Great service company. First time using them and will call them when I need help with appliance. My fridge on the fritz but was still working (can hear motor running and compressor was hot to touch). Temp in freezer yesterday was -11 and today -4, fridge 43 yesterday and 50 today. Not looking good! I have a GE Monogram and booked an online appointment with GE but didn't want to wait 6 more days -- life without fridge is a huge hassle and I didn't want to food to spoil. No complaints about response time, I called and mentioned our issue with a dishwasher which was erroring and left my details and got a call back 10 mins later and someone came out to the property within 2hrs. The serviceman who showed up spent a couple minutes looking at the error code and said it would cost $270 to drain a blocked hose. The callout charge is $150 so I had no good options. He was here for less than 30mins. I'll never use this company again, an absolute ripoff but they know you don't have a choice; I wouldn't use a company with such a high callout charge going forward. Avoid. I'm not sure why Yelp is marking this review as 'value' and 'quality' that's nonsense; I said no for value and left quality blank because I have no idea if the blockage is completely clear yet. read more

I had an issue with a dryer, it wasn't drying things so great. I called and was able to get an appointment for the next day, which I was very happy with. They were up-front with their fees, which I agreed to. I was told I'd be given a 30 minute heads-up before the repairman came out. This was very good for me, as I was out-and-about during the afternoon. Unfortunately, I missed that phone call (one of those times when I could've sworn my phone was on loud but when I finally look at it, it's on vibrate). I called back and thankfully was able to keep the appointment. When I got back to the house, Eugene was polite and courteous, even though I was late. He inspected everything quickly and thoroughly, explained what was up, and was very professional. He measured the temperature of the drum, he checked the airflow, he made sure the cycles were all working, and he made sure that the drum was spinning. Turns out, the unit is in pretty good shape! It may be that I was using the wrong cycle (this isolation thing has my head all screwy). I am happy with the service I received and won't hesitate to use them again. read more

My refrigerator broke. I called Appliance 911. They came and then fixed it. A week later, the refrigerator broke again. They sent the same guy. He got it working. And then 4 days later it broke again. They then sent the same guy. He looked at it and did some stuff. He then told us it was fixed (even though it wasn't) and then quickly left. I called them again. Then they me that my refrigerator likely has severe damage... and I need to make another appointment with them. Appliance 911 is earnest but incompetent. My family went a month without a properly working refrigerator because of their continuous misdiagnoses. Even after a handful of visits, it's not clear if they understood the problem or that their job was to get the refrigerator working again. Edit- I'm perplexed that the owner denies servicing our refrigerator. I don't know if it's incompetence or intentional dishonesty. My wife spoke directly w/Tatyana. I'm looking right now at the invoices of hundreds of dollars that Appliance 911 charged us for our still broken refrigerator. Tatyana and Vladimir, you have made this serious cook very happy. After over a month of misery with another company and an oven that was supposedly non-functional, I called Appliance 911. Tatanya was amazing: professional, a clear communicator, and really interested in helping me. By the next morning, Vladimir was at our door, ready to tackle problems on an old FiveStar range. There are no bells and whistles on this appliance, but it is a workhorse that I hope to have for another 20 years. He worked carefully and systematically, examining and testing all aspects of operation. His findings were demonstrated to me, so that there was no confusion about what did and did not work, and he fully explained what parts would repair the range to its normal working condition. I will be writing to the Brown Stove Company who still make FiveStar ranges the way that they were made a generation ago, recommending that they make Appliance 911 an authorized service company. Lord knows, the one that was on their list is beyond incompetent. Oh, and by the way, the oven was working just fine all this time! read more

