I worked with two gentlemen who were extremely helpful (Josh & my apologies for not remembering the other gent's name). I told them that I may have to return to get some modifications done. They were absolutely accommodating and made it a breeze. When I came in today, I felt bad for coming close to closing time. Josh was extremely accommodating and made me feel as though the problem I was trying to solve was an easy fix. Long over due review. Went to tap Plastics with a fairly time consuming project. Vaughn was a bit stuffy at first but then he warmed up. He took great care of us and we got exactly what we needed. He said they were short and employee so maybe that was the standoffishness . We were very pleased with the end product and will definitely use Tap Plastic in Pleasanton again. I will note that there were three customers including me and both employees were working on projects So there was a wait. One gentleman left and left all the items he wanted to buy on the counter. Both employees were busy helping customers so nothing they can do But they should have addressed the long wait and communicated with us about it. Give them a go. read more

Great customer service! Came in today to get some plastic shelves made for my medicine cabinet. Steve the manager was professional, knowledgeable and quick with his service. I brought in my old shelve so they could measure it for size. He asked me what I was looking for and gave me a few options. I decided on 5 shelves of green edged plastic. Steve recommended I pay extra to have them polished to really give that glass like effect. I'm very happy with how they came out. And so affordable! I appreciate fast and efficient service. Haven't been here for awhile. Called to get an estimate, gent asked me for a credit card, said if pay cash when I came in. Went in later, went to counter, said I had called and what I wanted.... Guy went in back, came out with piece, I paid, I left. We are first time customers to TAP Plastics, but we are now forever customers. Our local art framing shop quoted us for non-glare UV protection plastic for our art, but said we could go to TAP Plastics for a big savings. We saved $260. We supplied them with the dimensions given to us from our framer and they did the work right on the spot. When we received the artwork back from the framer, it looked as if one of the two pieces of Plastics we had cut, was not non-glare as we had ordered. We called TAP Plastics and they said they would have another one ready when we got there. The employees at TAP Plastics were very kind and knowledgeable, and the manager Art was gracious and friendly. Their shop had many items and a selection of plastic containers and artsy plastic we really enjoyed seeing. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

I had a 61 inch long model to cover. TAP plastic created a perfectly sized match for the model saying it was the biggest box they had ever made. I've been going to this store for years and every time the staff is super helpful and nice. I went in yesterday to buy some abs plastic and Vaughn Hangartner not only knew but game me a demonstration on how to glue the pieces together. He also gave me a container of some of the glue mix they had at the store. It really helps when people who work somewhere know what they're talking about and Vaughn clearly does. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Although they weren't able to help us in their store, they directed us to other options. My mom has been in search of a doll case for ages and the staff there were going to charge about $100 an hour to make a custom one. That's a bit much but they told us there are other places to look if we were so inclined. There was absolutely no pressure to go with them. They do have a lot of really cool stuff in their shop so if I do feel like I need something custom made, I will definitely go back. Now, if I can only get their jingle out of my head. Hi, just a small complaint that set me off today . I own a small glass company in town and I go out of my way to help my local customers out even if it means no money what it means is they will be back need be. I've done business with Tap for the past 20yrs . My question . Why are all your prices so much more higher then else where obviously I'm not talking about your whole store just in plastic in general specifically ABS, Poli Carb , Plexiglas etc.. Today I called about ABS Plastic not to get into details it was twice as much as everyone around you. is it because your so busy building spit guards and throwing your hands up to double down on your product. I sure hope not . I understand supply and demand but taking advantage of the situation is not right . I was very happy and very educated on my first visit to this store, the elder gentleman (didn't get his name) was exceedingly helpful and very knowledgeable about my desired project, I have just bought a laser cutter and he was more than helpful in choosing my product with a very helpful guidance against the wrong product which could have had intoxication effect if I had just bought what ever I wanted! I don't know much about plastics but I stopped in just to look around. The store is bright and well laid out, and the employees seem happy. There were a few people in the store already. I think it's important to have access like this to plastics at the retail level where you don't have to buy 5000 pieces in order to get what you want. Out family has used TAP services for almost 10 years now. We have used them for brochure holders and all office type needs. Along with solutions for the garage and yard. They have a unique shop in the back where they can create most ideas you might have for your specifics needs. My wife used them to create an organizer for her sewing needs and I used the exact same unit for my fishing and tackle box Only thing is thy are somehwhat expensive but considering its a custom job and your needs may be very specific ... When I thought they were done, Jon and the other very elderly gentleman basically started to brief each other about their life histories. These guys rock. TAP used to only be good for making long cylinders with mesh inside. Now they do all sorts of neat things and they are very helpful with other projects. They've helped out on more than one home based project. Just remember when you go there, they perform work on plastics. So they place might smell funky. If you are sensitive to that, send someone else in for you. read more

They're my fantastic plastic place... even if I don't think that commercial still runs. A nice variety of all things not metal; we've managed to infuse their materials into a number of recent projects, and they're open to pointing you in the right direction when either the scope of the project is under-planned (gosh, I never do that), or the two pieces I've asked for won't actually fit together (handy to know BEFORE they start cutting), so I can adjust accordingly. There may be instances where helpfulness is taken as intrusive, but on the balance, even the seemingly intrusive "what'cha working on?" questions morph into suggestions of how to do something better, make it easier to assemble, etc. read more

I used to go to this place when they were located in Dublin. The staff here at their new store seems to be largely different but just as helpful, plus they seem to be busier here. The showroom is about the same size, though it is laid out differently. If you're doing boat work this is probably one of the places you'd want to go. They do however NOT (unsurprisingly) sell plate glass, I love the tome written by Elizabeth R. The 500+ word paragraph is a stitch dedicated to communication issues. Anyway, they also do build stuff here from the plastic they sell, make sure you have some plans drawn out though in inches and fractions, they don't do decimal inches. Last time I was in there the builder was making LOTS of identical clear boxes with drawers. Tap sells lighting plastic as well which is the main thing I get here, they will cut what they sell to size for free _provided_ it can be done with a table saw. Any special shapes they will charge extra for. read more

Lots and lots and lots of plastic stuff here. It smells like yucky plastic in this store. I suggest you buy your item quick and leave.
