We just got home from our trip and I was going to use our central vacuum hose and whop, no suction came out of the hose and nothing came out of the outlets. Hubby checked for a short circuit but there was nothing and he went to our basement to look at the container and reset the container, but just a little vroom and then nothing. So I called up Anna at Dublin Central Vacuum and I described the problem and she immediately knew what was wrong and gave me an estimate on the cost of replacing the motor plus the service call charge vs buying a whole new central vacuum. Anna was able to schedule an appointment for me the very next day and Jason came out promptly and replaced the motor and voila, back in business again! I'm writing this review on a Saturday while watching Lance install my central vac. He normally doesn't work on Saturdays but the owner Anna, asked him as a favor, because I wanted to be around to show him where I wanted the inlets. Not only was he willing to work on a Saturday for my installation, he was willing to drive an hour and a half just to get to my location. Pretty rare to see work ethic and attitudes like that these days. He works fast and is meticulous. When he talks about routing his pipes, you can tell that this is somebody who's proud of his workmanship. We are getting a Hide-A-Hose system, and he brought up design ideas that would minimize how hard we would have to pull, when getting the hose out. He was concerned about excessive friction if it was done incorrectly. It's a pleasure to see people who love to work, and take pride in their craft. Our 30+ year old central vac system finally got plugged up beyond my DIY capabilities. I called DCV on Friday and was able to schedule an appointment for the following Monday. I was told that there would be a premium based on the distance traveled (48 mi). Jason arrived at the agreed upon time and helped us (seniors) clear the way to the crawl space access door. He replaced the badly plugged tubing then helped us move everything back to the storage. The service was prompt, their van had all of the necessary parts and they cleaned up the work area when finished, and there were no surprise upcharges. There are not very many central vacuum system service providers so we were very pleased to get a technician so quickly and at a reasonable price. read more

I have a very big house and the central vacuum system is in the garage. Something got sucked into the vacuum in the game room above the other garage. These two rooms are 150 feet apart across bridges and through breezeways. Justin located and extracted a towel (!) in minutes. He then used the rest of his time to test all the hose connections, service / clean my garage system and even replace bearings and clean the cyclone head at the end of the hose. I have a golden retriever. As many of you know Goldens only shed twice a year... 1. the first half of the year and 2. the second half... har, har, har... lame, lame joke... forgive me, please. Anyhow, we have a commercial Oreck XL to vacuum up his fur, and boy has it had to work hard these past two years. My mother-in-law suggested I take our vacuum to Dublin Vacuums to be serviced, because she's been taking her's there for years and thinks the world of their work. So, I put it on my ever growing to-do list and finally got it to-done! I'm so glad I did. For a little less than $50 our vacuum is good as gold, and "SUCKS" like it's new. Totally worth the money. The guy who works there explained to me that during the service they take apart and clean the motor, clean up everything else, replace any parts that need to be replaced etc. Also, when I picked up the vacuum two days later he handed over a 90-day warranty on their work, which I thought was really cool. I highly recommend that you, yes YOU, take your vacuum to Dublin Vacuum once a year or every couple of years. I'm pretty sure it'll help our vacuum's work better and last longer. read more

I originally got an estimate over the phone from Anna, to my surprise, the cost is pretty reasonable to retrofit a central vacuum system into an existing structure. Dan, the owner came out and reconfirmed the cost which was very close to the estimate. The job took a crew of 3 men and one day to complete without a hitch. We have a hide a hose central vacuum system that the builder put into our new house about 5 years ago. One of the plastic connectors broke and made the hose retract into the wall and we couldn't get it back out. Dan came out and was able to resolve the issue quickly. He uses some tools to fish the hose out and also replaced the connector. Seems to know his stuff for all things re: central vacuums. Would recommend and use again. read more

This was a repair call for our central vacuum. He had the knowledge and tools to get it fixed quickly the first time. But, I thought their flat rate charge of $155 for a service call was excessive. Especially since he only spent 15 minutes at our house. I might try someone else for the simple repair calls next time. We had Dan install a Hide-A-Hose in our house. This actually makes vacuuming something to look forward to and enjoy! I no longer have to store or carrying around my central vacuum hose. My first Yelp review (and the only reason why I just created a Yelp account) goes to this great system and company! Most used items in my house! I have the Hide-a-Hose, Sweet-Vac and the new garage Retract-Vac system (awesome for cleaning garage floors and vacuuming out my truck in the driveway). At first I was thinking it was not necessary because my house is all hard-wood floors, but I quickly learned that was just an excuse not to pull the trigger. We bought a 1955 fixer-upper and the install only took 4 hours. With our dogs and a large yard, the dirt and hair is nonstop. I also have very bad allergies and since the Central Vacuum systems, the air quality in my home have stopped my need to take a allergy pill literally every day. The products have also had Zero Issues! And I have had them for over a month so far. The service and installation has been more than I ever imagined, especially in this day and age where service seems to be lacking in every other area... Needless to say, I am very impressed and eager to share the good news with those considering Dublin Central Vacuum in the future. No matter what size house, type of floors or lifestyle, you honestly cannot argue with the practicality and the reliability. Every home, apartment and firehouse should have one. I highly recommend Dublin Central Vacuum and would recommend calling them first when getting estimates. I did get another estimate and DCV was the best. We have an existing central vacuum and the work completed including adding several new outlets to our home addition, relocating several outlets which were damaged, and replacing several outlet covers to match our existing hose. The work they provided was excellent and they cleanup any mess that was made. They ended up fixing some prior work which was not done correctly and repairing a damaged pipe which was not known about. They stuck with their original price even though some issues arose which were unforeseen. read more

Lance came out to fix it. Lance has a friendly positive attitude and btw he is smart. I could tell this was not his first service call. He knew how to find the clog and fixed it. He used a multi step diagnostic process that led him to the problem...One Hot Wheel car and one pen plugging up the pipes in different locations. He then double checked the repair by checking each vacuum port in the house. I have an older house and was afraid I was stuck with the old bag vacuum unless I tore out walls. Dan came over and let me know how easy and painless it would be to put in a central vacuum system. Not only did they not tear out walls they put it in a convenient place so I could reach multiple rooms. I also have kitchen unit that I can just sweep the dirt right into. They were in and out and the guys are so professional and helpful. We had a central vacuum system installed when we built our house 16 years ago. It had a single prong outlet connection (which is not made anymore) and the hose and connectors were failing. I attempted to retrofit it myself and, predictably, fried the electronics. Anna said that I could replace the circuit board. She didn't push me into it, but I decided to replace the whole power unit. These guys are good. They meet all three of my criteria: (1) Answer the phone and seem to know what they're talking about. (2) Show up when they say they will. Call when they're on the way and give you an ETA. (3) Do the job quickly and efficiently within the budget. I presented Dan with a box of parts from my aborted do-it-yourself project as they were leaving and he called up later offering to adjust my bill. I declined his offer, but that's how honest these guys are. Incidentally, I told Dan that the person who answers their phone, Anna, seemed to be really knowledgeable. It turns out that she's his wife. As for my new vacuum system, I have to say that it really sucks! read more

Good products, great service. I bought a Vacuflo central vac system for my 2-story home in 2001. The installation went quickly and smoothly. It has held up well, but was losing suction recently. Dan came out for a service call and found a broken pipe in the attic and fixed it. Although the system is working better, it's still not 100%. So rather than saying "good enough", he is going to come back with another technician who can get into the tight spaces and make sure it's completely fixed. Great customer service! read more
