We came in for breakfast tacos. They were busy. I got the Otto (refried beans, cheese, bacon and avocado) and I built my own with mashed potatoes, barbacoa and jack cheese. We spent like $21 on 4 tacos so a little on the pricy side. Tacos were good. I liked my build my own better because the bacon was a little over crispy in my Otto. This review is for the Gracy Farms location. We've loved Taco Deli until recently. Once again, both the salmon taco and the frontera fundido sirloin were soaked with grease such that we needed to replace the tortillas with some we had at home. Was a little disappointed after seeing the tacos. All the tacos were extra salty which is weird, for a guy who likes salty food. Not a value for money for the amount of meat in the tacos. You can make it a meal (Blue Plate) which comes with rice and beans which is the most little beans and rice portion I have ever seen. On a positive note, the beans were tasty. The sauces were decent but nothing that would standout and make you wanna get again. read more

Somehow in the years I spent in Austin, I never made my way to a Tacodeli. Maybe it was my aversion to breakfast tacos, or maybe it was some weird preconceived notion that it was just another one of those gourmet taco places (when Torchy's was all the rage). But it seems Tacodeli has endured, at least long enough for me to visit, and it was certainly worth it. Their tacos, yes, that gourmet style you see all over the place, have a quality of freshness to them, and while loaded, are not overdone so that you feel awful afterwards. Four little letters - Otto. One awesome salsa - Dona. These two things are magical. Everything else on their menu is very good. I've also had their catering. Other than cold tortillas, it's always excellent. I usually call my order in because at the right time of the day, it could take 30 minutes or more for your order to get made. They've got the pick up process down to a fine art. While I like talking to a person on the phone, their online ordering isn't a bad experience either. Their system shares data very well too, because while I go to this Westlake location the most, any one I call into has my info. The employees behind the counter also seem to be well trained. Tacodeli is a world class operation in my opinion. You can certainly go there half cocked and have a miserable experience though. read more

Great place to have a quick lunch and their tacos are awesome! My co-worker recommended this place before we headed south to visit a customer site. I ordered two Mojo Fish and tried three different salsa. The hot one (lime green) was just okay, but the orange one without label is extremely hot with habanero that brings a great kick. The place was packed with lunch crowds around 12, and almost impossible to find a parking spot without patience of waiting. In a world where Torchy's is going downhill as they sacrifice quality for growth, Tacodeli really seems to be pulling ahead in terms of quality, cleanliness, and even authenticity I am a big fan of the Mexico City tacos (either meat) on corn and obviously the dona sauce. Service is always good & friendly and appreciate that they give water cups while you wait. So I will say that i tried the dinner plate, and I think i prefer just getting tacos and the blue plate. Prices aren't terrible but higher than alot of the authentic mexican food trucks and/or stores, but I find myself hitting up tacodeli more and more. read more

While I love this place for having vegan options. It was a bit underwhelming. I first had a Tacodeli taco at a nearby cafe and fell in love. When I found out they had an actual location, as a complete foodie I had to check it out. I tried the only two vegan options they had and since we were hungry made our meals a full plate. And ah not what I was expecting for a $30 meal. The aesthetics weren't there like Velvet Taco which is fine. But the amount of food wasn't there either. Usually taco places/ Tex Mex give a lot of food that leaves you feeling full after. Not here. $5 a taco when it looks like it only has 2-3 ingredients? I could have made this at home. I would say that it's the vegan options but my boyfriend who eats meat was more disappointed than I was. 4 stars for helpful staff and vegan options. Even though they were all confused by my question. I asked if the flour tortilla was vegan safe just to double check because some places put whey and/or butter on flour tortillas. I really enjoy the tacos from here. Do I love the prices? not exactly, but do I love not having any gristle in the meat? YES. My son requested Taco Deli for his birthday breakfast and we happily obliged. We usually prefer to visit the Allandale location but this one is closer to home and decided to give it a try. It was way emptier than I expected for a Sunday at 11 am which was great for us but not so much for the business. The girl that took our order was a little scatterbrained. I had to repeat everything at least twice but she got everything right which ultimately is what counts. Food was as good as always. We ordered queso, guacamole, bacon, egg and cheese tacos, a Mexico City sirloin and a migas royale plate. I'm in love with both the Doña and Habanero salsas. My favorite thing about Taco Deli is that they have whole wheat tortillas and Maine Root fountain drinks. Girl who we watch come inside, order then comes stands besides us waiting on her order, we jokingly say, you're going to be here awhile, as if on queue, the Manager calls her name. We complain we have been waiting for at least 30 minutes, still have not gotten our order and she's been here 5-10 minutes and hers is ready. He goes and checks, comes back showing that he has refunded our money and that our food will be free. I ask how long before we see the food come out....he says he has moved our order to the front, so about 10 minutes. For 4 tacos? Wrong answer! He says sorry as he's walking away telling the Ladies in the Kitchen to cancel the order. The last time we went here, same thing happened, they lose orders. They are more interested in preparing orders for pick up which they throw into a heated box to await pick up instead of their Customers who make the extra effort to dine in. Really great tacos. First visit, I got a mojo fish taco, a cowboy, and a conquistador. The mojo was really outstanding, and I really liked the other two as well. Fantastic food! I love their cowboys taco on flours and their chorizo egg and cheese. I get them all the time! Their sauces too! Especially the green sauce! It really gave me that spicy kick and taste! The only reason I'm giving them a 4 and not a 5 is because they don't sell nghèo lunch menu until after 11 when I usually want their cowboy at 10am. The service is so nice, the salsa is amazing and the food is very good. It's really not pricey at all either. I got 3 breakfast tacos for 9 dollars and I was able to customize them completely! If you are worried about wait time then I suggest ordering ahead. It is a garunteed way to ditch the line and wait time. So many coffee shops in Austin sell TacoDeli tacos for a reason! I came to the store front because the shops I always go to have them sold out before 10. There is something for everyone! This is a mixed review. They have a bunch of interesting flavors to choose from and there was a good amount of seating inside and a bunch outside. My husband really liked his shrimp taco and salmon taco. I liked the pork taco. Both my son and I did not care for the ground sirloin tacos...they had a jack cheese "glaze" and maybe that was it? Dallasite here visiting Austin for the weekend with my fellow Dallasite friends. My friends are now praising me for choosing the most bomba** taco place and introducing them to the gloriousness that is Tacodeli. I just keep proving to them time and time again why I am their foodie queen. The immediate answer to "what should we get for breakfast?" is always "TACODELI." Unfortunately Tacodeli stops serving their amazing breakfast tacos pretty early on (by early, I mean 11am but 11am is early for me)....but it was a Saturday which meant ALL DAY BREAKFAST. I got my usual 3 - Sirloin, Egg & Cheese, El Popeye, and the Otto...but seeing as I have never been to Tacodeli on a Saturday...the Delibelly, which is a Saturday special, caught my eye so I had to get that too. Four tacos for one girl? Yeah, after I ate 3 of them I instantly regretted getting 4 but I couldn't NOT get the Delibelly, y'all. Delibelly = Pork belly...and homegirl loves her pork belly. What's great about Tacodeli is the tacos are delicious and are well-priced. 4 tacos = $15. The Tacodeli in Dallas doesn't have a sauce station where you can get your own sauces and get as much as you like so I really like this Austin location for that. Came here over the Fourth weekend and the tacos are pretty tasty! Fast and they pack it in! Had the breakfast taco ETH eggs and bacon, the bacon was super crispy but eggs were fluffy.
