We went to CBD a couple of years ago to purchase appliances for a complete kitchen remodel and more recently to swap out some appliances in a new home we recently purchased. Sharon and her team were phenomenal. For the first purchase we selected on Sharon's recommendation a complete KitchenAid suite consisting of double oven, dishwasher, stovetop, refrigerator and microwave. Plus a stove hood and a few other pieces. Excellent selection and very competitive pricing. For our new home we swapped out some crappy appliances pre-selected by the builder and purchased a GE refrigerator and our first Miele dishwasher, and chose a Speed Queen ensemble for laundry. Couldn't be happier with any of the selections. I want to note that our move took us east of Sacramento from the Bay Area, and we were able to select our appliances from their Livermore store with products shipped to, held, and delivered from their Rocklin location, and everything went smoothly and professionally, from start to finish. Sharon even hooked us up with a top notch installer, who after installing new appliances, took our new but swapped-out appliances to local family, installed them at their locations, and then took away their old appliances. I had bought a very expensive Liebherr Fridge floor model (slight ding on side) from a (not to be named, but has the word "Airport" in it) larger chain retail store. (full price is upwards of $3k+). When my floor model arrived - it did not work on day 1. When I contacted the Liebherr Corporate about a repair under their warranty, I found out that my "new" unit was 6 years old. I was going nuts for four weeks trying to get the chain store to make it right - either fix the fridge, OR get a discount on a new (un-dinged) unit for all my trouble. What they were pushing for was that I pay the price increase/difference for a New unit, and they would cover 50% of the extended warranty, which I found to be an unacceptable make good. Needless to say - I was trying to find an alternate solution I could live with - I really did not want to "reward" the chain store with EVEN MORE of my hard-earned money. Taking the matter into my own hands - I called a bunch of retailers and got various quotes on the same model of a NEW Liebherr fridge. When I called CBD, I got Sharon on the phone & she quickly sent me an email quote on the same model that was $200 lower than said chain store (and lower than all the others I called in the bay area) - CBD's lower price nearly covered the cost of "50% extended warranty" the box store was offering to make it right. In the end - Leibherr Corporate is forcing my original store to make it right with a brand new fridge for my original price. So while I was without a fridge for a month, I did - in the end - get a pretty good deal, but surely I paid the difference in time, frustration and absolute outrage. If I had started here with Sharon at CBD, I would not have as much grey hair. When I am in the market for a 24" stove upgrade, I am coming here first! read more

I purchased all of my appliances and my kitchen sink from CBD after a house fire in 2015. I splurged on one thing- an approximately $4000 under cabinet freezer. Within a few months of install the freezer started to overheat and would have to be completely emptied. This continued to happen and I would call the company who made it (Perlick) and they would tell me to defrost it for 24 hours. Tell me the point of having an additional freezer that needs to be fully defrosted every 2 months for 24 hours!?! Anyway, fast forward two years and the freezer breaks completely and I bother CBD until they FINALLY do something to help, they get Perlick to replace the freezer. Well the new freezer shows up and the damage to my floors and cabinets from the freezer defrosting all those times has made it impossible to remove the old broken freezer. The installation guy leaves both the old and new freezer. It has been two or three months and the NEW freezer has already broken once and the old one is still stuck in my kitchen with my floors and cabinets rotting around it. CBD has not helped me at all and told me just to call Perlick, whom completely ignore my emails and phone calls. I would expect the company where I purchased this piece of garbage to at least TRY to help me as their customer. I will never spend another dime at CBD. If I'm going to be on my own I might as well spend way less and buy from a big box store. Our 16 year old Dacor wall oven died in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis and I searched the Internet for a replacement and came across CBD and spoke with Sharon. She provided several options that would be compatible with our oven replacement. We ended up with an 'display oven/open box' GE Monogram oven at a very competitive price. Sharon is extremely knowledgeable and will NOT 'up-sale' you to a higher priced product but will focus on your needs and advise you with a compatible appliance to best meet your needs. We did the install ourselves using some innovation methods and the oven fit perfectly. The build quality on these ovens is extremely good along with simple controls with a manual function knob on the left and a temperature knob on the right. In the center is a electronic LED display with manual push buttons below it (real buttons - not surface panel buttons). Sharon's team prepped the oven for safe transport, loaded the oven into our truck, helped secure it properly and verbally reviewed best transport & installation steps to follow... all the time while practicing social distancing and wearing protective gear. The new GE Monogram oven performs far beyond our expectations and is worth the price given its 5 star reviews, obvious build quality, straightforward controls, and detailed owners manual. They typically work with contractors, but will work with the public by appointment only and give you the prices that they provide to contractors. Just purchased a Dual Fuel GE Café Range from CBD and it was a great experience. I did not get a chance to work with Sharon (wow, such positive reviews) but worked with Michael instead. As a company that came so highly recommended by several contractors, I wonder how we seemed to draw such a short straw. We bought a new Thermador stove, double ovens, hood, and dish washer. It was very easy to make an appointment. Meeting Sharon in person was great, she is very charismatic, as well as the rest of the staff there. The pricing is fair, but the benefit, she claimed, is she is an authorized dealer. We went with her because we wanted a headache-free experience and to deal with someone that would be the middle person if there were a problem. We chose to stick mostly with Thermador, and bought from an authorized dealer because the brand has worked well for us in the past. We had some minor hiccups between the installation and the warranty, but they seem to all get sorted out with our awesome contractors. Would be buy from Sharon again? Absolutely. My range died a few weeks before thanksgiving, when my wife and I were due to be hosting ~ 20 people at our house. After looking around on the internet and going to several other appliance stores, I ended up buying a range from California Builder Distributors. I first found CBD when they were selling a display model I was interested in on craigslist. I hadn't heard of them before, but my in-laws had bought with them previously and were very satisfied. My wife and I are pretty busy, but the staff went way out of their way to arrange a time (sometime late on a weekend evening when they should have been closed) for us to meet at their showroom and take a look at all the options. I got the feeling a lot of their business comes from contractors, or contractor referrals. I think this results in a more professional buying experience. High pressure sales is such a turnoff, so I'm glad there was none of that here (Some other stores were pretty bad). In the end we went with the display model I saw originally, but they do sell most high end brands at competitive prices. No issues arose during the purchase and installation of the range, but I have confidence these weren't the type of people to leave you hanging if something comes up. They'll definitely be my first stop when my next appliance needs replacing. read more

