If you're craving Peking duck, Taste Good Beijing is the spot! The duck was amazing crispy skin, juicy meat, and all the fixings like pancakes and hoisin sauce. So good! I also tried the duck fried rice, which was super tasty and had lots of flavor, and the intestine in a hot clay pot. That one's for adventurous eaters, but it was spicy and really good. To drink, I had an orange soda that was sweet and refreshing--it went great with the meal. The service was friendly, and the place felt cozy. I'll definitely come back to try more dishes.

    SO MUCH FAT! Disgusting!

The sweet and sour pork used to be good, but the last order was very disappointing. The meat was supposed to be lean but half was fatty. In addition, it was overly greasy, and the sweet and sour taste was off too. Will no longer recommend this place.

Family wanted Beijing duck, so we came for Beijing duck. As with any places that serve Beijing ducks, we have to order the duck at least 2 hours ahead of time. And when we arrived on time for our reservation, the duck was ready for us. The roasted duck was good and met our expectation. The chef carved the duck in front of us. 2 plates of meats, each piece with skin and meat balanced. (vs some HongKong style Beijing ducks are more skin than meat). An extra set of duck wrap, sauce, leek and cucumber is a must. However, the salt and pepper duck body (an add-on dish) was quite tough to eat, (we could have skipped this) so we ended up packing it to go, and made a soup with cabbage at home. The spicy green bean dish flavorful, my favorite too, and we all enjoyed. We did not like the sesame pastry though. as it was dry and tough. The red sugar rice-cake was a good dessert for the end of the meal. Overall, Beijing roasted duck is to the standard, and service is also reasonably good.

I went to Sunday lunch with family for a get together. It's good to see everyone enjoying themselves especially my mom. We're here to try out their Peking duck from Beijing that are served as a 2 way meal, if you reserve yours for 2 hours ahead of time. Call them ahead of time to reserve seats, and my brother called them. They told us that the Peking duck will be ready by 11:45am. They reserved us a private room, so we can enjoy ourselves. They are located at the Abel plaza. Ambiance is clean, organized. Staff are all courteous, polite, nice. They are more reserved too. Scan the qr code to order your food. We ordered: Peking duck with freshly made thin wheat pancakes, real Chinese Hoisin sauce, little sugar, julienned cucumbers, celery and green onions. -6/5. Excellent and so worth it! Crispy skin and meat is very clean, lean tasting and little oil from the duck. Soup served with duck broth, jujube, goji berries and some napa cabbage which balances the whole meal. Broth is light, clean tasting and removes the grease and gaminess of the duck. 4/5. Steamed rice Shredded pork with wood ear mushrooms, garlic sauce and a hint of black vinegar. Excellent, tangy, salt, umami and can taste the wok hei flavor and aroma. We loved this dish - 5/5. Stir fried green beans, pea shoots and eggplant with black bean sauce. Yummy and with 2 different textures. So good! 5/5. The food was excellent, and the star of the show was the Peking Duck. We would be coming back for special occasions. Just an awesome place!

Half of the Duck. You can two plate of this if you order one duck.

We come here for mother's day as she been craving Peking Duck. I call ahead to make reservation and also pre order the duck. My mom was expecting them to carve the duck by table side, but they did it inside the kitchen and take out the duck plate. Not sure is it a policy change since covid. We order the tofu duck soup as an add on, but that soup did not taste like duck soup at all, we did ask the lady can we still take the post carved duck remains home, and she gave us two! The duck itself is quite good, there might be a bit more fat left on the skin then a top notch Peking Duck place, but is not bad consider the price and location. We also order the sweet and sour fried fish, beef meat pies, spicy cauliflower, Mao's style pork belly. Be warm the spicy cauliflower and Mao's style pork belly is spicy with a kick. Generally the duck is good, the price is fair. I think the meat pie is also great. Will definitely come here again if don't want to go too far for Peking Duck!

