    Frayed top of Chair

This review is for my November 3, 2025, interaction with Lowes Livermore Store #1150 regarding customer service I received (or a total lack thereof I should say) involving a patio furniture purchase. First off, I would like to thank Stephanie who initially assisted me at the customer service desk. She found the receipt/record of my purchase in the computer, and she then requested the assistance of the Assistant Store Manager on duty. She also printed out a copy of the original receipt for me upon request. I had brought in one of two A+R Townsend 2 count Patio Furniture Swivel Chairs which were purchased May 21, 2024. The chairs had become seriously frayed at the top of the chair back which we first noticed a few months ago. The non-swivel chairs did not show this type of wear but both swivel chairs did (see photos). I found it unusual that only two of the six chairs had this fraying and both chairs were of the swivel variety. After about a 15-minute wait, the Assistant Store Manager walked up to the counter. He walked right past me and my chair (which he did not inspect), looked over the shoulder of the clerk assisting me (Stephanie) and said to me "the chair is out of warranty, there is nothing we can do". At no time did he say hi, how may I help you? or introduce himself to me by name or title or even acknowledge me as a customer. I only knew his name by his name tag. He basically said, "What do you want? the chairs are two years old". They are not two years old, they were purchased, 17 months ago in the store. I told him the quality of the chair is substandard. I asked who else I could speak to and he said "Corporate". When I asked for the corporate number, he pointed to the large sign on the wall beside him and said "1-800 Lowes". When I asked him who the store manager of this store was, he pointed to the photo and printed name of the store manager on the sign on the wall without speaking to me. In my opinion as a consumer and loyal customer of Lowes, this individual, if solely based on his customer service skills, is totally unfit to be an Assistant Store Manager. He showed absolutely zero empathy for my complaint. He exhibited zero appreciation for me as a customer. When I asked him if he would like to purchase patio furniture that wore out like this in a short period of time, he had no response. I can tell you that I will NEVER, EVER purchase patio furniture of any kind from Lowes again. I strongly recommend that others look elsewhere for patio furniture also. I will seriously consider if I want to even shop at this particular store, managed by Chad Dewayne given that there another store nearby should I feel the need to shop at Lowes. Lowes has always been my go-to choice for home related purchases. Even Stephanie said to me "There are a lot of purchases linked to your name in the system, but I think I can find your order for the chairs". I can assure you, Lowes will no longer be my first choice for shopping after this most unpleasant experience. I will call 1-800 Lowes but I expect nothing in return and believe it will be a total waste of my time. As an Update to this review: I chatted with a Lowes Online Representative that informed me that the chairs I purchased were actually still under the manufacturer's warranty (Roth Allen). The manufacturer's warranty is 3 years - not one year as the store #1150's Assistant Manager (Jerry) told me. I was then directed to a Lowes customer support number and spoke to a lovely woman based in NC. She put me in direct contact with another Lowes Representative that handles Allen Roth Patio Furniture warranty issues. That individual authorized a 100% refund upon return of the items to Lowes. While this action on the part of Lowes Corporate has renewed my faith in Lowes in terms of their customer service, it by no means eliminates the rudeness and total lack of product warranty knowledge and lack of professionalism that I experienced at the hands of an Assistant Store Manager at Lowes Store #1150.

One of the better Lowe's in the Area. I don't know but to me, farther out of the Bay Area, you get a better selection of furniture, materials and plants or trees! Does anyone agree with me?! I like going here as they are pretty organized and well stocked. Always plenty of parking and staff to help as well. [9th/100]

This store management is certainly lacking. The way this store deals with customers is apparently based on fraud. This Livermore Lowes store sells electrical items that are store returns (also known as refurbished) as brand new. They repackage the items and list them back on shelves to sell again as brand new. I have several incidents with this store when I buy an item (mostly a power tool) that I end up discovering that it has been used and it is a store return. I reached out to several employees in a friendly manner and several has confirmed that they quickly repackage power tools .. etc and put them up for sale. This is simply Fraud. When a customer buys an item and especially a power tool, it is imperative that the tool is brand new in factory sealed box. If not, then it can only be described as fraud. You have to mark the box as refurbished by law. This is simple violation of the California consumer law. It is fraudulent to not mark the refurbished items as such (that includes store returns, demo items... etc). The reason I come to realize how dangerous this practice is the following. I recently bought a power tool. The box was not sealed but that is not abnormal. You know not all manufacturers seal the boxes with a safety seal. When I arrived home and opened the box, I discovered that the description on the box does not reflect the tool functionality itself. Therefore, I decided to return it. When I arrived to store, the lady (I have all names and they have been reported as fraud to consumer protection and Lowes HQ in both written and verbal communication by name). When I arrived, the lady asked if I used it, I said NO because I didn't use it. I know I didn't. I opened the box of course but didn't use it. She then opened the box, turn the box upside down and emptied the box on the table. The power tool is heavy so it slammed on the table. Right there I was frustrated why would she do that instead of gently taking the tool out. Then she started examining the plugs and the tool. She was literally wiping the dust and said that "you used it." Immediately I responded "no". And that is right there a claim that I lied. Based in her inspection. This was the escalation point. After multiple altercations she said that she can not refund because it is used. Of course that is another violation of Lowes return policy. When you buy an item, you can return it with 7 days even if you used it. I asked for the manager. He showed up. The manager didn't inspect the item. Instead he attempted to offer me a store credit as a "curtesy." I explained to him that I don't need his curtesy. If the return policy on LOWES does not allow the return of the item, I refuse his curtesy. Of course I refused it because the front lady accused me of lying. That is the big deal. If she has the ability to assume I am a liar and the store manager does not understand how it is a big mistake of accusing people of lying. Then it is a big deal. I, of course, refused the store credit and asked for a full refund back to my credit card. Just because she accused me of lying and the manager failed to handle the situation. The device is now with me and I intend to use its log usage to expose this fraud. In the mean time, LOWES is not a store I, or anyone I know, will visit. Of course the Livermore location. Moreover, Lowes has no online written complaints system. They have an an email but do not announce on the website. The email is customercare@lowes.com They avoid written complaints and only provide phone. However, I reached to HQ to senior directors my own ways. The other way for the public is to tag their twitter handle. They attempt to absorb some of the complaints due to publicity. Of course this issue is fraud and will lead to larger scale fraud exposure. To continue...

Curbside pick up was terrible. I'm watching two younger gentlemen pretend to work in the parking lot while I wait for my order.

Fortunately I had taken a photo for Yelp and showed it to VJ. He was able to correct the mistake and charge me the advertised price. This review is specifically towards Lowes Installation Service…read more This is the WORST service ...very un-professional sub contractors. Lowes does not own installation team, but rely solely on subcontractors. 1.We paid Lowes full price for installation and was assured scheduler will call within 48 hours 2. Had to call Lowes after 96 hours waiting...who gave me subcontractor number.....who happens to be in LA, while I am located in SF bay area 3. The subcontracttor NEVER called, I had to call 3-4 different times to be "assured" installer will call me 4. After 4 times, they gave installer number ( name AJ )....who never ever answered the phone 5. Finally after lot of escalations by Lowes install team, so called AJ called this morning telling ( not asking) that he will visit between 100 and 130 6. AJ does not have simply courtesy to call/text that he is running late 7. Shows up at 345....one look and says he can not install garage door opener ...the reason he gave is power outlet point is not exactly above opener motor. 8. Asked if its building code, he explained Lowes prohibits to install if power outlet is not directly above motor....and he will call Lowes to cancel installation. VERY unprofessional installer...but thats only installer Lowes has. Anyways....stay away from Lowes Install....far far away,....
