**WARNING**I would avoid this place. Check your food before leaving they cant be trusted at all. I have yet to get a call from a manager or anyone from this establishment. I called in again today and spoke with a young lady. I then asked to Speak to a MANAGER and a male came on the line. I told him what happened then he said there was no manager on duty. He then says the manager will be here Saturday morning. Its just weird how the last Saturday i went and got the food there was no manager there on Saturday morning and I was told they come in during the night shift. It seems like the manager never works. That must be the case if they can't simply read a ticket and tell a 1 from a 2. Honestly F¥€K this unprofessional place. It has terrible customer service and can't own up for the mistakes they make. The food was definitely bland and i definitely do not want another taco from here. It is not worth me to drive 30 mins for a taco when they should be able to refund one taco to me especially if I paid with a card. I came and ordered 3 breakfast tacos. 1 was potato and egg on flour and the other two were potato and egg on corn. They only gave me 1 flour taco and 1 corn taco. I call them politely to inform them that they did not give me my other taco and there response is we cant refund the taco you have to come pick it up or we can give you a credit for next time you come. I live in downtown Houston and i dont live in katy. I dont ever go to this restaurant to eat. I was only there because i needed to get car repairs in katy. I tell the woman over the phone and she says sorry we can't refund the order you have to come back. There was no way i was driving 30 mins back to get a taco I should've already got. She even said it was the cooks fault cause he didnt read the ticket right. Then she told me a manager would call me back and took my name and #. Its been a week already and still no call from the manager. I was there Oct 22 and paid with card I literally wanted my money back but I guess they want to be unprofessional and disrespectful and not call me. read more

This is one of the best dives in katy. Authentic mexican food, so if you're looking for tex-mex be prepared to branch out. The wait staff is all very friendly, and the prices cannot be beat. I thought this was a cool concept with the trompo. The concept reminded me of shawarma-style meat, which I was sooo excited to try. The meat: dry dry dry. It was nothing like the cool, delciousness I thought it was going to taste like. The quality of the meat on the trompo was looow. I'm sorry, I like a fatty and sloppy taco every now and then but I wouldn't even want to eat this when I'm drunk at 4am. I can't say this enough, the ingredients were very low level. The food was alright. .. nothing special. However, since fate brought us here to receive poor service, I thought I'd share. The waitresses forgot to take our order, or they couldn't be bothered. Food came quick, that was a plus. But when it came time to pay.... they didn't know how to use the card reader and had to wait for their boss to come in and try again. But worse than that the service here has sucked even more than the food every time & they weren't even all that busy any of the times I went. Sopes were my favorite at this location! Ive gone to so many other restaurants that don't serve this and im so happy these were close to home. I would recommend stopping here for tacos also, they are always fresh, the meat is good and the condiments go great with your food. Went here a year ago and have never been back. Communication is impossible, they ran out of eggs on a Sunday morning, service sucked, and the place is dirty. We waited for a very very long time just to get water, and we were there for an hour before we got our wrong order, so we jus walked out. I was pregnant and pissed! Obviously I hold a grudge. Don't screw with my food man! I gave one star because before this incident my husband had grabbed tacos to go from here and brought them home to me once. They were so good I was ready to make this my regular spot. That was until I experienced the all around incompetence that this establishment had to offer. It's been a year. The food was pretty good, however, I ordered flour tortillas and those tasted like they came from packets you buy from the store. I am a huge salsa lover and was really disappointed they didn't have any red salsa to try (they were currently making more). Recommend coming here with someone knowing a little bit of Spanish. The barbacoa sopes was delicious. The meat was super moist and juicy and the toppings added on top made the dish look so beautiful. My boyfriend got 2 beef and 2 chicken tacos. He ask for no cilantro but I was expecting more than just meat on top of a tortilla. His meat for some reason was extremely dry. There was no way to save it. I tried squeezing lime on it but there was no coming back. However my boyfriend enjoyed it and that's all that matters I guess. My family and have not being to tacos la bala in a while.... today we decided to go because it has always being a good place. Honestly after today I will not be visiting this place again.. We order 3 gorditas, 1 quesadilla so the gorditas were soggy, no beans, and on top of that they used American cheese on the Gorditas and quesadilla????? Like wth... you guys are really going to put sandwiche cheese on my gordias and quesadilla... very disappointed and last but not least the green hot sauce was frozen and the red tasted spoiled... never again... my wife is white and if a white person thinks authentic Mexican food is bad then there's a real problem there... smh read more

My first impression of Tacos La Bala was not a good one. I remember during night time my family and I went to the retardant for dinner. The servers and owners refused to open the doors for us and ignored us completely. It wasn't till way later that we were finally able to experience their food or service first hand. The establishment is OK, nothing stellar. Some cheap tables and chairs. They usually get busy around lunch time and customer service goes out the window. They only care about profit. Had some of their taco choices and meats which were really not bad but not great. Better than taco bell, not better than my grandma's home mexican cooking. They forget custom orders and drinks because they don't pay attention to detail, and their tables are usually dirty due to left overs from past customers who've eaten there. read more

The tacos here are great! It's real tacos, with fresh meat, cilantro and lime. I've only had the chicken and it tastes great. The prices are really cheap. I've also tried the sope, which is my favorite. Both the green and red sauce (in the bottles) are reallyyy spicy, but they burn so good. Ordered a Cuban Torta and Fajita Taco. The Fajita taco was OK, but I'm not sure that was actually beef skirt steak. The Cuban Torta was inedible. Took 40 minutes to receive 6 tacos dining in. The red salsa has no flavor and the green salsa is a lawsuit waiting to happen. It is so spicy and will make anyone sick (and I like spicy food). The chips were stale and tasted like they had been sitting out for a couple of days. Our waitress came by twice during our hour there and once was taking our order. The first time I went here I had the huevos rancheros plate and it was amazing! Today I got 3 tacos: shrimp, beef fajita, and al pastor. The shrimp taco was amazing I give it 5 stars. The beef fajita tasted really good but the meat was kind of chewy so 4 stars for that. But unfortunately the al pastor taco didn't taste good at all, it tasted really weird and the meat was kind of blah so 1 star for that. But the other tacos were delicious so it made up for it. I came in here with wife for a quick dinner. The first thing that stood out was that the place smelled bad. However We were disappointed due to the fact that we were not served. They told us to take a seat and wait for the server but the server never paid attention. We waited patiently for 10 minutes and walked out. When they noticed us walking out they all looked surprised. I don't understand why though since we were greeted and asked to take a seat - meaning that they didn't somehow not notice us. We will not go back here. read more