One of the best Peking ducks I've had in the Bay Area! The menu at taste good Beijing is super authentic Beijing (from a friend who grew up in Beijing). Many dishes you can't find elsewhere or you can't find as authentic elsewhere. My highlight is definitely the Peking duck. It's served in the Beijing style with Chinese pancakes, cucumbers, sauce (not sure what's called), and sliced at the right thickness. For bones and remaining duck meat, you can choose between soup and fried, recommend going with the soup as it's very tasty and refreshing. You usually have to make a reservation specifically for the Peking duck, but sometimes they have extra in stock so you can choose to wait for ~1h (definitely worth the wait). Our server was also super accommodating and served our duck first (we didn't have a res and were supposed to wait longer) cuz another group with res had not gotten their full party. We ordered a lot, averaged to ~$50 per person post tax and tip.

Peking duck was my first love. The flavor, the fats, the crispiness, and the combination of fresh green onions in a chewy thin wrap is really worth an indulgence for special occasions. I came here twice for two birthday meals, and I LOVED it both times. Keep in mind, I just love peking duck that much. The service might be tough since we had to flag down the waiters multiple times in Mandarin. (Any worse service and I don't think I can stay biased.) My boyfriend said this peking duck is standard in China, so I'm glad to be able to taste some here! Some tips to make your experience better: 1. CALL AHEAD one hour in advance so they prep the duck! (A MUST) 2. Order just the peking duck and a soup on the side 3. One order was able to feed four people, but maybe my friends were just being polite or had small stomachs! I'll try two people per oder next time. I would love to come back here again and again, but that might make it less special. I'd highly recommend trying it though, it's pretty addictive for me

Many Chinese restaurants established in early days are Cantonese style southern Chinese cuisine. As more recent immigrants from China surged, the restaurant option is diversified to add Sichuan and Beijing style which has more noodle instead of rice dish. I came to the Milpitas location for a family birthday lunch celebration. I forgot to take photos of some dishes before we all jumped on them. Celery with dried bean curd rolls, house special clear noodle, and pig skin jelly not shown. We enjoyed everything ordered. The roast duck requires 24-hour advanced order. They are very busy during peak hours. So I would recommend lunch time reservation between 11-12 starting time, and dinner at 5 pm to avoid the crowd and get better service. They are also busy with lots of takeouts. For an authentic northern style Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend this place. There is another location in Cupertino, but it is the original Milpitas location serves better. Try their Chinese hamburger (Smash Stewed Pork Bun) with a little kick!

    Loooooong line. Staff are slooooooow

Bad experience from ordering to pickup. I will go into that more, but first, let's grade the food that I ordered. Yangzhou fried rice: 2.5/5 it tastes decent, but the Chinese sausages they used is not good quality. Charging $15, it's overpriced. Peking duck: 4/5. A must have, and probably why you are reading this place's reviews. Experience is probably better for dine-in, but for pickup, it's not so good. You get 2 boxes of warm skin and meat, a cold duck cages, a bag of cold wraps out from their fridge, hoisin sauce, and a tiny case of green onion, cantaloupe, and cucumbers for wrapping. The duck tastes pretty good. Keep in mind that all ducks are oily. This is where you find a ton of oil on the bottle of each box. We will use the duck carcass for porridge on the next day. But why did they take out the tongue? That's the best part! We needed to steam the wraps ourselves. We didn't like the wraps, so we bought a bag of buns of Peking duck from an Asian supermarket. OK, now, why did I not have a good experience? 1. Online ordering DID NOT WORK. They ended up charging me, and will be refunded later. I'm still waiting. 2. They gave me the pick up time when I ordered over the phone. The really don't care about your pick up time. It's really first come first serve. I showed up 30 min early, and there was already a long line. They were very slow in everything while the food was already prepared way ahead of time. I didn't get my order until 35 min after my pick up time for a total of 65 min! 3. They don't sanitize the pens between uses. Beware. TL;DR: 1. Don't order online. Call to order. It's best to call the day before. 2. Get there an hour early to get in line. Expect a long line because they are very slow. They don't care the pick up time they tell you over the phone. 3. If you don't like the Peking duck wraps, buy the buns from an Asian grocery story ahead of time. You need to steam either one or both anyways 4. must order Peking duck. Others, not so much. 5. Bring gloves, sanitizer, or your own pen. They don't sanitize the pens after each use.

