Not one of the cheaper milk tea places (especially since I ordered without boba/any other add ons), but they definitely delivered with the flavor! I've tried the winter melon and coconut flavors and ordered both drinks with less sugar, but they were still plenty sweet. I can't for the life of me describe what winter melon tastes like but both that and the coconut flavor were great. I feel like I'm always doomed to have less amount in my drink whenever I order a beverage with less ice and I don't understand why that's okay. I came here on a rainy day and ordered the 32 oz all nighter cold brew. I wanted less ice since it was already freezing cold outside. The result is about 2-3 ounces less of my drink with almost next to no salted cream on top. Sad to say that I was very disappointed with my drink because I could have gone to Sharetea or Din Tai Fung and gotten significantly more salted cream for a cheaper price. The cold brew itself was good... Not sure if I'll be coming back here since the drink was $6 and it was a rushed product. I feel that if it's a slow day you would want to take the time to perfect your drink but this was not the case. The shrimp is perfectly cooked with a great crunch to it. The sauce used on the shrimp is spicy even though I got medium but it has a really great kick to it. I base all of my tea reivews on a jasmine green milk tea and this place did not pass. Tea flavor was weak, the milk to tea ratio was too low making the drink seem watery and lacking cream. The size was the one thing that they have going for them, a large was in like a 32oz cup. If you are a more sophisticated milk tea/boba drinker I would pass. read more

Oh my gosh, why does this staff look like they hate their jobs?! I came in tonight (08/20) and as soon as I walked in, there was a male worker walking towards the trash can (to assumably take it out) but he gave me such a dirty and mean glare as he was walking. Even more, none of the staff greeted/welcomed me in which staff at other Tastea locations usually do with genuinely happy attitudes. I mean I'm sorry for coming in at 10:30pm when you guys close at 11pm but this FOH staff tonight had such an unwelcoming and unfriendly vibe that made me want to walk out right away if I hadn't drove so far. I'd understand if they were tired due to backed up orders but I was the only one inside ordering... Very disappointed with the customer service here. Ordered the lychee peachee because I love lychee and was wanting something fruity, and it's listed as #3 on their most popular drinks list. I asked for 50% ice and 25% sweetness, and added lychee jelly for an additional $0.85. Even at 25% sweetness, this drink was wayyyy too sweet. It tasted more like it was at a 100% sweetness level. Perhaps the addition of the lychee jelly took it over the top? But even at other places, it doesn't come out as sweet as it did here. Lots of boba shops all over Irvine, so this probably wouldn't be my first choice, but I'll have to come and try some of the other things on their menu. read more

My friends all rave about Tastea back in the SGV and since I was around the area, I thought I would head to this location. I came in with a friend and we ordered a Karate Chicken, Jasmine Iced Tea (20oz), and Golden Milk Tea (20oz). My friend enjoyed her Golden Milk tea and as for me, the Jasmine was very fragrant and went perfectly with the chicken. Just have to add that the drink was just too ice heavy for me. The total came out to be a bit more than $19. I thought it was odd but I just gave the cashier my credit card and didn't think much of it. Turns out the cashier put in fries along with our order of Karate Chicken, Jasmine Ice Tea, and Golden Milk Tea. It ended up being ok since we took the rest home but like WHAT? We didn't order fries but still ended up paying for it and cashier couldn't do much about it. With that said Karate Chicken and the fries were actually delicious. There was lots of flavor and we got the weak sauce which was basically a sweet and sour chili. The box it came with is enough to share with two people and it goes with the various teas they have! On to the service, the service here isn't amazing. It's actually mediocre because the cashier was not very friendly and she got our order wrong. Love going here! Fun drink names like Bootea Shaker--LOL! Boba is soft and has a great chew. Love that you can adjust the sweetness of your drinks, which is great if you're looking to cut down on sugar intake for health or other reasons. The Karate chicken has a great flavor too. Tastea has been on my list of California boba shops for a while now. When I finally got the chance to visit and tried them out, I was unexpectedly disappointed. I was picking up some drinks for some friends as well and they all got a fruity drink so it seemed as though that's what they were known for, however, I was in the mood for the classic milk tea (which was #3 on their top 10 drink list) with their new coffee jelly. Something just seemed off about the drink. It did not measure up to the other classic milk teas from rival boba shops. So glad this place opened by one of my work locations. When I have meetings in this plaza, I can't help to visit this establishment for a good snack ranging from popcorn chicken to fried shrimps. Of course they are known for their milk tea drinks. Like most common boba shops, they provide similar options in terms of tea flavors and extra toppings for an additional cost. What I like about them over most places is that it doesn't have the powdery after taste like most places do. While I haven't tried all their flavors, and I don't plan to since I'm specific on what I drink, their almond milk tea and other non-milk teas are quite good. Just remember that you can request to have half sugar so that your not drinking a mouth full of sweets or process sugar. It's a different option from your everyday consumption of water. There's life, and there's living life. Get some flavor in you! In moderation of course. Too much means more than your annual dose of 365 sit-ups (one per day). read more

