Next level juicy
Heather L.

Next level juicy & the fries were to die for - perfectly crispy. The buttered bun set this hamburger apart & when sliced in half, you could immediately tell, this would be one of the best burgers in recent experience. It's a YES! From me.

Sometimes you don't need a full meal, you just need dessert, and Taverna delivered. We stopped in downtown to satisfy a sweet tooth moment and ended up ordering three desserts to share, which felt very on brand for us. Everything came out looking so cute and intentional, which already set the tone. The key lime cheesecake was the clear winner. Perfect balance of tart and sweet, and honestly the one I kept going back to. We also tried the tiramisu, which was classic and well done, and a butter cake with cherry and orange zest that was surprisingly such a good combination. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, split a few things, and just enjoy the moment. Definitely a solid stop if you're downtown and craving something sweet.

Had a great brunch here after my friend ran the half marathon! She made the reservation for us and we arrived right at 10:30 am after she finished. We were seated on the patio which was perfect for people watching. Our server was great. We wanted to order mimosas and he informed us of their 50% off bottles of bubbles, so we did that instead. We had 2 bottles of prosecco and it was a great deal. We also ordered a small glass of orange juice that we shared to splash in our bubbles. I had a veggie omelette and it was huge! It came with potatoes and was super filling. The mushrooms were especially yummy. My friend got a burger with fries, and the portion was also impressive. I went inside to use the restroom and noticed how beautiful the dining room is. Can't wait to go back for dinner. I thought the brunch prices were super reasonable!

4.5 Stars I'm not so sure why the ratings are so low. The Happy hour has $6 glasses of wine and is from 4-6. The interior looks so classy (date night worthy) and the outside patio is casual. I had a few bites of the shrimp scampi ($28) and it was amazing - omg, that sauce was so buttery and flavorful, and the fresh pasta had a wonderful soft chew. The Mussels Fra Diavolo ($18) were delicious - the mussels could have been fresher (a few were rancid tasting) but other than that they were fine. There was this burrata pizza someone next to us was eating - DEFINITELY getting that next time. AJ was very polite and pleasant.

We started with cocktails. L had a Whiskey Sour, R had a Martini and Regina and I had Margaritas. All very good. L and I ordered Caesar salads that were fresh and well prepared. For entrees, R had Pescatora, L had Lasagna, Regina had Branzino Al Formosa and I had Ravioli Carbonara. Each dish was excellent in terms of presentation, flavors and amounts. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. The kitchen had a glitch with a piece of equipment (the dishwasher) that paused service for awhile. Enjoyable environment.

Truffles fries

I took my order to go and really enjoyed the quantity AND quality. Truffles fries were still crisp and branzino just fell off the fish. The host was also incredibly kind when I picked up and asked if I needed any additional house sauces or utensils. Def recommend if in the area.

Love this spot! As a local, I bring all my visitors here. Great food, great service, and beautiful views!

Great restaurants to grab some drinks and food at while downtown ATX. Their espresso martinis are great and the service is even better.

Every time I go to Austin. I walk around the lake, look at happy couples, get sad, realize I'm a chud, then start my walk over to to Taverna. Because this is the only food that makes me feel something. When you have an Italian waiter serenading you with pizza names that you can't pronounce, it makes me the Italian taste so much better. Only thing I would change is that the chairs are slippery and the music is not Italian opera. Other than that, Taverna, I WILL be coming back.

Went to Taverna for brunch with the girls and had such a good time! They had $3 mimosas which were amazing, and the fries were honestly some of the best I've had. I ordered pasta along with the focaccia bread topped with prosciutto--the bread was a little hard, but still good overall. The service was excellent, our waiter was super attentive and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a fun brunch spot I'd come back to!

Very solid Italian. My favorites are the wild mushroom risotto and they have an incredible Capresse Salad. Very high quality ingredients.

This place is a vibe on a Saturday! Inside is like a party with a DJ, and outside it more chill. I had a wagyu burger and it was delicious!

