or working. It's a good workspace alternative.
