    Scallion pancakes- greasy but good
    Annie T.

I was passing through with my daughter, and we were craving Chinese food for lunch. More Than Bento had a good variety of yummy dishes so we ordered a bento box with tofu (you don't get to choose your sides; they gave us a "mix of what was left", they said), scallion pancakes, and Sticky Rice Bowl with pork. The Sticky Rice Bowl was not what I expected. It was a bowl of rice balls stuffed with pork that was boiled in water. I had never eaten that before, but I love sticky rice, so I was excited to try something new. It was a 6 out of 10. The sticky rice tasted more like gummy flour dough, the pork filling was nicely salted, and the bowl of water was just displeasing to look at. Haha. My daughter enjoyed the fried tofu, and we both loved the scallion pancakes, albeit it was dripping with grease, but still delicious. Interior was clean and service was good. Parking is easy. The restaurant is located at a 2-story outdoor Ulferts strip mall. All in all, the meal hit the spot and we enjoyed it. If we are in the area next time, we would get the pancakes again and try their dumplings.

God forbid you use the bathroom as a PAYING customer. Also only 1 napkin per customer don't think you're gonna get anything more! If I could give less than a star I would. Let's do better, this is why the place is empty. ;(

This was a good balanced lunch. A lot of food and it also comes with rice. There's a good variety of bento box options to choose from. I liked the cabbage a lot. The pork belly was also cooked well. The tofu and tomato and egg were okay. I like my tomato and eggs sweeter and cooked longer though (personal preference).

Good portions and absolutely loved their vegetable side dishes they include in their bento. Friendly and fast, would definitely come here next time.

Went there for lunch with my parents who were visiting from Shanghai. We got the braised lotus, braised chicken legs, dumplings and turmeric chicken roll. My mum also specifically wanted the rice ball with pork and meat mooncake to see if it is authentic Shanghainese food. Everything tasted really good we really liked it. The lotus and chicken legs had a nice smoky flavor and the braised sauce went all the way into the food. It also has a little spicy to add the kick into it. Dumplings were also very good, with thin dumplings skin wrapping the juicy meat inside. The meat inside was surprisingly fresh and juicy. I wasn't sure what vegetable was in there but my parents liked it and said it tasted like the authentic ones. I will come back again. Tumeric chicken rolls were also really good. Chicken was tender and flavorful with the nice mixed scent of tumeric and Chinese wine. Meat was fresh and didn't taste dry at all!

I want to come back for lunch so I can get their Yunnan Rose Coffee or Tea Latte. It says on the menu that their coffee beans and tea leaves are from pristine mountains of Yunnan. They do serve coffee for dinner time but I can't take the caffeine at night. The service is above average for a chinese restaurant. The waiter was pretty patience with us as we brought an elderly guest with us at the table so we took a little longer to enjoy our meal. The interior design of the restaurant is pretty interesting where the booth is align an triangular shape with a center piece so the tables can be put together for larger parties very easily. Definitely easier to get a table for parties of 4 or less but it will work out for larger parties as well.

V E R D I C T Came here with two friends who are OBSESSED with spice, and this spot delivered They've got such a wide variety of dishes, including some super unique, hard-to-find ones As a mushroom lover, this was EVERYTHING. They use shiitake mushrooms and don't hold back -- the portion is generous and the flavor is unreal. I could honestly eat this every single day. The vibe is also a whole moment. Cozy, warm, and gives you that greenery feel without actual plants -- just super inviting and perfect for a chill meal with friends. If you're into spicy food or want to try something different, this is your spot.

The Shrimp Rice Rolls are the clear star--the rice noodle is incredibly smooth and thin, which is the mark of a great chang fen. They don't skimp on the shrimp, and the sweet soy sauce ties it all together perfectly. For something heartier, the Wonton Noodle Soup features a very clean, savory broth and snap-to-the-bite noodles. The Pork Congee is also a winner; it's silky, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a cold day or when you're craving something soothing. We also grabbed the Shiu Mai, which were plump and well-seasoned with a great meat-to-shrimp ratio. The kitchen is efficient, and the flavors are consistently authentic. It's a reliable spot for a great quality, traditional meal that never misses the mark. Prices are reasonable and service is fairly quick but there's also a QR code for an optional online ordering for some.

The service is what you'd expect at an Asian restaurant in the Bay -- efficient and no frills -- but gets the job done well. Immediately after the food arrived -- we dug in. Not just because we were famished, but because it was THAT good. (One of those situations where you stop talking and just eat...) I'd wholly recommend the Oyster Pancake (a balance of briny seafood with sweet pancake sauce) and the Specialty Hakka Noodles ("Q," i.e. chewy, in the most perfect sense). Will definitely make a pit stop in Milpitas for Taiwan Cafe next time in Milpitas and highly recommend for anyone who's looking for a taste of some excellent Taiwanese cooking.
