Over the many years, APD seems to always have the part I need. AC capacitor, fridge defroster, dryer resistor (although they recommended I just replace the unit) and now washing machine thermistor. If you are a handy person, this place is probably already on your radar. If not, make a note for yourself. Advice is also helpful and insightful. Thank you! read more

We started hearing extra tumbling noises and seeing our dryer shift when running. We weren't sure if it was time to get a new dryer or to repair it, but since we repaired our dryer once by ourselves, we thought we'd searched online for the issue and try to find the parts at Home Depot for repair. They didn't carry what we need but referred us to APD Appliance Parts Distributor. When I dropped by, I was really impressed by Jim, who when I showed him a video of our dryer and the model number, he was completely familiar with our dryer model, and knew what was wrong. He found the kit we need with all the pieces we need to repair and priced very reasonably. He also told me exactly where I can find more info for how to repair, and was super patient to explain all the details until I felt comfortable. Because we were also experiencing another issue with the dryer needing several cycles to dry (even after servicing our dryer with a dryer vent cleaner company), he also explained how to clean the lint from inside the machine. We took this weekend to repair the dryer and it is now working. We are super grateful for the help from Jim and would not hesitate to recommend this store! read more

Friendly staff over the phone and they stock the right part. Can't ask for any more than that!

Friendly staff and reasonable issue resolution... I bought a microwave handle support. Part broke 3.5 months after install. Initial response from store was "Sorry out of warranty". Me: "It's been 3.5 months, what's the warranty?". Answer: "3 months, sorry". Me: "Who can I talk to who might be able to apply some common sense to this case?" I was escalated to regional office where Brandon kindly and quickly authorized a warranty replacement. read more

I called over the phone to order a refrigerator for a rental unit I own. Gil answered the phone and asked me pertinent questions about the existing refrigerator. He found what I needed and set up the delivery. Gil was helpful and pleasant to work with. Roy arrived two days later to deliver the refrigerator. He was efficient and quick. The apartment is located upstairs and Roy quickly and carefully got the refrigerator in place and the old one taken out. Roy also was pleasant to work with. Great job, APD! I will be referring you to others! read more

The staff at APD are awesome. Sam, Grant, Joe, all of them are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to parts & new appliances. People spend a lot of wasted time going to Home Depot and Lowe's and get terrible service as the employees there typically have no clue what they're talking about when it comes to appliances and parts. This is also the store to go to for parts as they have access to those items way more than anyone else. They will also deliver your appliances you buy as well. Choose APD for your appliance parts needs. read more

Lacking customer service in your life? You can find it here. Been here twice & been very happy with the level of customer service & knowledge I received. Gil help me today & I felt compelled to leave a positive feedback, thank you again. read more

They were extremely helpful. I was able to make my purchase of item needed. When I returned home, I was able to purchase same product for $6 for six units. Appliance parts was $30 for single unit. But they were so kind and helpful it was worth it! read more

Great experience with these guys. Our microwave was possessed...it kept running even when the door was open. After much googling, we figured out one of the door switches was bad. By the time we discharged the capacitor and removed the part, we had been microwave-less for over a week! Instead of ordering a switch on-line, I was able to get one here for just a few dollars more. Well worth it! The guy at the desk was very helpful, showing me what was wrong with the part, and gave me some tips for re-installing it. He also didn't laugh too hard when I asked about the "mandatory" RF testing for loose microwaves that the internet suggested. :) I replaced the door switch, put the cover back on, and the microwave worked perfectly. So easy and saved me $200. Highly recommended to call these guys. Do-it-yourself and save some money! read more

Needed a chop assembly for my dishwasher. I had someone come in and repair it twice now. (obviously an issue with the kitchen aid dishwasher) I paid the guy $250 each time. I decided this time I was going to tackle it. Happy to say Gil at Appliance Parts Distributors walked me through it. I had no part number but we conversed about it and walah I now have the part I need to fix it. Really appreciate local businesses that are willing to help. read more

I came into the store today looking for a replacement piece on a house fan. Unable to find a new one at a reasonable cost, they searched through some old boxes and found a used part that did the job...and gave it to me gratis. Now that's great customer service! I'll be back next time as a paying customer! read more

They are very knowledgeable about Appliances and the parts. They have helped me out several times with Air Conditioning and refrigeration and our old Washing machine. They've got a big inventory and usually have what I need in stock. I wouldn't do business with anyone else. read more

Went to get a capacitor during the heat wave. APD is the only place in town, so the line was long. All the way into the parking lot. All of us in line were laughing and showing off our blown capacitors. After getting through the doors it was amusing watching the two counter guy answer the same questions with every customer. They handled it better than I ever could. Very knowledgeable group of guys. Parts cost a premium but excessive, so grateful to have a store like this Semi-locally. read more

Always great service and knowledgeable personnel, most of the time they have the part. My go to place before I special order anywhere else for Next day part. I bought my Overload and Start Relay for my GE compressor and good price like online. read more

