Potato and egg with cheese, and papa a la mexicana
    Anjoli F.

Really great spot! Tacos were yummy, staff was very friendly and accommodating with my broken Spanish! I got two breakfast tacos: potato and egg with cheese on flour, and a papa a la Mexicana on corn with the salsa verde. Both tacos were yummy and extra points for HANDMADE CORN TORTILLAS!! It looked like they used Mozzarella for the cheese instead of cheddar but I could be wrong? Maybe it was monterrey jack... Definitely going back!

First time trying this place. My son got the burrito and he loved it. We will be going back to try more items on their menu! The service was good and they were super fast

    Delicious Chicken Burrito

Just got to say it, this is the best burrito in Austin. We love a good burrito but nothing compares to the punch of flavor that Pollos brings you. The al pastor tacos were incredible and came with a blistered jalapeno. I ate up every last bite. My girlfriend got the burrito. Without us asking, an employee saw that her burrito was ripping and called us back over so they could rewrap it and cut it for us. That is the care that they have at this place in their customer service AND their quality of flavor.

    Pollo Tinga Sopes

While the food was completely delicious, my Pollo Asado Burrito was filled with chicken bones creating a dangerous situation. When you eat a bone-in piece of chicken you're expecting to deal with bones. In a shredded chicken burrito? Never. 3 of the bones were massive (3") including an in-tact wishbone and a full breast bone. Another bone was shattered and a 4th smaller one(2") was present. It's a good thing I was eating slow and chewing carefully. I understand that mistakes happen, but you simply cannot be this careless. This sort of mistake could seriously hurt someone. As for the food, everything was delicious. The tinga sopes were our favorite, followed by the pastor tacos and then the pollo Asado Burrito. Despite the unexpected bones, the burrito had nice flavor and composition, though the chicken was a bit dry. The salsa had tons of flavor, but be warned they are on the spicy side. For us that's perfect. I really would like to give this place a higher rating but Im not sure I can until I confirm that I didn't eat a burrito bone that causes problems.

Guys I gotta say, I had to remember to stop eating 3/4 of the way in this taco just to say l to y'all.. BEST CHICKEN FAJITA TACOS in Austin right now. The tortillas are excellent and the green sauce SUPERB come on down and try them out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Also I've had the chicken fajita plate. WoW so good I can't give 'em more than 5 STARS

The truck with the nicest people and positively amazing tacos inside

We were looking for a great dog friendly spot to get a quick bite to eat before hitting the road again on our cross country journey. We needed gas AND food, so this little taco truck parked next to the Shell station was perfect. Not only did we get gas, we got some of the best tacos we've had in a long time. Everyone working here was super friendly. It is dog friendly-just eat on the patio area. We hung out while the chef made them to order. It was fresh and well worth the quick wait. My bf got the pollo taco, and a burrito. FYI-the burrito was massive, it's probably the size of a small child. He loved every bite of everything I got three al pastor tacos and they were divine. The green and red chili's were amazing too. Definitely a spot I wish we could go to again! Maybe if we ever end up in Austin again we will.

Stopped by again for the Torta Pastor and I am completely blown away. The bun is fresh. The meat is tender and flavorful. There's a layer of fried queso which really set it off. The Verde Salsa had a nice kick but not too dominating. Do yourself a favor and check out this neighborhood GEM!

    Main menu

This place is another great hole in the wall! We drive by this area all the time and didn't know it existed, but thanks to other Yelpers I got a chance to try it out. Every place offers their own version and flavor. We tried the carnitas burrito, pastor torta and beef fajitas platillos. Carnitas burrito - carnitas was crispy and tasted like bacon. Stuffed with rice, beans, a little cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Added avocado for $1 Pastor torta - Pastor was flavorful and moist. Filled with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and pickled jalapenos. We can't eat spicy, so picked out the jalepenos. Beef fajitas platillos - the meat texture was a bit tough, but flavorful. Comes with rice, beans and tortillas (hand made according to the sign). All items were delicious, but if I had to pick, I'd recommend the carnitas - mouth is salivating just thinking about it! We plan to go back to explore more of the menu. FYI: During the "lock down", they are open 7am-6:30pm. Also adding menu pics, so you can call ahead.