If there were 10 stars they would get it. I have worked with Sharon at CBD for the past 15 years and she has by far been the most knowledgable, entertaining and just down to earth person I have met. I love the fact that she as the business owner will sit down with you and take 3 to 4 hours out of her day going through her showroom showing you the features and options available on today's ever changing appliance market. You talk about show rooms... It is huge and well thought out and I was amazed at the level of professionalism her and her staff have consistently provided to me, my family, and friends over the years we have been working with them. Her pricing has always been great and again the customer service impeccable. The most important thing I have learned and experienced about appliances is this. The BIG box stores like Sears, or Airport Appliance are sometimes less expensive BUT allot of times you are buying an appliance that has been sent from the manufacturer to a storage warehouse which is then shipped to another and another until it gets to a big box store. By that time that appliance has been handled multiple times possibly bumped and jarred multiple times. As you know there are fairly sensitive electronics in these units and as they get banged around they start to fail (happened to me on more than one occasion when buying from Airports "open box" sales in the past ). CBD actually orders your stuff from the factory and it gets delivered to them. They look at the goods before delivery and you are signing off on a literally off the production line appliance. They also are VERY good with following up on getting your factory rebates turned in and I have heard stories of the big box stores dropping the ball on these types of customer service items. All in all you have to take the time to set up an appointment with them and I promise you you won't be disappointed. read more

Very knowledgeable about product. Took time to explain everything and the best written up quote with all details clearly spelt out. Even when we had a small issue with our hood, Sharon was prompt to follow up and get it for us way before our horrible contractor was ready to install it. This was our first purchases for our remodel. Big ticket items. Fridge, range, hood, dishwasher, microwave. Bought first but went in last. They were very good about holding it too, as our project got more and more delayed. I ordered whole GE cafe kitchen suite appliances including gas cooktop, built-in micro wave/convection oven combo, single built-in oven and warming drawer fro my new kitchen. I had problems with the cooktop and she arranged 4 service calls for me. After the quality problems fixed, I am still happy with the performance (Grate tool high above the flame). And She fought with GE and got them to agree to refund my money back. That's 3 month after purchase! She ordered another cooktop (Bertazzoni) for me and I got it in 2 days, is that amazing? She backed me up against the BIG guys. Otherwise I'll have to deal with them myself, which is very touch (even get some body to speak to), or live with the $1300 appliance I am not happy with. Sharon, We actually like Michael, he is a good guy, but what happened was not how you describe it so verbosely full of untruths and condescension in your message. And instead of emailing us directly or calling us when you learned we were displeased, you choose to use my name on social media. Let us get some facts right. Neither of us recalls Michael mentioning that there was a restocking fee on a product that has not even left the wharehouse. We paid $1343.57 not $1152, also we bought a top of the line Miele dishwasher which we didn't return for the full price (which is the same everywhere else) for $3031.49. So no reason to minimize the amount we spent at your store for 2 visits. The sale price was $1146.00 (including tax) which is almost $200 cheaper. While that may not be a big deal to you, it is more than the $6 you quoted. And if was so close??? Why wouldn't you match? We ordered the product on 7/23 and was targeted for delivery on 8/6 (Not expedited as you say). We even mentioned to Michael that we did not need the appliances in a rush since our home is being remodeled. You state the items had already shipped. They hadn't already shipped, they were sitting in warehouse. "From Michael's email "Typically GE charges 25% but since it's still at one of their facilities they waved it for me to 10%" This is what we were upset us. While Micheal was good to get it reduced, it is because it HADN'T SHIPPED!! I had the same experience at Home Depot and they were happy to refund 100$% of the money 2 days later. On the order it states "Returns are accepted on items returned in original packaging within one month from the date of delivery. A standard restocking fee of 25% is charged on all returned items" We didn't return anything!! We cancelled the order prior to it being shipped ( the following business day after purchasing) There was nothing to restock, it hadn't left their facility. Lying online doesn't bode well for a small business owner, you lose the trust of the public. (Any business major will tell you it's not wise). We were ready to spend thousands at your store on Miele appliances for our kitchen remodel but we are better off staying away. You do not have to educate us on the Costco business model and if you say you Match, then you match. If you don't match, then you don't. The two to three week turnaround (by the way same as your turnaround) - Two weeks for you. And honestly, we weren't mad about you not matching this one, we were mad you charched a restocking fee when nothing had shipped and also that you didn't match the home depot price. We took a loss because we were really upset about the 10%. We get that you don't and can't compete with Costco. So customers, if your the product is available at Home Depot or Costco, don't use CBD, use Home Depot or Costco. They will gladly match or refund 100% of your money. I don't need to be a business major to understand that one. The lesson to be learned here - talk to the customer and maybe we would have removed the yelp review or changed it to promote how you attempted to fix the issue, instead of trying to make the customer seem stupid and cheap.
