Dallasite here visiting Austin for the weekend with my fellow Dallasite friends. My friends are now praising me for choosing the most bomba** taco place and introducing them to the gloriousness that is Tacodeli. I just keep proving to them time and time again why I am their foodie queen. The immediate answer to "what should we get for breakfast?" is always "TACODELI." Unfortunately Tacodeli stops serving their amazing breakfast tacos pretty early on (by early, I mean 11am but 11am is early for me)....but it was a Saturday which meant ALL DAY BREAKFAST. I got my usual 3 - Sirloin, Egg & Cheese, El Popeye, and the Otto...but seeing as I have never been to Tacodeli on a Saturday...the Delibelly, which is a Saturday special, caught my eye so I had to get that too. Four tacos for one girl? Yeah, after I ate 3 of them I instantly regretted getting 4 but I couldn't NOT get the Delibelly, y'all. Delibelly = Pork belly...and homegirl loves her pork belly. What's great about Tacodeli is the tacos are delicious and are well-priced. 4 tacos = $15. The Tacodeli in Dallas doesn't have a sauce station where you can get your own sauces and get as much as you like so I really like this Austin location for that. Load up on the Dona and habanero, y'all. They are hot hot hot and yum yum yum. I need jars of the Dona sauce to take home, seriously. read more

Here's the deal: Real tacos in San Antonio cost 1 or 2 bucks. Here they are 3 or 4 bucks. Other places I wait 5 or 10 minutes. Here you wait 20 or 30. Are the tacos unique and delicious? Absolutely. And local ingredients: awesome. Is it worth 2x or 3x your time and money? Meh. It's a toss-up. The vibe is cooler than Torchy's (the Applebees of tacos) so it's got that. read more

Hate that their only potatoes are mashed and their coffee is terrible but other than that it's one of my favorite places! The otto sans bacon is delish, I'll even get it in a bowl without the tortilla I love their beans so much. read more

The food is amazing the service us amazing and to top it off its just down the street from me. Its a bit expensive but well worth it in my opinion.. read more

I seldom find myself in Tacodeli, but when I do, I find their tacos absolutely delicious. Staff is great and efficient, and the quality of the ingredients is excellent. For my latest visit, I ordered the Shrimposito and a Pork Belly taco. The shrimp were marinaded well and cooked just right. The pork belly was nicely charred and had a good ratio of meat and fat. The sauces were addicting as well. And as always, gotta get that blue plate special cause you gotta get those rice and beans! I love the variety of their taco options, I should really stop by more often. read more

Came here over the Fourth weekend and the tacos are pretty tasty! Fast and they pack it in! Had the breakfast taco ETH eggs and bacon, the bacon was super crispy but eggs were fluffy. Also had the chicken mole, beef barbacoa, and pork shoulder. All were really good and keeps well on the plane too! read more

Amazing tacos and other menu choices. I'm always surprised that they can serve such great quality food so quickly.

I went into the shop yesterday to speak with the manager. She's a solid human being. I had come across some trouble with a delivery driver and she rectified the situation in a professional manner atypical for most restaurants I've been a patron of. She actually resolved the issue. Weird, right. It's amazing what can be accomplished with a professional attitude and a dignified disposition. Much love to her and her crew. They handled a delivery curveball like a team of champions. Will ALWAYS come back to this location. read more

Order online, pick up in restaurant is my favorite option. We love getting dinner tacos since now they're open until 8pm. My favorite breakfast taco is the Otto on flour tortillas. I love getting the cold brew coffee mixed with the horchata. Depending on location, they call it a dirty horchata. It's not on the online menu, so I've ordered a cold brew and made the request at pick up. I expect it's popular enough to put on the menu though. We always come back. A personal favorite for quality tacos. read more

Food for every diet or non-diet... Something for everybody in the group! A good neighbor, supportive of area schools and non profits.