I have been coming here for over 20 years. Great value and they know appliances well! They frequently confirm what I think the problem is and when we disagree, they are right! I always take their advice when they offer it! Great place! read more

As many of us during any heat wave may experience with the ac unit, looking for a part/capacitor may come up during suboptimal timing is inevitable. With some YouTube help and Gil(?), we were able to find a matching part to try. Gil was professional and patient on the phone. The same in person and also checked our old capacitor part as well to confirm which portion was out. I would 100% endorse supporting these guys. Gil patiently answered our basic questions, how the new circular model should match up compared to our original oval top capacitor. Heck, for $30-60, it might be worth buying a backup for your ac unit in anticipation of any breakdown as one YouTube video suggests (but who views those videos until it's already too late ;) Support these guys and have a summer ac preparedness packet ready for any unexpected blow out so you don't have to go a night or more during 110+(?!) temps! (Like we did- remember after hours and even repair folks may be swamped!) read more

I have used the services of APD on numerous occasions. In spite of them being in the business of selling appliance parts, I say 'services' because in addition to providing parts, they have consistently offered advice on how to troubleshoot the problem and offer their opinion on what the fix entails. So far with me they are batting 1.000 and I have relied on them at least a half dozen times. So if you are a do-it-yourselfer give these guys a try the next time you need to get a home appliance repaired. You might save yourself a bunch of $$$ and discover that many home appliances are not that complicated. read more

These guys are the BEST ! You call them up, desperate for a part to fix a frig, oven, dishwasher, etc and they care enough to ask you the right questions, they know their parts and their inventory in an instant, no BS, no waiting for a week or more for shipment only to find out it's the wrong part, these guys are on the ball and know their stuff. They've always given me friendly efficient service and the prices are good. I would suggest taking the broken part for comparison. I picked up an inlet valve /switch (?) for a dishwasher today and they had the perfect exact part. Very impressive. I'm not a professional, just a guy who likes to save money by DIY and they are always ready to offer tips and advice. read more

Discovered this place three years ago when my French door fridge was acting up. And I gotta say the customer service is excellent. These guys are local knowledgeable veterans and are great at helping to troubleshoot an issue with your appliance. Plus, they love what they do and can get my parts delivered overnight so I can get to work on my appliances. So far, I've been able to troubleshoot and repair my cooktop, fridge and dishwasher. Thanks guys! You rock! read more

Overpriced items & rude sales folks! Three times the price you get online (not comparing with amazon but with HomeDepot.com) . Needed to replace a part right away so decided to buy locally. They didn't have the matching part - they sold me one with different ratings saying they are all compatible. It didn't work - they wouldn't return the part saying that's their policy! Will not shop here again! read more

Very Poor Customer Service!! I went into this fine facility meeting a handle for a dryer. The fellow at the counter acted like I was bothering him made me feel like an idiot because I didn't have the one piece of information you needed although I brought in all the information off the dryer. So at this point I still need a part but do not want to go back into this place. So I'm trying to find the right part on the internet and or another parts supply place within the bay area that I can take my business to. Unless you're someone in the business I would steer clear from this place. They're clearly only about helping contractors read more

My 11-year-old washing machine began to make an extremely loud and expensive sounding noise in the spin cycle. While my husband took a look at it, I began the process of researching new washers online. I videoed the machine and he took it to Apd. The salesperson was very helpful. He watched the video and said he had the same noise in his machine. He suggested changing the belt and also told us to oil the machine well before closing it back up. We did exactly as he suggested and for $18, it is fixed. No more noise - and we've washed 4 loads in a row. He saved us a lot of time and expense of what I thought for sure was going to have to be a new machine. These guys really know their business. Thank you! read more

Very expensive... I found the same dryer kit at the Sears website for $35 when they sell the pieces I need for more than double. The counter guys are not friendly. If you don't care about price and service then go there. read more

Came in to pick appliance parts and I immediately notice one of the employees blatantly not wearing his mask and casually speaking to customers. If youre going to have signs at the door and at the register desk saying its a local mandate to have a mask on in businesses then you should practice what you preach. Not to mention youre risking transmitting covid to others in a time where hundreds of thousands have died due to this disease. We're living in a pandemic. Do your part. Wear a fucking mask read more

The guys that work the parts counter are amazing! They helped me trouble shoot why my washing machine stopped working and helped me fix it myself, not once but twice years ago! Now my gas dryer stopped heating and they told me there was 3 possibilities what part needed to be replaced. They told me to bring in the parts and they would test each part to see which part needed to be replaced! Well it turned out to be a $12 part! Thanks APD, if any body ever asks me where to get appliance parts I'll make sure I'll give them your number and location! Thanks again guys for your being so nice and helpful! read more

My Kenmore Elite dryer had an issue heating ... did all the YourTube videos ...showed up at Appliance Parts thinking I needed this one part ... the folks there (think it was Gil) patiently listened to me describe the problem ... suggested that I would need an entirely different part ... exactly how to change it out. One additional star for variety- range of parts they carry . They lost out on more stars because of "grumpy" rude sales folks. How hard is it to be normal and not be rude !
