Our Whirlpool washing machine broke down. I managed through some YouTube videos to press some buttons and get an error code. I called a guy who'd fixed our dryer once. When our washer broke, it was so old it just wasn't worth repairing. I'm so glad we found Antone's Appliance instead of heading straight for one of the big box stores. Antone is a busy guy and that's the kind of business you'd want to support because clearly he's doing a great job to have as many customers as he does! After leaving a few frantic voicemails for him, he was able to return my call. The first thing he did was apologize for how busy he was. During the entire call he was extremely polite, patient, and understanding. I explained to him the issue I was having with my washer and he was able to diagnose the issue over the phone. After some searching, he gave me a rough price of the parts plus labor and then we discussed whether or not we should move forward. As I recently purchased the property and inherited the appliances within it, Antone explained to me how he's been there 3 times in the past already to service both the washer and dryer. At that point, with the money the previous owner already invested into repairs, it was clear my appliances were on their last legs and it would be a better investment to purchase brand new. Once again, wonderful Robert saved the day by replacing a Maytag washer part. He is very professional, polite and non-judgemental. The ring around the front inside of the Maytag washer harbored mildew from residual moisture and its closed front loading door. No amount of scrubbing got rid of it. Robert says all front loaders need to be put on the "cleaning cycle" with the proper powder or tablets (need more than you think) once a month. Who knew? It is hard to find a reputable and trustworthy appliance repair person these days. Many of those on the web are complete scams and often try to pretend they are factory authorized when they are not. Robert Antone has been providing us with equipment and service for over 20 years and I always can trust what he tells us. He does not upsell or tell you that a repair is needed if it is not. I called one of their competitors based on Yelp reviews, but they were too busy to help us. But they referred us to Antone's. Robert from Antone's came over a couple of days later to fix our 35 year old Maytag washer. My suspicion that debris from the old shag bath rug that the cat sleeps on clogged up the washer turned out to be correct. Robert fixed it in a hurry. I had earlier noticed on You Tube how to do this, but I was happy to have a trained professional diagnose and fix the problem instead of me trying to screw it all up based on a You Tube video. Not only did Robert quickly fix the clog, he even re-adjusted the folding laundry closet door and put in a new washer pulley belt and new vent hose for my dryer. My washer hasn't been spinning the clothes dry and leaving a puddle at the bottom of the washer so I decided to give Antone's Appliance a call. They've been coming to our place for repairs on my washer or dryer for years since 1998! Robert is very thorough and honest. Unfortunately, even though he tried to replace a part and see if he could get the washer spinning, it didn't work and so he told me that it was time to get a new washer because even if we replaced other parts of the washer, it would be rather expensive. So I looked online for new washers while he was finishing up and found out that they also sell Maytag washers and Robert has gone high tech and checked online on his tablet that they had the machine I was interested in stock. He quoted me a price which included delivery, installation as well as removing the old machine. A couple of things to note: - Antone's is busy and you probably have to wait 5 or more business days to get an appointment. If you have an urgent repair, you are better off calling someone who may charge more but can come sooner. - Also, Robert's elderly mother answers his calls and schedules his appointments, and she can be difficult. That said, Robert himself is incredibly knowledgeable about appliances, conscientious and very pleasant. You can tell he genuinely is interested in what he does and always seems to be thinking about how to improve things. If you don't have an urgent repair, it's well worth waiting to book him for your appliance repairs. read more

The touchpad on my KitchenAid dishwasher fried, and I started making the usual calls, including one to KitchenAid. (They in turn referred me to a couple of stiffs, but that's another story.) One of the calls went to Robert at Antone's. My luck. Exactly the right guy. Could he repair the KitchenAid? No; the touchpad is no longer available anywhere. Could he replace the dishwasher? Yes. He had a Maytag in stock. Was his price for the installation comparable to the big box stores? Yes, and he would remove and recycle the old dishwasher as part of the deal. Could he come by in three days? Yes. Then he did exactly what he said he would do. Taciturn, soft-spoken, honorable, direct, efficient. A throwback. A straightforward craftsman. If he read this, he would probably dismiss it or change the subject. But from a customer's perspective, he is precisely the right guy for the job. read more

Washer is electric Sears model and was leaking out of front bottom. Robert replaced the washer's pump for $36 part, plus $115 site visit. He also replaced vent for my ancient gas GE Hotpoint dryer when he noticed vent tubing had separated. Robert was on time, called in advance and charged me the previously quoted $115 service fee, plus parts. He was professional and communicated well during the visit; he also helped me clean the floor behind both machines after he moved them for repair. Wow! Terrible phone service! I called to inquire about a washer/dryer purchase. I provided the lady with the model number & she said she would call me right back with a price. After not hearing back for a couple of hours I called back & she said she would have to talk to someone & get back to me but she didnt know when that would be. She was incredibly rude & asked if I was a long time customer because she didnt have time to deal with my questions. I responded that I hadent been & probably would not be given her rude tone with me. She said, well, I'm sorry but I'm busy & goodbye.