This was my first time here. Tacos were good. The manager was friendly enough to refund my queso I will say the only reason I give this place 3 stars instead of one was because the sweet older lady that checked out my order as cashier and the managers kindness. Salsa verde is good and spicy. Queso was very watery and bland. Chips come in a plastic bag in a basket and handed to you... which I think is poor customer service.. It's not that hard to pop open a bad of chips and put it on a tray. I just took the fire bite of my taco. So low on salt.... I'm gonna end the review here read more

IF you wish to eat in this place, prepare for cold tacos and a long wait. They get a lot of togo orders , from all the door dash and uber eats of the world. and people who happen to take our time to go here have to get in line with them all. crazy thing is they make less money catering to these app ordering systems, yet the people who come here suffer. I guess If I really want a hot good taco I'll go to taco flats. Taco deli is more or less now a take out taco spot. read more

I literally ate everything Before I could take a photo! Tacodeli is probably the best tacos I've had in my entire life! If you do anything please get THE COWBOY! It's literally the best taco ever. read more

Fave tacos in Austin! Breakfast and dinner tacos are amazing. Lots of different salsa options with different levels of heat. Very reasonably priced, and so much flavor! Be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes during peak hours and weekends as it's all made to order and it can get busy. Definitely worth the wait. I'd recommend eating it fresh there if you can- doesn't hit quite as hard once it's made a drive home! read more

Still getting almost every single order wrong despite manager saying they will TRY to do better.

This was my first time here. The tacos were really good and there are several others on the menu that I would like to try in the future. However, there were a few issues I had. I got the mojo fish and the barbacoa tacos. The mojo fish was Excellent... worthy of 5 stars. The barbacoa was good but not great..the barbacoa had a slightly different taste than I've experienced with other barbacoa tacos but the avacado portion was generous. Problems: They apparently no longer serve the shrimposito taco though it it still on the menu, I ordered corn tortillas but received flour, the girl at the register had little attitude, the seating inside is limited. read more

Amazing tacos! The best ones in Austin! Fast service and nice staff. I'll def return.

I've only had the breakfast tacos here. We tried The Vaquero (scrambled eggs, corn, roasted peppers, and jack cheese) and the Sirloin, Egg, and Cheese. They were good, but nothing extraordinary. They are small too. You'd definitely need to order at least three tacos to fill you up. I do like the different salsas and the spiciness level of each. We came here on a Sunday morning and it was packed. There are plenty of outdoor seating if inside fills up. They will bring out your order when it's ready. Good service. read more

Consistent delicious meal for the whole family. We love coming here when visiting Austin.

Tacodeli serves tacos made from locally sourced and organic meats that are not treated with antibiotics. Their seafood is responsibly sourced, and they offer a large variety of vegetarian and vegan options. They are open for breakfast and close after lunch. My sister took me for lunch, and the restaurant was PACKED up until close. The staff is very friendly, and they work tirelessly to get food out to the customers. You order at the counter, and servers bring you your food. The restaurant has a lot of seating, but it's very cramped inside. They also have bench tables outside for additional seating. We ordered a large bowl of queso that easily fed 6 adults and 2 kids. It comes with unlimited chips, which are bagged separately. The chips run out faster than you go through the queso, but they gladly give you more chips if you go up to the counter. My boyfriend and I split four tacos: - Shrimp Taco: Grilled Texas Gulf shrimp, jack cheese glaze, sautéed poblano-onion rajas. The shrimp are juicy and big. This was my favorite taco. - Mojo Fish Taco: Grilled line caught Texas Gulf Drum, mojo garlic sauce, guacamole, pico de gallo. My boyfriend enjoyed this taco, I didn't get to taste it =( - Tacoloco: Adobo braised brisket, caramelized onions, mushrooms, guacamole, cilantro, queso fresco. Another one of my favorite tacos. They do not skimp on ingredients, and the brisket was tender and juicy. - Mexico City Sirloin: Grilled sirloin, diced onion, cilantro. Simple taco that fills you up. They only offer breakfast tacos until 11 am on weekdays, but they serve them all day on weekends. My sister recommends The Otto and The Migas. They have a salsa bar near the soda and cutlery station. The first two salsa (the verde and red) and not spicy, but the end two are very spicy. My boyfriend likes spicy foods, but he did not like the orange sauce. Overall, I loved the food from Tacodeli! Great service, great food, and great business model. I would definitely go back when I visit Austin again. read more

Still my favorite taco spot! So fresh and quality. I got my family to be favorites of this place as well.

