Family friendly Chinese restaurant that serves halal meat. Ordered chicken corn soup Chicken chow mein Free ice cream when you dine in with a self-serve dispensary. Plenty of parking in the shared lot.

Overall, an excellent spot for Chinese food with fast service and genuinely kind staff. I came here with some colleagues on a weekday and we ordered the beef and broccoli, prawns with walnuts, chicken with cashew nuts, calamari with hot pepper and salt, beef chow fun with bean sprouts, and mapo tofu. Everything was delicious! The mapo tofu was a different style than I'm used to, but it still had great flavor. And the soft serve machine at the end was such a fun touch. Perfect for group dining!

Only tried their Sesame Bread and the Lamb Pickled Cabbage Soup. Highly recommend the sesame bread--crispy on the outside, soft inside, loaded with white sesame seeds and tons of chopped green onions. Super fragrant and satisfying! The soup, on the other hand, was just okay. It had a decent sour kick, but lacked richness and didn't have much lamb in it.

I loved the sizzling rice soup. It's a simple soup and if places can't get it right it's like what the heck. it was a huge portion! chinese broccoli was good as well. We got the steamed sea bass and it was so yummy. I wish it had a little more the soy sauce mixture and more ginger on top. We will come back again. they have hong kong style chow mein which is my fave. Loved the free soft serve! They have seating for large groups. we spent $80.

This is a great spot for Chinese food! We were seated immediately, and they brought a pot of hot tea for us. We ordered: -Large assorted seafood warm pot ($29.95): This soup is filled with delicious seafood and vermicelli, and was such a generous portion. Even after we all drank several bowls, we still had quite a lot of leftover to eat the next day. If your group likes soup, you'll like this dish. -Prawns with walnuts ($22.95): The prawns were succulent. My friend, who dislikes seafood, ate two prawns, so you know it's definitely worth getting. -Sesame bread with green onion ($15.95): This was so filling that we didn't order any rice. It's crispy and satisfying. -Beef with green onions ($19.50): The beef is tender, and reminiscent of Mongolian beef. -Spicy ox-tendon ($11.95): This is a good appetizer, and has a nice amount of spice. The service was quick and efficient. They refilled our tea after we ran out. Also, the food came out pretty soon after we ordered. I love the self-serve ice cream machine at the end of the meal. It was the perfect end to the meal.

I have come twice recently since the awful experience 10 years ago and am happy to report that their service has improved immensely. They have also done some interior remodeling and changed out their tableware and silverware for new ones. I didn't get to take photos of each dish, but am happy to say that all dishes were delicious and they even offer self served ice cream at the end of your meal. It's also nice to see that business is booming for them. I will be returning quite a bit to try other dishes.

I finally got to try this place and lord the portions are huge. You prolly will only eat a little and you're full cuz the portions are for 2-3 ppl ! We got some fried rice and soup noodles but the noodles are so thick they took away the soup already lol. The service is fast but food does take a little time to come, the store could be a little loud but feels pretty homey. Would come back again !

Family friendly restaurant serving Chinese fare. Generous portions, great flavor, and reasonable prices. Each dish made for sharing between large families, can easily feed 4 people minimum. Plenty of options to choose from. Don't miss the self serve ice cream + cones on the way out!

My favorite Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Great place to dine in or take out. A plus is that they have a complimentary ice cream machine, so make sure you get a ice cream cone before you head out :) Some of my fav dishes are the eggplant with spicy garlic sauce, cumin lamb, beef broccoli and tbh everything on the menu is delicious. Must try the sesame bread with green onion too! There's never a long wait here. Very quick service. Delicious food! I highly recommend Ma's Restaurant :)

This restaurant is as good as it was in my memory. Great taste and big portion of its food, and a free cone of ice cream after meal! (Well... it used to be no limit many many years ago if I remembered it right) I always like a restaurant offers free hot tea. It does

Service was a standout. I came here for dinner by myself completely forgetting this place is halal (I originally wanted sweet and sour pork lol). I decided to just get orange chicken to satisfy my craving because it's close enough. The orange chicken was sweet with a nice crunch. I liked that the dish also had little wanton crisps that helped counteract the sweetness of the sauce. The portion size is definitely for 2 people so the price isn't bad. The staff was kind and continuously checked up on me. I felt they were very efficient with attending to the guests and answering the phone (one guy mainly did it all). Most importantly their attitude was great, which is hard to come by in relatively cheap restaurants these days.

Had to try this place again after 16 years later. We walked in with a party of 3 on a Tuesday lunch time around 12:30pm. It was busy but we were able to be seated right away. Food came out quickly after we ordered. Everything except the calamari with salt and pepper wasn't salty. House Fried rice was very oily though. Loved the honey walnut prawns and pea sprouts. Fast service. There's still complimentary soft serve ice cream cone at the end.

What exactly is a green onion box? I can't find a picture of it on here or with google.

Hi Chris, you probably mean green onion pancake. Someone has posted that on one of the reviews. Thx.

You place your order through a QR code, which makes the process quick and easy. This visit, we ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings, Tidu Sliced Beef Pot, and Tianjin Eggplant. The wings are a must-order here. They're always perfectly fried and crispy on the outside while still staying juicy and tender inside. The Tidu Sliced Beef Pot reminded me of a dry hot pot. It had a great mala flavor with a subtle numbing sensation, and the peanuts added a nice crunch and texture to the dish. The Tianjin Eggplant was simple but delicious, with flavorful pork that paired really well with the soft eggplant. Overall, the food here is comforting and satisfying. It's a place I'll definitely keep coming back to.

I was missing some ingredients that were listed and wish it was more customizable but the flavor was on point (especially with the numbing flavor that gives MaLa its signature name). Not the same Mayflower that I went to growing up but this place did NOT disappoint…read more We were in the mood for dim sum on the way to the T&T grocery store opening and yelp brought us here. We walked in right at opening to a completely empty dining room. Instead of leaving, we browsed the menu and ordered XLB, pot stickers, jelly fish, and pea sprouts (my personal fav) so glad we didn't leave! The XLB are a nice size, with each precious dumpling cradled in its own foil wrapper for maximum soup retention. The potstickers were full of flavor, packed with protein, delicately wrapped, and had the crispiest, golden bottoms! Jelly fish was fresh and the pea sprouts were a hit! The poor owner answering the phones made sure (in all languages) to inform folks calling in that there were a different May Flower than the other place-felt terrible for her but also understood the importance of differentiating right up front. I can only imagine the number of misorders they have probably dealt with. By the time we were done, the dining room was filled with a mix of what seemed like regulars, locals, large groups of families, small groups of friends... this feels like we stumbled upon a tiny hole in the wall restaurant where everyone who has been before just knows the quality and taste they are going to be getting! Highly recommend you check this place out for a dine in or take out order!

This is one of the handful of American Chinese restaurants that stood the test of time. As is typical of these places, there was an old lady manning the counter and also acting as the server. And as is typical of these places, there was table at the end where they were prepping the fruits and veggies. It's truly remarkable how they are all similar in these ways! We got a couple of dishes and they came out at lightning speed. * Chowmein-3/5- delicious with lots of umami flavor but shockingly greasy. I mean I am used to oily noodles but this one exceeded some limits. *crispy salt and pepper eggplant-3/5- I had a stellar version of this dish at another restaurant in Sunnyvale and was stoked when I saw this on the menu here. Unfortunately it was a poor representation of the dish I loved there. The batter was too much and the dish felt heavy. The hot oil or sauce they had felt old and extremely vinegary as well, I would recommend avoiding it.
