Don't waste your time here, if I could give them a zero I would. I wanted to support a local business however, their customer service is horrible. I ordered the food for pick up, and when I got there the lady in the front said I hadn't placed an order, however I received the confirmation. Furthermore, the guy behind her told her that my order had been placed so, she said she probably forget to check the order. To top it all of I had to wait almost two hours for them to make the food, just for me to realize that the order wasn't complete, and had to wait another 20 minutes for the rude lady to tell me that it was complete, when they did not due their due diligence, to make sure everything was there. read more

I came here while serving on a jury at Van Nuys Courthouse and was served to-die-for, last-meal rotisserie chicken. It was perfectly cooked and had deep flavor from an incredible marinade and the huge woodfire oven sitting in the corner of the small dining area. The fried yuca and plantain sides were perfect and the salsas/sauces were great as well. If my experience was consistent with their day to day quality, I can't recommend this place enough. I took a friend of my and he asked for a Lomo Saltado Burrito, it came only with two pieces of meat, we call the waiter (Gregorio) and ask him how come is only two pieces of meat and his answer was its only four ounces of rib eye in the burrito $10.00 dollars for a 6 inches of burrito with rice, almost no beans and two pieces of meat. IT WAS A TOTAL RIP OFF. I asked for a Pollo a la Brasa it was bad the plate came with water in the bottom and looked like they reheat the Pollo in the microwave. Went to dinner last night with my kids and everything was so good! We had the lomo saltado, beef arrroz chaufa, pollo al a brasa. The lomo and chaufa were the stand out dishes. The chicken was good and very tender and juicy. For dessert we had the cheesecake which is very light and fluffy and the this sponge cake roll which was fantastic! The service was great and friendly. A little pricey but well worth it due to portion size and quality. Will be going back! read more

We were there last night around 8:00 with my family when we got there tables were dirty and it's dishes and when we left they were still dirty. Maybe it was too much for the guy that was there alone. We order our food which was the chicken with rice and fries. The rice we got served seem to be the last in the pot just warmed with the burnt part from the bottom. The chicken was cold and hard. The ají sauces were all watered down.really gross and heart breaking that now that they have expanded the business the quality of food is horrible. I'm thinking now it's quantity not quality. This is the second time this happens. We have been coming here for about 15 years. The owner she has always been very attentive and nice, and the staff as well. Unfortunately We won't be coming back. One of my best friends and I were walking along Van Nuys Blvd looking for a place to eat. We saw this tiny hole in the wall Peruvian restaurant. They just opened, and thought we'd give it a try.. The atmosphere is a very plain [clean] decor... but as we found out very quickly, they put the money into the quality of food and not the decor. Hands Down! The BEST mouth watering chicken I've ever had in my life. Apparently they brine the chicken before they BBQ it with all the incredible spices on the outside. I'm not one for eating chicken skin........ but this has to be devoured in it's entirety. The BEST beans I've ever had in my life. They have several mouth watering sauces to choose from, usually served with the meal so you don't even have to ask. We usually order the "whole" chopped chicken, with the sides of beans and rice. Oh, can't forget about the friend bananas! Those are a must!!! Amazing food, we have been back there many times, even with other people, and everything they make on the menu is simply delicious. This was just a waste of money! I had that craving earlier for rotisserie chicken, and even though I usually go to Lola's on victory and kester (their chicken is always on point, cooked with real wood flame, large portions, and most importantly always fresh!) i decided to give Takatis a try since it has such high reviews, yelp steered me wrong again! I ordered 1/2 chicken w 2sides and coke only to find out it cost over $20! That's pretty steep for Peruvian rotisserie but I would've still not mind if the food was good since I was craving it. It was horrible, 1/2 chicken was so small it looked more like quail ,fries and salad next to it, also small portions. It was such small portions that it only filled the middle circle of the to go box. I mean if you gonna give small as portions it would be a smart idea to buy smaller to go boxes, at least that way you give it the perception that your getting more food. I also asked the guy If they had put the Peruvian mayo sauce inside since it's my favorite on the fries, he said yes; but when I got home all I seen was green, yellow, and orange sauce. The green is standard spicy sauce that I like , but the other two were alright nothing special. But no mayo! And what really made me give this one star is the fact that my chicken was not fresh at all!! It was rewarmed in an oven, that's a no no in real Peruvian rotisserie experience! It's hard to keep chicken fresh when it comes out the rotisserie, the longer it sits in the Warmer the chicken begins to dry out. Therefore, that's the problem that some Peruvian restaurants face when they don't have that steady clientele. Some restaurants will even reuse the chicken from days ago since they sit on it for so long until they get an order, which is what I got today! Yuck! How I know you ask? Each piece of chicken that I got had foiled still wrapped around it, like it was rewarmed in an oven. Making the meat dry inside and skin all soggy! The opposite of what your looking for in authentic Peruvian rotisserie!! Never ever coming back, learned my lesson, going to Lola's from now on where I know their chicken is always fresh and way bigger! Don't be fooled by the other reviews! I was craving Marios Peruvian food but I was hungry and did not want to wait over an hour just to be seated. I found this place on yelp and came here instead. I ordered a Lomo Saltado and a passion drink. The lomo was delicious but their green sauce lacked some spiciness. But other than that it was all cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and the potatoes were crispy. The place is pretty small and their specialty is wood fired chicken. I wish I would have tried it but next time I will make sure to order chicken. Inside it was really hot due to the the wood fired oven I really wish they turned the AC up. This place is a good as it gets! I'm 1/2 Peruvian, 1/2 Russian. Peruvain food definately is better than Russian. With tht said, you MUST try this place! It's our new yummy Peruvain place around the corner. ok not so around the corner, but the closest around. We go to NAZCA too, but this place is a couple notches better. My Mom had the tamal, and she said it was amazing, very authenic! Now if a 75 year old puro Peruana is saying that, then you know it's place worth eating at. Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. The woman working is extremely rude and always has an attitude. Was ignored for about 5 minutes, no greeting or hello. But when a group of Hispanic decent enters, she greets and seats them immediately! The woman has an unnecessarily rude and defensive attitude.. Warning: Do not come here with a Groupon. This place is getting 1 star due to terrible customer service and very small serving sizes. The prices are average to other Peruvian restaurants. But the amount of food you get is very small. I ordered a burrito to go they tell me 20 minutes till it's ready. I get there in 21 minuets only to wait an additional 15 minuets for my food with no one else in the restaurant. I would only suggest ordering the Salato burrito. It's the only thing on the menu would the price be prepared to wait. Been here several times. Everything is good! Great value for your money. The signature is their wood fired rotisserie chicken which is excellent. I've also had their Lomo Saltado burrito, which is a great new twist on a classic peruvian favorite. 3 amazing table sauces worth trying and the plantains and yuca fries are also very good. There's 2 homemade fruit drinks that are very tasty as well. This place is extremely clean and the staff is super friendly. I will be going back often! read more