Been coming here for years and the tacos are always great. Creed was especially helpful today, amazing customer service when I made mistakes on my order. He made my Saturday. read more

The fellow who won my heart in 1994 shows me he loves me in so many little ways.... This morning, it was bringing home my favorite Sunday take out breakfast of the Migas Royale Plate with a little cup of the often imitated, never duplicated spicy, creamy, green Salsa Doña from Taco Deli. Tacos are an Austin staple, appropriate for a snack or meal any time of day or night. They can be dressed up or down, and they can be obtained in one form or another at probably 85% of the food serving establishments in this town. So it's something to say that Taco Deli is up there in my top 3 favorite tacos (scallop tacos on corn - a dieter's dream) and ties for numero uno on best salsa of all time. Yeah, you have your young upstarts like the little fried devil with the pitchfork (and unbeatable queso), and you have your classic eastside Tex-Mex like Joe's and Juan's, but anyone giving a fair assessment must admit that Taco Deli (est. 1999) does what it does consistently well, with enough variety in the menu to please every picky palate. The place was founded by a guy from Mexico City and he and his team have done a fine job melding the Mex with the Tex, while keeping a hippie/foodie sensibility that makes one think, "Yep, this is Keepin' Austin Weird!" What's good? Oh, you mean something more specific than "everything"? Well, the sirloin steak tips with eggs are tender & tasty. The grilled veggie items are always delish. The refried black beans are surely spiked with some kind of illegal addictive substance. The poblano mashed potatoes have grown to become one of my favorite sides, although I'll admit it took me a LONG time to accept this as a reasonable taco filling. All of the veggies are fresh-fresh-fresh, and all of the meats are of the highest quality. If you're in for breakfast, the brewed Texas Coffee Traders coffee is very good. Every single daily lunch special is phenomenal and something worth waiting in the line around the block; see that menu here: http://www.tacodeli.com/menus/dailyspecials-taco-specials-austin/ TD has 5 locations in Austin and Gracy Farms is the one closest to me. I'd estimate that we eat breakfast from here at least twice per month, while my company orders lunchtime catering from here more often than that. They are open until 3pm, 7 days per week (Hallelujah, even Sundays), every day of the year except Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. read more

Phew. I've tasted tacodeli food for the first AND second time during catered events. After a week or so, I finally made my way down there for lunch. The place is located in a little shopping center and line at lunch time is long (but oh so worth it). I got the blue plate special with the Mexican sirloin and al-pastor, mexirice, chips (guac, and some red sauce) and of course, that jalapeño green salsa was right by my side. Lemme tell ya, everything was delicious. I expected the sirloin to be chewy and subpar but in reality, it was tender and juicy. The alpastor was interesting as I've never had it in that way. The jalapeño sauce really does tie in all of the flavors together. I really like the guacamole they have. Ours had a zesty lime kick to it that really drove me to keep on eating chips! They close at 3pm, folks. You can imagine a noon lunch to be packed and limited seating (but we got lucky). Even tho it was busy, the food kept rolling out. Henry Ford would be proud of whatever assembly line they've got going on back there. All in all, visit this place, cater from this place. And for the love of everything under the sun, get the free jalapeño sauce! Delicious and well worth it! read more

Awesome tacos and fantastic salsa that you can buy at the restaurant or at Whole Foods. Great staff at the location near the Domain.

I have only had their migas breakfast tacos, but wow they are to die for. I don't usually do taco spots because they usually serve a lot of meat and I don't eat meat, but I was on a work function and we ordered from Tacodeli. I was pleasantly surprised. Side note: their salsas were fantastic. My only wish is that they served breakfast all day so I could come in on my lunch break or at dinner to order the migas breakfast tacos since I am not an early riser. Absolutely excellent, if I'm ever in need of some breakfast food and Tacodeli is open, I'll go again. read more

I really love Taco Deli but despite all the rave and even the fact that I love the place myself, I think it is a bit overrated and needs to pick up their pace when it comes to getting orders out a bit faster. The staff is always really cool and so friendly but I would have to take a star away from a perfect rating of 5 stars just because of the slow-paced service when it comes to the actually cooking part of it all. The best way to go is to call in your order and pick it up at their call-in counter or otherwise you will be in for the wait of your life for a few tacos. Call 10-15 minutes ahead and you can waltz in and out with your back of awesomeness in hand! read more

