Owner was extremely rude. We had a group of 6 and asked to be seated outside. The owner insisted he set up a table and we said that wasn't necessary. Once done he got very upset we joined just for coffee and not food. At that point he started making snide comments and actively making us feel unwelcome. Never going back. read more

I've been eating here for years. A literal "Ma & Pa" family-run restaurant. I go twice a week, and sometimes stop just to pick up an excellent coffee/espresso drink. The BEST burgers, fries, breakfasts, quiche, soups and salads. Generous portions for reasonable prices. It's small, so you may have to wait for a table--but the counter is convenient. DA BREAKFAST I walked into this diner half asleep because my hotel had no breakfast or coffee. I placed my order, sipped my coffee and saw "Mike Ditka"! What? I'm in a Chicago diner in Arizona! Yes! I asked my waitress and she said the owners are originally from Chicago. I totally picked the right place to eat at. I'm a Benny Snob and I love old school eggs Benedict. I don't need pulled pork, crab cake or tofu. Just give me my Canadian bacon. I ordered the Eggs Benedict here with crispy hash browns. I will admit it was ham. I wish it was Canadian bacon which is just really fancy ham. The chef cooked a perfect runny yolk. It's been a while since I've had an egg cooked this perfect. Thanks chef. I also got my hash browns crispy and the chef made them perfectly. Wow! I'm so happy. As I was sitting there I realized everyone dining here had been here before. I was the only new guy. The waitress would ask people walking in, "The usual!" That's awesome customer service plus to remember what everyone orders. That's a gift. I can't wait to come back....okay I'm foreshadowing right to my second review. DA BREAKFAST TWO Yes it's Day 2 and I'm back again. I really wanted the Eggs Benedict but also wanted to try something new. I made a custom Omelette with ham, spinach, Swiss cheese and pico de gallo along with crispy hash browns and sour dough toast. I was really happy. The man who was sitting at the counter even said hello to me when I walked in. I think he recognized me from day 1. I might be a regular now. Ha. This place is a great breakfast. There's no fancy brunch items here and I'm very happy about that. This place keeps breakfast as breakfast...it should be simple. Breakfast doesn't need to be recreated. It's all about eggs, coffee, meat, pancakes, potatoes and bread. That's all you need to start your day. One of the owners waited on me today. She told me her husband was from Chicago. She was super nice and I told her how much I loved her diner. When I was leaving she said, "See you tomorrow!" I looked bad with a sad face and told her I'd be back in Chicago. Pancakes were not good. Food was okay at best. Asked for an Arnold Palmer- given a can of lemonade and a splash of iced tea. Charged for both but no one came back to give me a glass of iced tea. Benedict was supposed to have corned beef, there was a couple tiny shreds. There are many delicious breakfast/brunch places. This just doesn't happen to be one of them. read more

Been coming to this location probably 5+ times over the last 2 months since moving to this area. The location is great for me and my friends or family that I continue to have join me. Customer service is top notch, my first time in I felt so comfortable with the staff and they were so friendly to my family. I knew it would be a great place to come back and they would recognize you. The food is awesome and fairly precise. Coffee is fantastic and unlimited refills and even a take out cup if you want it! Very friendly and attentive. She was on top of it! She suggested the Country Fried Steak and it was amazing. I have tried many of that in different places and this one is in my top three now. A small cafe with great service and delicious food. Came from California to visit the grandkids. Decided to try this place and it didn't disappoint. The grandkids had chocolate chip pancakes and eggs. I had a meat lovers omelette and no lie that omelette melted in my mouth. My husband and son had the eggs Benedict and they loved it also. I adored but despise this place now. 1. My food didn't arrive for 30 minutes. 2. The food was so cold (why do I have to wait for my food to be cold?) 3. The server paid no attention to us. I even raised my hand to attract her attention. 4. Coffee was not even refilled once. 5. We had to wait another 30 minutes to check, but the server ignored, so I had to go to the counter to check myself. It's ridiculous that I had to pay a tip for them. Been going to temptations Cafe for years. Now they have a new ownership and I'm not particularly liking what they cook with their hash browns and eggs. It feels like I'm eating strictly oil. They used to taste buttery not oily. Otherwise they have great customer service but you need to change what you're cooking your food in. I ordered crispy bacon, all I got was bacon fat hardly even cooked. I was very disappointed this time around, hopefully they'll change a few things. read more

Average cafe fare. With few reviews and not enough detail, there was not much to go on for making our food choices. The reuben was ok. Not great. The breakfast burrito the same. Nothing wrong but nothing that I will remember tomorrow either. If I wasn't in Phoenix Scottsdale area but rather a small town, I would be thankful. It felt small town good. My husband and I tried this cafe this morning since it's right by our house, it has a very homey feel and was really great. It's a small location, but they accommodate by making sure if there's no room at the moment, the second something opens up whoever was first gets it. We walked in and it was crowded, which tells you this is this place to go! A lot of regulars which it great to see, I've read someone's review that said the decorations where a little all over and I disagree. It feels like grandma's!! Yes theres a little bit of everything but it's fun to look at and see where this family has been. The prices are reasonable and you get a ton of food, they have multiple options for sides and add on's, my husband tried their southwest scramble which was amazing, and I had their eggs benedict (which comes with paprika on top - I didn't know, wish I did so I could've asked for it without but still delicious). Would recommend for a breakfast date, especially if you're on a budget. On the super plus side, the restaurant is SUPER clean and got an "A" rating from the health inspector! read more

He told us we needed to leave if it got busy, even though we were only sitting there for about 10 minutes. He had a lot of animosity and anger and even raised his voice to our group. Served with country potatoes and Choice of Toast ~ Custom Omelette $9.25 Hash Brown, Choice of Toast, three eggs with onions, peppers, and mushrooms Both omelettes were delicious as were the country potatoes and hash browns. This was a great hole in the wall diner find! We originally chose this place because it was close to where we were staying. However, it exceeded our expectations. Our server was delightful. She clearly enjoys her job, which makes the whole experience better! The menu was perfect for what we were looking for - classic, simple breakfast! I thoroughly enjoyed a scramble with sourdough bread. We spent most of our time in Old Town in Scottsdale, so it was nice to get out of that craziness for a meal. This place is under new management and we met the new owner before the holidays when in for breakfast. He mentioned he was revamping some of the menu and making soups from scratch and getting his meat from a local butcher. We normally go for breakfast or salads on the patio but were out later than usual and my husband was wanting a sandwich. We thought we'd give it a shot. I ordered a delicious scramble which had large portions and was tasty, but pretty traditional. At first my husband ordered a Philly Cheesesteak but they were out (not surprising because they were near closing). He remember the owner's discussion about the burger and decided to go there. He is a huge burger lover and his favorites are normally STK or AZ88. He wasn't expecting this to hit that mark. As he pushed his plate away with almost the entire burger gone, he said he was so stuffed (the sandwich is huge) but he also was so pleasantly surprised at the quality. It easily lives up to his favorites! Well cooked, high-quality ingredients and a huge portion. He said the fries were also good but he hardly ate any because he didn't want to waste the burger. The wife came out to check on us and brought our check. She and our server were very friendly and accommodating considering we chose to be the only people on the patio on this chilly day just before closing. read more