Overall, the food was good, I enjoyed the Peking. duck and the service was pleasant and I enjoyed the ambience. Now, my guest from Beijing had opposing opinions, they said the food did not taste good. The layers of flavors were missing and the food was bland. Ouch, but I understand. It is different to match cooking from Beijing to here, but I commend the effort in trying to match what Beijing has to offer. Okay, the take away is, the food is great, but don't expect the same level as if in Beijing... but it is pretty good. The place is cozy and clean.

The Chinese sausage pieces sprinkled throughout added extra flavor too. The bowl is deep so there seemed to be roughly 5 cups of rice. Unfortunately the laksa shrimp fried rice was disappointing in comparison. It didn't have much flavor overall - better than plain rice but definitely needed more seasoning. The menu lists homemade laksa sauce as an ingredient but we didn't taste that, and the dish wasn't spicy at all either despite the 1 chili pepper rating. But it looked just like the menu picture so maybe the description is wrong. Fried chicken with tom yum sauce came with 6 pieces. Very juicy. We also enjoyed the herbal roasted prime steak with sausage rice. The delicious rice had the taste of fish sauce. Most of the short rib slices were soft and a few were slightly chewy but overall decent quality. Some of the fattier pieces of meat were still attached to the bone.

The flavor is comforting and well-balanced without being overly salty, and the texture is smooth and satisfying. I highly recommend pairing it with their dough stick (youtiao). It's crispy on the outside, slightly chewy inside, while still staying light and fluffy. Dipping it into the congee completely changes the experience and honestly feels like a must-order combination. Another standout for me is the steamed spareribs with black bean and taro. The spareribs are tender and flavorful, and the black bean sauce adds a savory depth without overpowering the dish. Service continues to be efficient and well-organized, even when busy. One thing I noticed is that the restaurant is especially popular with elderly customers, which honestly says a lot about the food being comforting, traditional, and consistent. For something heartier, the Wonton Noodle Soup features a very clean, savory broth and snap-to-the-bite noodles. I actually like this better as I don't feel rush to order and gives me the chance to look through the menu without feeling rush to order. Iced water was brought out instantly. We ordered the following: 1. Lamb skewer, spicy: you can smell the intensity of the spice when the dish was brought out from the chili powder. The meat is moist and grilled well w/ a nice crisp. There is no gamey smell. I took a first bite but the chili powder slightly burned my gums. Had to ask Hubby to shake some of the chili poweder off the skewers for me. Its a messy dish but very tasty. 2. Spicy beef soup w/ wide noodles: Noodles are HUGE! About 1.5 inches wide and forever long. I had to use the scissors to cut it up. Noodles are good. Chewey texture just as I like it. Comes with a whole egg and beef. The broth has a nice spice to it and unlike other spicy noodle soup I've tried, it does not taste oily or overwhelmed with spices esp Sze Chuan chilis. It had a good balace of savory and spiciness. 3. Wide noodles w/ braised chicken: This dish is delish but it's a BIG dish like a whole chicken was prepared! Can feed up to 4-5 people. It's the size of a medium pizza or even a Large. The thick sauce is very flavorful but not salty. It comes with potatoes, carrots, onions, green bell peppers, and dried whole chili. Its not spicy but may be for kids as we have a high spicy tolerance. Only thing about this plate I didn't like it there's bones. We ended 2 more meals with the leftover. The noodles are hand pulled in house as we sat by the kitchen and saw the kitchen staff making it. Food comes out pretty quick and service is very good. The staff are very attentive and met our needs promptly. We definitely will return to try other plates as the menu is pretty big.

Will definitely make a pit stop in Milpitas for Taiwan Cafe next time in Milpitas and highly recommend for anyone who's looking for a taste of some excellent Taiwanese cooking.