A line 30 people deep that spills out onto the street is a good sign, right? I went here on a recommendation by a local, and overall, I'd say it was worth the wait. Visited at 1045am on a Sunday and there were about 20 people in front of us but it got longer. After waiting 10-15 minutes to order, we got our breakfast tacos within 8-10 minutes. I got the Jess Special and the steak/egg/cheese. Both were very fresh and overflowing with the goods. Avocado on the Jess was perfectly ripe, and the steak was tasty and not too chewy as breakfast beef can be sometimes Two tacos is plenty for any meal given the size. The green salsa (award-winning, apparently) was a nice touch, so make sure to grab some at the counter. Inexpensive and delicious, so don't let the line deter you and give it a taste! read more

Tacodeli - Jess Special and Steak/Egg/Cheese - worth the wait - Seafood Near Me - Austin, Texas

This review is for the lunch tacos. I have tried several tacos here, and I keep going back to the Cowboy taco. Juicy beef tenderloin with grilled corn and guac, squeeze of lime and the roja salsa. Every bite is simply delicious and satisfying. Just yum. $4 for one small taco is steep, but in this case, worth every penny! Others worth trying are the pork belly (Saturday special, not available everyday), shrimp has a great sauce, and the thurs special-matambre (grilled pork). To be fair, I've tried Torchy's. They are bigger tacos but boy are they greasy. I didn't want to swallow it. 5 stars alone for the cowboy taco. I could eat it everyday. read more

Very good place, surprised the tacos are actually good. The house salsa is also good. Will be back!!

I was a little disappointed with Tacodeli. I do have to admit that I came here for lunch and did not have any breakfast tacos here. The food was just mediocre, small portions, and kind of pricey for what you get. I guess they use high-quality ingredients but I was still disappointed nonetheless. read more

Loved this spot for a quick breakfast. This was my first time visiting a TacoDeli so I asked the cashier what I should get. He recommended the breakfast platter and the pork belly tacos. Well his recommendations were spot on. Excellent, excellent, excellent!!! It was a good amount of food for 2 people! And they now have a customer for life. If you are in town, make sure you stop by for some yummy breakfast. Oh and ALWAYS ask the employees about their favorite entree because they never steer you wrong. read more

Tacodeli is officially our new fave taco spot! My son and I went after a recent doctor's appointment for breakfast tacos. The staff was great, walked us through the menu and accommodating our Celiac Disease (gluten free) needs. They had coffee for me and the regular roast was good, not too strong or burnt tasting like the big chains. Tacos arrived and we polished off our baskets in record time. Everything was fresh and delicious! Tacodeli - please come to Round Rock, we need you!! read more

"Why should I eat anything else when I've eaten Taco Deli?" This has been my mantra since I tried the Otto breakfast taco for the first time many many moons ago. My enemies are always bragging about Torchy's. "NO!" I say, "You must have Taco Deli." And when those said enemies try Taco Deli, they rescind their Torchy's favoritism and devour all the Jess and Otto's in sight. This we become best friends for life. To summarize, Taco Deli turns enemies into friends. read more

I had their tacos at a coffee shop in Pflugerville/round rock. I think it's called black rock coffee. It was delicious.

Taco Deli during the COVID quarantine has been a *LIFE SAVER*. They make it so easy to not second guess how safe you're being. 1. Order online 2. Pull up to the taco deli designated parking spots at the appropriate time 3. Text them (number provided up front) your order name and what kind of salsa you want 4. One of my favorite taco spot especially because they have multiple vegetarian options that are soo tasty!

The skinny... Food: The tacos are pretty tasty and fairly priced. If you're looking for something quick, inexpensive, and somewhat unique then this place is for you. If you're after something similar but with more flavor head on over to Torchy's. Service: The folks were polite and prompt. Location: Pretty easy to find. I love this location! We go here at least once a month. They even gave me a coupon on my birthday last year! The staff is so kind and personable and they get everything done so quickly. The food is absolutely delicious too. I love the deli belly and the cowboy the most for the lunch tacos and the migas royale plate is amazing and very filling. The migas royale plate was the first real food I could eat after getting my wisdom teeth out and it was so delicious I cried. So it has a special spot in my heart always. They have great covid policies in place with their curbside pick up and everyone is always in a mask and gloves so I feel very safe picking up my food. Over all. Love this place! read more