I love mushrooms and thought about trying the Laughing Buddha which has a breaded/fried mushroom caps with cheese in between, but it might have been a bit too much cheese so I went with the Double Cheeseburger. The double cheeseburger is pretty much everything you want in a solid burger. 2 juicy smashed patties, perfectly melted cheese, and a great balance of toppings without being messy. The flavor is bold and beefy, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. It's the kind of burger that hits the spot from the first bite to the last. The cajun fries were super crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, and the onion rings ended up being one of the standout sides. They were thick-cut, crunchy, and not greasy at all, with a light batter that let the onion actually shine. Both dip well in their nirvana sauce. Service was friendly, and food came out hot. If you're craving a classic, well-made burger meal in Austin, Buddha Burger is absolutely worth a visit. Value wise, I'm still a Buddy's Burger fan as they're also super solid, but Buddha Burger is great too if you're in the area. Do be careful going up and down their stairs to order/pick up order.

They said it would be about 20 minutes for food since they were slammed, but I appreciate knowing it was made to order, so no problems there. Tried the Kaeng Panaeng and it was good overall. Huge portion size but wasn't quite what I was expecting. Salad was pretty standard but I'm glad they kept it separate so it wouldn't wilt from the heat. As for the chicken, I was hoping by itself it would be more thai inspired/marinated/seasoned but it's effectively just chopped up chicken tenders to be dunked in the curry. The curry is flavorful, albeit a bit watery, which I wish was reduced a bit. But if curry is not your thing, my friend's Kai Zabb was very good: tangy, sweet and heat all at once, so good to really switch up bites. And while I wasn't expecting sticky rice, I can't help but say it's the first time I've had thai fried chicken without it. All in all, I think its a great new place to try out, but if you've had thai fried chicken before, just temper your expectations.

Cousin's Maine Lobster Truck is a weird experience…read more It was fun to do once. I am probably not going to follow the truck from town to town so I never miss a single chance to get a lobster roll. * * * Cousin's Maine Lobster is a franchise of very very mobile trucks that sell lobster rolls. They also sell other lobster-on-top-of-stuff dishes. Their gimmick which I am not sure is a plus is to have no fixed location. They publish a list of places where the truck will be every week - generally one location for lunch and the other location for dinner. The Central Texas Truck could be anywhere from Georgetown to San Antonio. You can't just go there when you want unless you are willing to drive from Austin to San Antonio or San Antonio to Georgetown to get your lobster roll. * * * One consequence of being eternally mobile is that the truck has no regular or guaranteed access to a bathroom. You go to a brick and mortar restaurant - and the health code will require that that restaurant have a bathroom. Most food courts have some sort of bathroom - either one owned by the food court or one in a gas station or convenience store near the food court. Cousin's has nothing. So you not only have to plan ahead for when the truck is going to be within driving distance of you ... but you also have to plan to have done all of your personal business BEFORE you go to order from the truck. I do NOT consider this to be a positive feature. * * * There is also the issue of WHERE you eat your lobster preparation once you have received it. You could eat in your car. (For Samuel C that means a guaranteed necessary trip to a car wash.) There was almost no place to sit near where Cousins was located my day which was in the Yuppie complex of apartments near Oracle near Riverside. The park near where the truck was stationed has no park benches. I found ONE bench on the street mercifully provided by an apartment complex. Without that one bench I would have been scroodled. * * * I am from New England and have lots of experience with lobster. My personal opinion is that the way to eat lobster is boiled with a vast quantity of melted butter for dipping. The downside of a lobster roll is that the bread hides the taste of the lobster. This makes your investment in expensive raw materials kind of a waste. Mixing lobster with stronger tasting ingredients - which is what Cousin's does on the dump-ons - allows the stronger tasting ingredients to compensate for the diminished lobster experience. This is the way to go with Cousins. I did a Lobster On Tater Tots With Sauce concept and was not displeased. * * * Lobster should be boiled fresh from the fishing boat and eaten right on the spot. (For a related concept, see corn on the cob.) This is why people go to Maine for lobster and why clambakes with the shellfish just obtained an hour before the clambake make good sense. Shipping your lobster from Maine to Texas isn't terrible since the lobster is in water. Taking the lobster out of the shell and making raw ingredients for your lobster roll or lobster taco has started the clock ticking. As it happens ... The lobster gets old and stronger. This actually turns out to be a plus if you are dumping your lobster on tater tots. Eating old strong fish is an institution in Korean cooking. They like mackerel and other potent fish that pack a pow ... And aging the fish provides a taste Koreans really like. With lobster, aging gives you an ingredient that can stand up to being mixed with other ingredients. * * * This is all well and good. But it is not fresh lobster straight off the boat boiled and served in its natural goodness with only melted butter for a garnish. Some regional foods just don't travel.

I am frustrated. I called two times wirh no answer or return call. I sent 3 (now) messages. I had…read morequestions before I drove 25 miles to your food truck.