Update: It took 2 and 1/2 months to receive the fan that was specified by the error code ($82 delivered). Working alone, (and very slowly & carefully since I've never seen the back of an oven before) I was able to install and clean up in one hour and 15 mins. After posting my first review, the business called me within 3 hours to offer my money back for the diagnostic if I would remove my poor review. I declined because I want yelp to have some integrity. The business owner dispatched Eugene to take a look on the same day and let me know of the expected time range. Eugene called 30 minutes in advance to give me a heads up that he is on his way, and he arrived on time, took a thorough look, and ran test cycles on the dishwasher. After spending one hour investigating, we weren't able to get a certain answer of what's broken, but Eugene offered advice on the next steps. We weren't charged for the visit, to which I am very surprised and thankful given the amount of effort spent. So I'm here giving the business a positive review. Our washing machine malfunctioned and we called Appliance 911 on a Saturday morning. We left a message on their voicemail and they called us back quickly. The repairman came out that same day and assessed the problem fairly quickly (a broken water intake valve). He ordered the part and was able to install it only a short day later. It's been running beautifully for over a month now. The office staff was efficient and kept us informed throughout the process. Both staff & repairman were professional and courteous. At 10 o'clock this Sunday morning, I "Requested A Quote" from Appliance 911 for a leaking dishwasher. Two minutes later I got an email asking for my address and phone number. After giving that information I got a call explaining it would be a $75 fee or the service call which would be applied to any repair that I authorized. By 11 o'clock the tech arrived and after 15 minutes with some olive oil and a flashlight, he was able to diagnose the problem and propose a solution that I could easily handle. He explained the next step if this solution did not work, and said today's service call fee would be applied to that repair if necessary. We've run the dishwasher through three cycles and have no leaking. I had no expectation that we could get a tech out on a Sunday, certainly not without paying an "emergency" rate. They completely exceeded my expectations. This is a quality repair service and I would not hesitate recommending them. read more

6 stars! We have called Appliance 911 at least 4 times after the first time. The 16 yr old clothes washer control board finally died and after diagnosing the issue, the repairman showed me the parts book and said that the repair would cost a lot more than a new washer. They are *honest*. So we bought a new one, that cost half the price of what the repair would have been. Then our 14 yr old wine refrigerator wasn't cooling and they repaired it for a reasonable cost. Then the refrigerator in our rental home in Orinda was leaking and Appliance 911 fixed it. Each time, they respond within *minutes* and they came out within a day or the same day. But the best save was on 11/21/20. After calling our lame home warranty company on 10/26/20 (don't buy a home warranty plan; we are not renewing ours), they referred **another** appliance company to repair the oven in the Orinda rental home. It intermittently wasn't turning on. They came out 11/2 and the repairman said they had to return with a part. Long story short, after the 2nd visit two weeks later, the **OTHER** appliance company caused the oven to short the breaker, the microwave made the oven make popping noises, and the oven was heating even when turned off. I called the LAME company Friday 11/20 and they "couldn't" come out till 11/25, day before Thanksgiving because they have only one person who covers the entire East Bay. I called APPLIANCE 911 on Sat 11/21 and Tatyana consulted with a technician and warned me that this repair would probably be very expensive and to look into buying a new oven. The oven is a gas oven and the only residential gas ovens available these days cost $2500-4000 from specialty companies . I called Tatyana back (keep in mind **this is on the SATURDAY before Thanksgiving**) and she got Vlad out there in one hour and he repaired the oven for $462 - fixed all those electrical control issues. That's including the baseline diagnosis fee!!! APPLIANCE 911 SAVED OUR TENANTS' THANKSGIVING!! I waited a couple days to make sure the oven is working and it is. AND parts and labor are have a 90 day warranty. Do NOT hesitate to call APPLIANCE 911!!! read more

These guys are the best! Incredibly professional and timely. We had a refrigerator with an annoying hum. Called Appliance 911 and got an in home appointment with a 2 hour window the next morning. Vlad came out at the beginning of the window and diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. He pulled out a "Kelly Blue Book" type book for costs of appliance parts and costs for installation. He showed me how much it was for both and we ordered the part. I checked the price online later and he was right in line. Vlad replaced the part and even cleaned and repacked the freezer. Unfortunately we had a small issue a few days later but Vlad came out the next morning and fixed everything for free. 1 month later the refrigerator works better than ever. read more

Filled out a form on Yelp, got a response from the owner in less than five minutes asking where my location was, made the appointment and had a technician here in less than twenty five minutes. Technician looked at several things that could wrong, fixed and tested a hose issue to the dishwasher and helped me understand how everything worked, how to diagnose different common issues, and have me pointers on how to avoid future issues. My condo that I bought has a beautiful custom kitchen with fancy pants appliances. Well I don't cook a lot so using the range for the first time in a while, I noticed the exhaust fan/overhead light wasn't working. Not usually a big deal since I don't cook that often but had a plan to cook another meal this week so thought it might be better to get it fixed. So I turned to yelp and found these guys. I must say they were very responsive and were super helpful in squeezing me in during the narrow time frames I was available. The tech was prompt and friendly. Turns out that it was a customization I was unfamiliar with and nothing was actually broken. So thankfully nothing needed to be repaired. But he was able to figure out how it worked. It only took him about 10-15 mins. I still was out the full service charge of $89 but I understand that's the cost of doing business.
