Expensive Service, Poor Workmanship, and No Accountability !! I initially contacted this company to fix a non-responsive touch panel on my stovetop. A technician came out, inspected the issue, and repositioned the touch panel, which apparently had not been properly aligned with the buttons. I was charged $240 for the service. Unfortunately, the exact same issue has resurfaced about a year later. When I contacted the company, I was told that their workmanship is covered by only a 3-month warranty. Instead of taking responsibility for what appears to be the same problem returning, customer service wants to charge me another $240 to fix it. At this point, I have to question the value of the service. Paying $240 to have the same issue reappear within a year, only to be asked to pay the same amount again, is extremely frustrating. For that kind of money, I might as well start considering replacing the entire stove/oven. This is one of the more expensive appliance repair companies I've dealt with, but expensive does not always mean quality. I expected better workmanship and, more importantly, better customer service when the same issue returned. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. read more

Highly recommend Zuta Appliance Repair!!! Mergen came out to diagnose and repair my 13 year old fridge - I can't say enough good things about the service I received from him! About a month ago, I had an ice dam in my fridge's freezer drawer, which I cleared on my own because I thought that perhaps the freezer hadn't been closed properly which can cause this to happen. Fast forward one month, on a Wednesday morning I reach into the main fridge compartment and realize it's not cold. Same problem - there's an ice dam in the lower freezer drawer. Now I realize this is a problem for the professionals. I call the appliance repair folks I've used in the past and they can give me an appointment for two days later (Friday) for a diagnosis; then it will be sometime the following week when they'll return with the parts to fix the problem, presuming it's fixable. I feel a bit panicky and trapped with the problem, but I take the appointment. After drinking my coffee my brain comes to life and I start searching Yelp for appliance repair companies with lots of good reviews and I came across Zuta. I also looked at the unhappy reviews and I liked how Zuta responded to these reviewers as well, so I gave them a call. At first I wasn't sure it was going to work out, but then I scored an appointment for 1-3pm the same day - yay! At about noon, Mergen texted me and he said he'd be at my place in 25 mins - now he was running early - that's even better!! He arrived when he said he would and presented himself in a very professional manner. I told him my story and he said it was likely one of three things and in about 15 minutes he'd narrowed in down to the control board. So gave me an estimate on the total repair and parts, then he asked if I'd like to be able to use my fridge while we waited for the parts to arrive, likely the following week. Of course I said YES. So he took the back of the freezer compartment off and we could see the completely frozen coils, which he set about defrosting with a steaming tool. It took at least 30 mins to melt all of that ice and he was so patient the entire time. The drip pan overflowed, so he pulled out the fridge, took off a back panel, and siphoned the water out of it, and then together we mopped up the floor. The icemaker wasn't functioning anymore either, so he added that part to the order as well for less than the one I was planning to buy elsewhere. When he left, I had a functioning fridge and was able to go out for the evening without any worry about the fridge and my food. He said it would last until the parts came in. Only two days later, on Friday, he texted me and said he could come by to complete the repairs. We agreed on a time to meet and he was there! In less than 30 minutes, he'd install the control board and the new ice maker, and the freezer and fridge compartments started to get cold. He showed my how my ice maker also had water in the tray. He said he'd text later to check how things were progressing and he left. About 10-15 minutes later, he was back at my door because he wanted to ensure he'd correctly programmed the control board (it's a universal part) and he showed me what he was doing, verified it was correct and left again. At about 7:30, Mergen texted me and asked if the ice maker was making ice and it was. In fact, it's been making about a load an hour ever since! And the fridge ran continuously for about 24 hours, then settled into it's normal rhythm - which it hadn't had for a very long, long time. So, I was never without a fridge and didn't lose any food and my fridge was permanently back in business in two days, which it would not have been if I'd gone with my old repair place. Fingers crossed I won't, but should I need appliance repair in the future I know who I'm calling! read more

We appreciated his recommendation to hold off on the dryer since the cost of replacing the part wasn't going to make much difference in its performance. Correspondence was great in that the service technician contacted me and arrived early. Both assessments resulted in potential solutions to correct the problems but nothing definitive. The proposed costs either equaled or exceeded the price for new appliances. The technician overall was friendly and informative but I couldn't believe that I was being charged $85 for the dishwasher and $139 for the washing machine and no actual repairs being done. Our Bosch dishwasher suddenly went "silent" after 4+years of flawless performance this past weekend and after consulting with my new best friend, "Gemini A.I.", they actually recommended that repair for this specific brand was the way to go, and believe it or not, Zuta was at the "TOP OF THEIR LIST" as a local shop to contact...!!! I almost didn't, for the dumbest reason....Dishwasher Repair is NOT listed under Services on their website....??? ("might want to get that fixed, Zuta"...!!!) Lucky for me, I did and all I can say is "the rest is history". Made an appointment yesterday with Peggy for "1st available" which was this morning. He showed up when he said he would and communicated with me throughout. I am currently renting out my house and not residing there, so good communication was particularly important. He quickly diagnosed and repaired the dryer. The dishwasher was more complex. Again, he communicated with me on a regular basis. When it looked like the repairs would be expensive, he walked through the options with me and showed that a replacement would likely be the better choice, even though he would have made money off the repair. In the end, I did choose to replace it and Bo didn't charge me for the time he spent working on the dishwasher. I would definitely use Zuta again. We called them for an issue with our GE dishwasher water leak. The technician came in, but he wasn't able to figure out the reason. Said it was due to how we place the dishes. The water leak kept happening, so I followed up with them and they said they would need a part that was out of stock. I kept following up over a few month but they kept saying part is out of stock. I finally decided to call GE's official partner and they were able to fix issue within 30 minutes. The fix didn't require any extra part (it was just that some internal screws were loose).