I had made a reservation a few weeks prior for our anniversary month. When we sat at our table they had a cute little greeting card from the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. Pro Tip: Just make a reservation way in advance and if you make it you make it. Even if you don't think you will be able to make it. If you can't go just cancel with enough advance. We started with the Meatballs that pair wonderfully with their Italian Bread. Flavorful and plentiful dish and def get the bread! Next came the Bone Marrow & Tuna Crudo. I will say though for some reason after we finished our Meatballs it took them quite a while to bring our dishes after that. Bone Marrow was divine and also paired well with the Italian Bread. Tuna Crudo was not what I expected because it was warm and I was expecting it to be cold. But it was good and I love eggplant. Our main dish was the Agnolotti Alla Piemontese. From the description it seemed to hit all the boxes since we are meat lovers (contains braised beef & pork shoulder) and truffle. I love me some truffle. When we ordered the Agnolotti Alla Piemontese I asked him does it have a lot of truffle flavor because I love truffle. He said oh we can definitely add more truffle if you would like when the dish comes out. When the dish came they had the chef come shave an extra truffle on the dish. I honestly could not taste the difference. Was not enough truffle flavor for me. Note the extra truffle is an added charge. Overall lovely experience. If we return we will need to try some different dishes to give it another try.

Back in the Dec. we did a guys trip to Austin and the culinary highlight of the weekend was Sammie's. Stepping through the doors felt like stepping into elegance and onto the set of Goodfellas. I have never been a fan of Negronis but the one at Sammie's changed my life! I order them everywhere I go now searching for that Sammie's Negroni high but nothing comes close to it. My fiancé and I had an amazing time, and the food and service were great again. Our waitress went out of her way to make recommendations, make our night so special, and ensure our drinks were never empty. We got the mozzarella sticks (with an incredible cheese pull), the Caesar, and I had the Cacio e Pepe. I don't remember what he got, but the dessert was spectacular - Millefoglie al Cioccolato. Everything was delicious, but we were just a little shocked when we got the bill. (It was much more than what we expected) I would love to go back to lunch and do their jazz and lunch event.

Never heard of this place but got a coupon in the mail for a buy one lunch, get a free lunch…read more Decided to try it as I'm always looking for decent Italian food. As it turns out the coupon was only good during the week and it was Saturday. No big deal. I ordered a Meatball Sandwich, my friend an Italian Sandwich (after asking our excellent young waitress about it). She brought out two very tasty types of bread with olive oil for dipping. The sandwiches came with Garlic Fries. The Fries were delicious but unfortunately mine were lukewarm. I certainly could have asked for a fresh portion, but was hungry enough not to bother. That's the reason my rating wasn't 5 Star. Because the restaurant was pretty empty on this Saturday afternoon, I feel the Chef shouldn't have sent out fries that weren't piping hot. The Meatball Sandwich however was marvelous. Freshly made, tasty meatballs with sauce and cheese on their focaccia bread was a real treat. I took half home and ate the rest for dinner. All in all, I'd come back here again as the food was excellent as well as the service.

Must serve tons of spaghetti and meat sauce for the kids. But we're not here for the early bird family special. This is big time birthday celebration for the patriarch of this gang of Bostonians out for some wicked Italian food. We started with the beautiful bread basket nice fresh slices with some soft focaccia. The Calamari was standard some crispy tentacles with tough chewy meat. Meatball appetizers were big and beautifully blended globs of ground beef and sausage served with sauce. Now the it's Primo time. The Molto Grande Patti. Pork Chops with Giardiniera . Somebody forgot to make golden brown cutlets so they served an overcooked slab of pork chop underneath an assortment of pickled vegetables over a bed of pasta in red sauce. The only taste was pickled everything. Back to the kitchen and off the table. Veal Piccata consisted of two slices of meat, non tenderized, non dredged in flour and non pan seared. Served atop linguini swimming in a sea of lemon sauce and capers. What a wonderful disaster this was. Then the Lasagna served in casserole. If the traditional Lasagna is too time consuming to make then don't fake it with a casserole that the old Irish Lady makes. Good lasagna is made with layers of pasta, rich sauce, gooey cheese made with ricotta, mozzarella and parmigiano cheeses and loads of ground beef and sausage. Come on that's too easy to mess up with this awful thing you put in front of me. Ok the Penne was cooked to perfection. The sauce with green floating in it tasted good once I got past the floating algae. Sorry Folks but Cousin Louie's is best left for the kids spaghetti feast. No place for grown ups to dine.