I love tastea. I normally get the same drink all the time but I have ventured out and tried their house coffee - I liked the hint of hazelnut, but for the price it was just ok. Nothing beats 7leaves' house coffee imo. My go to drink is the passion attraction, med sweetness, add regular boba. Their boba is so nice and chewy, I love it! (Similar to ding tea's golden boba, for reference). My only gripe with this location is that they never give enough of it! I even write in the notes section of my to-go order: "ample boba please." If I'm paying to add boba, I think they should add a good amount, given how inexpensive it is to make it lols. It's super convenient to order online so I'd recommend that since this location does tend to be busier during certain times. read more

I love their chicken and fries - they're so flavorful and fried nicely. Boba is average-good, but that's not to say that it doesn't still satisfy my cravings. As an avid milk tea drinker, I tend to stick with fruit teas here and normally substitute mine with green tea. Tastea uses an app now, which makes it so convenient as well. The reason I continue to come back is because of their All Nighter coffee. I would compare it to a Vietnamese type coffee with salted sweet cream. It's omg heaven!!! The service is always quick and the baristas are friendly. They have cute, social media worthy decor so I love snapping/instagramming when I'm in there. The only thing I'd wish for is a drive thru but I've never had to wait long, even when they have a line to the door. I probably went here the most during college, so I'm glad they opened up this location that's a bit closer to me. I mainly order their fruit drinks as opposed to their milk teas just because I think their fruit drinks taste better. My favorite drinks from here are: 1. Watermelon Heaven: deliciously blended slush of fresh watermelon that is the ideal summer drink. So refreshing on a warm day! Limited time during summer. 2. The Great White: tasty peach tea drink that has the perfect balance of fruity with the strong flavor of tea. I drank this at 9-10pm and couldn't sleep until like 2am haha. So good though! 3. Krypteanite: creamy matcha smoothie that is my go-to when I have a matcha craving. It's pretty heavy though compared to the previously mentioned drinks. Aside from these drinks, I always order buttloada fries. These fries are so crispy and tasty when they're fresh! Must get these if you have never had them!! We got the Peach Me Sweetea and the Bootea Shaker (with Stevia). We ordered both drinks with no ice since we weren't going to drink them immediately, and were happy to see that the drinks were still cold. We also liked that they had a screen to show your name when your order is ready so you can wait outside. The Peach Me has a good balance of peach and strawberry flavors with the black tea and a good amount of fruit bits (mostly strawberry). The Bootea mostly tastes of mango and peach to me, and the black jelly is a typical amount but is also cut up into small pieces rather than the larger pieces I typically see. If we come back in the future I would ask for a lower sweetness level for both drinks, especially since the Stevia has a noticeable taste that isn't bad but does compete with the fresh fruit juices. read more

I was stoked when I heard Tastea was coming to my area. No more having to drive to Costa Mesa or Garden Grove. *Parking: it's in the busy plaza where Target is next to other food options. Parking right out front can be a pain since there's only one road worth of parking adjacent to Tastea. If you don't mind walking more than 100 yards then you'll be fine. *Ambience: the inside looks like a clone of the Costa Mesa location. The bright colors make the place look fun and inviting. The counter is on one side and there are a few seats with tables on the other. *Service: haven't had a bad experience here yet. You don't really have much interaction with the staff other than ordering and picking up your order. If you ask for less ice, they top off your drink free of charge. They also don't charge for extra sauce for your snacks. *Drinks: So far I feel like their drinks are a little off compared to other locations. It's not bad, but not exactly the same. Golden Milk Tea - tastes off from the other local locations. It tastes a little more bitter. Almond Milk Tea - it's on the sweet side, but if you like your AMT this is so good! It has a rich almond flavor, exactly as you would expect it to. Matcha Milk Tea - it seriously tastes like liquid green tea Kit Kat. Very sweet Taro Milk Tea - has real bits of taro in it! *Honey boba vs regular boba - definitely go for the honey boba! It's much sweeter, softer, and chewier. One time I came close to closing time and they only had regular boba left. It just left me yearning for honey boba. I can't wait to see how this place improves over time! Website only allows full sweetness on summer option. I ordered peach tea half sweet, added 500ml of green tea and still found it to be sweet. No wonder everyone has metabolic syndrome and diabetes. Wish Tastea would consider healthy option that some customers are heath conscious and will not want added sugar or ice. Ice can give some people cramps. Also ordered a pastry at another location.
