My Breakfast taco spot. Nice little spot in Fiestas parking lot. This is my 3rd time being here. Always a pleasant staff. Large amount of them so everyone is attended to as soon as they arrive. The flan is to die for. Tacos: Barbacoa-best, beef Fajita-secnd best, chicken-pretty good, Pork very flavorful. Breakfast tacos: eggs&chorizo:best, egg&potato, eggs bacon, egg&ham were all pretty good too. The flour tortilla is very fresh and has a homemade taste. That's what does it for me. They take a little long for Togo orders so it's best to call ahead and just pick it up but if you are dining in then it's perfect. read more

I have a Sunday tradition. My sons and I go to Church and then right after that on our way hoe we stop by La Bala for some lunch. Its a totally unassuming "hole in the wall" type of place. But everyone is super friendly and the food is authentic and wonderful. Really can't complain about much. Its very reasonably priced and the decor and setup reflects that. Simply delicious. The food is very fresh and tasty. I would recommend it. What I usually get is the torta or burrito with beef fajita. If you are into spicy definitely try the green sauce I always ask for extra. The only gripe that I have is that when my friends order over the phone it's hard to understand their English other than that really good place. read more

I ordered fajita tacos, torta, quesadillas, and gorditas. My daughter got the tongue tacos. Overall it was okay. The fajita meat was tough and dry. But it was cheap. I can't speak for the tacos del trompo, which is supposed to be their specialty, because I don't eat pork. Maybe I would come again if I was strapped for cash and wanted cheap lunch. read more

Came here and ordered a shrimp burrito. Took two bites from it and got a bone in my mouth. Not sure why there was a bone when it's shrimp. I told the lady I didn't like my food and returned it then the lady comes back to give me a bill even though I didn't eat my food. I said you're having me pay for my food I didn't eat? She said yes, then she said she will charge me half. I said even though I didn't eat the food and she said she couldn't take the entire amount off. Like what restaurant can't comp someone's meal?!?!! There is a reason why this place is a 2 star. Ordered 1 trompo & 2 beef fajita tacos. Trompo did not have much taste to except the fibers of the meat. As for the beef about the same thing lots of small scrap pieces. Also I had this for take out. Got home opened my bag and cilantro and onions were not in the bag. Without those 2 makes the tacos even more tasteless. The only bright side that I got from this place is the green salsa. Being from Mexico this is the closest to mexican street tacos that I have found. I usually get the trompo or bistek tacos with corn tortillas and they come with cilantro and onions. The salsas they bring out in the squirt bottles are both good, the green is my favorite but they have this one you have to ask for that comes in a little plastic "molcajete" and it is GOOD, but pretty spicy. Overall I go there for lunch every other week or so because that is the only place I have found to get my taco fix. They don't have the more traditional dishes so it is still "tex/mex" but what else can you expect this far away from the border. Don't go expecting traditional "calle de taco" experience but it holds me over between trips home. read more

Food is fresh and tasty, although somewhat inconsistent, depending who's behind the grill. Service can be excellent (ask for Isabel she is the BEST), or terrible because they are usually very busy. They have the best breakfast red chilaquiles I've ever had! (Again, depends on cook). Good sopes, and their tripa frita and cochinita pubil are very good. Decent coffee too. They get so busy, it's hard to find parking, but it's free parking so can't complain. My chilaquiles are sometimes not as crunchy as they should be, but Isabel always makes sure they fix it and get it right. I don't mind a little margin of error if they are willing to fix it, which is way more than I can say for most other places. Prices are decent, mid range. It's sometimes a gamble eating here, but its good, and when you win, you win big! read more

Look first thing is first decor has nothing to do with the food. The food Is amazing and at a great price helpful staff, evan if they don't speed fluent English will work hard to make you happy. I haven't had anything in the menu that I didn't like. read more

My girlfriend and i waited for 10 mins and no one came to us.. The waitresses seemed to be busy but at least they should have acknowledged us. We gave them 5 more minutes and nothing, they didn't even walked near us so we could ask for at least a drink or chips. Shitty service and shitty food. Barbocoa is served in a pool of grease and it took 45 minutes for the food to come out. When it did come out the taco was primarily grease with under seasoned barbacoa and the burrito had very little meat in it. If your looking for an authentic taqueria that's actually clean, has friendly service and great food, you really need to try this place. The trompo (al pastor) is excellent and pirces are very reasonable. Not a huge selection but thats not why you come here. What they have on the menu they do well. The only downside is that it is in a nice part of town in Katy. If you can get over that, you'll really enjoy it. read more

I've never been rude in my reviews but I'll make an exception for this one. I don't know if the girl in the counter was deaf, or just plain stupid. I ordered 5 chicharone tacos to go and a beef burrito. It wasn't for me, it was for my boyfriend who's working on nightshift. I bought food for him for the night after. Anyway, when she handed me my order, she said the burrito was there. And since I was so fucking trusting, I didn't check it because she was all smiley and shit. The food here is delish. No lies, I love tacos la Bala and i wanted to share that opinion with my man. so I Dropped the food at my bf house. Next day, my bf tells me, there was no beef burrito. It was just a beef taco. Seriously? I'm not pissed cause I wasted almost $5 on a freaking taco. Im pissed cause the food wasn't for me, I bought that food for my boyfriend who comes home from work, tired and all that. And all there is in the bag was 5 chicharone tacos and a freaking beef taco?! I've been looking for a place like this in KATY! Tacos are awesome! Had the Barbacoa and trompo on flour tortillas and had the chicken and fajita on corn! Both amazing! My husband and I had the homemade lemonade - perfect! We had to get another cup to go! Ha! The restaurant is also clean and the noise level is normal. Definitely a great breakfast and lunch spot! This is the place in Katy for sopes , flautas, and tortas. The food is simple and excellent. Breakfast is one of the best in the Katy area. Order the breakfast plates (platillos). The huevos rancheros plate comes with beans that have a wonderful flavor. I also recommend the potato and egg and chorizo and egg plates. Forget the flour tortillas.
