Purchased a 48" built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator from Friedmans. The contract clearly included in-home delivery ("deliver into home use Harvey"). On delivery day, a crew of only two movers arrived and was unable to complete the in-home placement. The unit was left outside. This was a direct failure to fulfill what was explicitly stated in the contract. To avoid delaying our project, we had to coordinate seven people on short notice to move the refrigerator into the house ourselves, and minor damage occurred during the process. When I raised this issue, the response was equally disappointing. After an initial reply, the salesperson stopped responding entirely. When I called the store, I was told that in-home delivery was not their responsibility and that I needed to follow up with the salesperson--despite the contract clearly stating otherwise. In other words, they neither honored the agreed terms nor took responsibility afterward. Very disappointing experience, especially for a high-end purchase. read more

I bought my Wolf/Sub Zero appliances from Friedman's in December 2024. The invoice totalled $31,677.37. That included the $1975 for an installer that they chose for me that's a line item in their invoice. My sales agent didn't return emails within 7 days, twice after I had paid them because I needed some clarification for the cabinet maker. I called twice and left a message for the manager of the business to call me. I never got a return call. Finally one Sunday I went out and meet the manager on duty, AJ has good customer relation skills. I told him I didn't wasn't to deal with the salesperson. He accepted this although made excuses for him. There was ALOT of communication trouble with the installer they picked for me. AJ and I talked often about this, but finally the kitchen was ready and I wanted the appliances installed. Right then, I should have found another installer. The installation was very problematic. My new counters and freshly sanded floors were not protected. I showed AJ those pictures and he agreed with me. The correct hood was not sold to me(sales person's fault) so the installer would need to come back. I said I did not want that installer to return. AJ did get Friedman's to pay another installer. I had paid the first installer in full. At that time, AJ mentioned that Friedman's is not responsible for the work of the installer(that they chose and included on their final invoice). Hmmm, interesting. When I loaded the dishwasher from my first dinner party, I found out that the dishwasher was not leveled or secured properly. The top rack kept rolling out. When I told AJ about this, he mentioned that he (as an individual salesperson) is no longer using that particular installer. When I wrote him about the ovens not leveled(the new appliance person mentioned that), he never replied. The whole appliance business is somewhat shady. They can sell your appliances if you are not quite ready but if you cancel the order there is a significant "restocking fee". Aj was, by far, the best of the bunch, but still surrounded by alot of dysfunction. Go in with your eyes open and get everything in writing about whose responsible for what. read more

We recently bought a microwave from Friedman's, and were very happy with it! Custom Appliance Installation did the install, and they were very helpful. After the initial install, the microwave's mounting was a bit wobbly, HOWEVER the installers called with a customer satisfaction survey, and after hearing about our wobbly microwave, they sent a technician out to firmly secure the microwave. I was very pleased that they followed up, and fixed the problem (with no additional fee). 10/10, would use Friedman's or Custom Appliance Installation again. read more

Miele dishwasher repair. We are very pleased with the repair service supp by Friedman. However, the repairman noted that our dishwasher was improperly installed by Friedmans delivery people and not bolted in or balanced correctly. This was amended. Friedman needs to train installation technicians better or hire more qualified ones in the future. read more

I've purchased several appliances from Friedman over the years and was always satisfied--until I bought an LG refrigerator in 2020. My sister had warned me against LG due to her own bad experiences, but the salesperson at Friedman reassured us that those issues had been resolved and convinced us to move forward with the purchase. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a big mistake. Since then, the refrigerator has had ongoing problems. Thankfully, we purchased a 5-year warranty, because we've had to rely on it for multiple repairs. The last service call, Friedman sent out JEM Appliance Repair, whose work has been mediocre at best. During the most recent service, they replaced the water dispenser and installed a new exterior panel--but it arrived dented and scratched. When I contacted JEM about it, they directed me back to Friedman. I then spoke with Emmanuel at Friedman, who assured me he would take care of the issue, but he never followed through. My calls and emails have gone unanswered. Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience compared to the service I had come to expect in the past. read more

Do yourself a favor and just STAY AWAY. We will never purchase here again. Our fridge which is only 4 years old suddenly completely stopped working and leaking water all over our floor. It's under warranty, and I have spoken to 4 different staff members in the last 24 hours, each giving me the run around and a different answer. Finally the 4th person actually booked a repair appointment, and it is an entire week away. Meanwhile we have expensive food that has spoiled, and a sick 2 year old whose medicine we can't even refrigerate and who we can't adequately cook for with no fridge. He was friendly and didn't try to push anything expensive on us like what you would expect from other reps. Delivery and installation was also buttery smooth. Their technicians William Jose and Jerry helped install the units. They were very experienced and took precaution to not scratch the units. It took two visits for me to make my decision, but I never felt rushed or pushed in any direction from Darrell. He was able to answer 95% of my questions, and readily looked up the answers to the rest. Friedman's Appliance is always fantastic. We bought both our fridge last year, and our oven from them last month. However, what I really want to rave about is our delivery from Blake with Bay Valley Appliance! Wow! This is the guy you want to install your oven! Blake gave us a call prior to schedule the delivery, and provided some great information about how this particular oven would be installed (it's more complicated than you think!). He requested some info about our current oven at the time, and answered my questions. Upon his timely arrival, he was friendly, professional and incredibly knowledgeable. It was a pretty big job given the layout of our kitchen and our old oven being so...old! Some extra work was necessary to bring the area up to date electronically and space-wise, which Blake explained clearly and with ease. He and his assistant worked tirelessly for quite some time (they were here late!), and the result was beautiful! He even adjusted the oven to cover up some old grease spots around the edges. And all for a very reasonable price. As a family who has had quite a bit of work and updates done to our home over the past 8 years, I can say that finding guys who are so reliable, communicative, and knowledgeable AND who somehow leave the kitchen CLEANER than when they arrived... is ridiculously rare.
