Love anything truffle so when we found this place had to check it out. We started with veggies and buffalo mozzarella and tomato, both were fresh and delicious. We ordered the filet mignon with truffle and potatoes and greens. The filet was the best I have had, so tender and flavorful. Excellent dinner, great service and reasonably priced for everything we ordered. Definitely a must try when in the area.

I highly recommend this place 1000%. My cousin and I got the barata app, truffle pasta, and a yummy desert that I can't think of of. The restaurant provides complimentary biscotti and moscato that was also delicious. Service was amazing.

If you are ever in Rome you have to eat at this restaurant. We only had three nights in Rome and we ate two of the nights at Taverna Lucifero. We met a cute couple from Melbourne last night that sat next to us who also enjoyed the Black Truffle and could not believe how well executed every dish was. The place was filled with locals and tourists alike, and I kept overhearing how everyone was amazed by the food. This is a must when in Rome!!

It's November and white truffles season. When in Rome..... Can say enough good things about this place. Francesco took great care of us. It's a small restaurant and has a real family vibe. No wine list so you go to this wall with bottles of wine and pick one. The Sangiovese Francesco recommended was perfect for our meal. As you can see from the pictures this is the place to be if you are craving truffles like I was. Finished the meal with one of the best Panna cotta I've ever had (with truffles!) and a limoncello. My dinner partner had a white port instead of limoncello and said even better (as he's not a fan of limoncello) So many things to try in Rome so might run out of meals before I come back. I would if I could!!!!

Locals' restaurant in the heart of the old city. Excellent food and super attentive service. Truffles served on almost every dish.

One word. TRUFFLE. If you're a truffle lover like myself you'll adore this restaurant. Taverna Lucifero specializes in Italian cuisine with an delightful emphasis on truffles. Hidden on an obscure cobblestone side street, the restaurant offers a quiet, understated ambiance. I visited during the summer, when the lively outdoor seating spilled out onto the narrow yet picturesque street. The vintage atmosphere lends a nostalgic charm to the experience. Dining here features a variety of dishes adorned with the freshest truffles, shaved tableside (ours by a singing attendant!) I indulged in smoked duck carpaccio, roasted potatoes, tender beef filet and truffle pasta. When in Rome, this cozy spot offers good service, great wine, excellent food, and the freshest truffles, all at an affordable price. At the end of our meal, we were treated to dessert wine and a sweet Italian biscotti, a delightful conclusion to a wonderful evening.

This place stands out as sooo delicious, and there's a LOT of deliciousness in Italy! Tourist-friendly without feeling tourist-y, priced amazingly reasonable for truffles, which seem to be their speciality, and the dark chocolate fondue for dessert shouldn't be skipped!

Cute place. Staff was attentive and friendly. Really made us feel welcomed. Loved the food. The truffle pasta is amazing. Also tried the ravioli and it was on point. Would def come back.

BEST MEAL WE ATE IN ROME! It was our last night night and so, of course, I turned to yelp to help us find the perfect dining experience. Every bite at Taverna Lucífero was amazing: from the appetizers (mixed vegetables and a cheese plate) to the entree (we split a fillet with porcini mushrooms and spinach ravioli) to the chocolate fondue with berries for dessert. Great wine selections too! If you just let Francesco take care of everything, you won't be disappointed. This is truly a hidden gem.

We tried walking in first, but they were closing after lunch and shut down between lunch and dinner, so we booked a reservation for a couple days later. We visited in late February, and it felt a little less busy than usual, according to our waiter. We're from Los Angeles, and honestly, this ended up being one of our favorite meals in Rome. Everything we ate was delicious. We ordered the gnocchi with pork belly (the gnocchi was amazing). The pork belly was a bit too fatty for my personal taste, but my fiancé loved it. We also had a vegetable plate with a balsamic infusion that was so flavorful and beautifully done -- tomatoes, peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, eggplant, onions -- everything tasted fresh and intentional. And the bread was excellent too. Ambiance is super cute and cozy! Overall, the food, quality, and experience totally lived up to the hype. I would absolutely recommend Roscioli and would 100% come back.

Kept seeing this restaurant pop up with local Italian chefs' recommendations. Feeling a bit tourist trappy but their food was oh-so-delightful. We started with the bread basket and a bottle of Chianti. Appetizers - Maialino del Chianti - slow cooked pulled pork with olives and pickled vegetables. It's a cold dish but the meat was tender and flavorful. Trippa della Tradizione Romana - Roman tripe stew. This was so tender and succulent, definitely a little tripe scenty for those who don't eat innards. Pastas - Tagliatella - tagliatelle tossed with hare ragu, dried porcini mushrooms and saffron. My first bunny dish ever. Amatriciana - traditional Roman dish but with gnocchi. We booked dining in the basement which worked out as the restroom was also in the basement/wine cellar. Highly recommend to give them a try. Great service as well!

We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.
