The tacos were lacking in flavor, and usually that could be salvaged with some salsa on the side but the girl working the counter failed to put any into our bag. I even asked for a side of pickled chiles, which she also forgot. What's a taco without any salsa :( The only saving grace was that the chorizo taco had some beans in it which my boyfriend enjoyed. read more

We haven't been to the Taco Shack in quite some time, but was so glad we visited today. We were helped by their server, Esperanza, who was so pleasant, and helpful. Food was really good, we each had a combo plate, beans were pretty flavorful, rice also. Overall was a really good experience and will definitely be back soon. read more

The crispy fish tacos are amazing. My wife also loves their potato tacos and veggie burrito. They also provide free chips and salsa. The inside has limited seating but their patio has a lot of seating. The staff are friendly and fast. I would pass on the carne asada but everting else is great. read more

I have tried many things at the taco shack. My favorite would be the fish tacos and the taco salad. They have daily specials every day. I love their salsa bar because I can go up and get as much salsa and different flavors as I like. They have both mild and hot sauces. The red hot is my favorite. My least favorite of everything I've tried is the enchiladas. I just really didn't care for the enchilada sauce. Other than that the taco shack is a great place to try. read more

First time trying Taco Shack since the ownership change. I got the Quesabirria Taco special, 3 for $10. Definitely high compared to a few years ago for 3 tacos but that's pretty much the going rate these days. Anyways, I was really impressed the the tacos! Taco Shack is one of my favorite Mexican food places in downtown Redlands. Their $1.25 taco tuesdays are a deal, but make sure you get here early to find parking and seats! There is a dedicated parking lot on the side and some street parking, but depending on the time of day and events going on(ie. Thrusday Market Night), it can be hectic! There is seating inside with four 4-person tables and 5 bar stools. Outside has a covered front patio that probably seats a good 30 people! Taco Shack is very busy and is a hit with the locals. It's expensive for the little to no meats they put in their food. The woman who helped me provided amazing customer service - I wish I got her name. My friend specifically likes this place for their fish tacos. If you're ordering a large order online, expect a much longer wait time. By the time I picked up the food and we ate, everything was cold and soggy. The potato tacos were not appetizing, the cheese in the enchilada wasn't melted, and the fish taco was mostly breading. We were very full after eating all that food but not satisfied. The seating is pretty cool, reminds me of this taco place in the beach cities. But the food is mediocre and not worth going out of your way for. It's expensive for what it is. read more

We ordered the Downtown Grilled Chicken and Avocado and let me tell you! Packed full of protein, lots of chicken! I ate the entire thing and enjoyed the heck out of it. I'd like to know what ranch Taco Shacks uses or makes their own? The reason I gave four stars is due to my hubs meal... whompwahhh... he had a chili relleno and it was dry, skinny, empty, & dark in color. He made a face and I felt bad so I gave him a bean and cheese burrito we ordered to have for "tomorrow!" And that he rather enjoyed! Yum But do tell about the ranch dressing please? One must know! Got our order wrong twice my poor mom finally gave up. I ordered Chile Verde nachos and there were huge potatoes in it NO MEAT! I don't know if they were trying to cut costs or what but that's disgusting and so deceptive. It was a carb loaded bland waste of money. This place has really gone downhill from what it used to be. Love this place. Price is moderate, the food is great. I enjoy all their specials, and have eaten all the weakly ones. The food is tasty, done with a flare. The carnita tacos were moist and delicious with a wonderful sauce. Great carrots and radishes, and salsas to put on my food. I go there probably once a week. Went in for a breakfast burrito this morning, ordered a Chorizo breakfast burrito to go. When I took my first bite it was nothing but beans, thinking I need to eat further into it I continued eating. It wasn't until I was halfway through the burrito I noticed the meat, which by the way was sausage and not CHORIZO. My disappointment we tangible. I really dislike when a restaurant advertises breakfast burritos and then fills it with beans and then top it off by serving the wrong protein. My family has eaten at the Taco Shack for breakfast many times. A few nights ago we decided to order pickup for dinner. Our service was fine on the phone, however our order was not fulfilled. After we left the restaurant with our order and made it home, we realized they had left out 5 items from our 9 item order. We went back to the restaurant to get our order corrected, and they still missed two items. The al pastor torta we ordered was of good quality, along with the street tacos and beef taquitos. The potato taquitos were extremely greasy and floppy. The cheese fries were assembled without care, and the toppings had browned. Not all the food was appetizing. I hesitated to write a review, and instead sent an email to the restaurant directly letting them know about our experience. I have waited for several days for a reply from the restaurant, but still to no avail. I want Taco Shack to continue to be good, and not downgrade its quality. I believe the establishment has undergone a change of ownership recently, and this is definitely reflected in the menu online (it is incorrect and they do not serve breakfast all day) and the checks and balances in place to ensure food makes its way to loyal, paying customers. As of now, I will not be going back to Taco Shack for a long time. I am an unhappy customer. read more

Do not go here expecting great service because you most likely will not get it. On occasion, you might get some smiles and pleasantries, but usually it is a no BS attitude. They want your order and they want you out. The food is pretty consistent however, you could come on a bad day...be ready for that. I live super close and we eat here at least once a week, because when it's good, it's really good. Last time we got the el pastor burrito, carne asada, polo, and carnitas street tacos, a burger w fries, and shredded beef and ground beef tacos. I always drove past this place and im a little upset now that ive been wasting my money on other mexican restaurants that are overly priced and not even that great in comparison to Taco Shack. Their food is so savory and classic; down to everything, the flavorful meat, the freshness of the onion + cilantro.. i can go on its just honestly the best thing i've had in a while. My server wad also very polite, she took my order with a smile and was very nice and welcoming throughout the whole experience. Summing this one as quick and easy...good authentic Mexican cuisine, slow, and indoor seating is very limited. There are only a few, and I mean a few tables on the inside. There are plenty of seats outside, but it is highly contingent on the weather. If it is cold out, then not comfortable eating outside, and there are no outdoor heaters. Also, when it is hot out, you are sitting in the scorching heat. I would have given them 5 stars had there been more outdoor seating. I often wonder if they have ever considered closing in the patio area and making it climate controlled. I know this would increase business, as many have left (including myself) due to lack of seating. You can always order for take out, but it's not the same. read more

I haven't been here in a while as i work in the same industry for the last 16 years. My cashier was Claudia and she is the sweetest young lady I've encountered here. She took my Order and i proceeded to grab salsa and lemons. Accidentally dropped my beer in the process and it made such a mess! I apologized and she immediately grabbed me a replacement. Came in at 11ish before the lunch rush.. I am giving a 3 starts due to their portions. Their prices are pretty premium $1.89 per taco. I got two pastor and two chorizo. As you can see on the pics their portion are really sad.. you would think I asked for onion tacos.. the chorizo taco had way more beans than chorizo!.. salsas are not really for tacos.. they need better salsas.. Cute little restaurant. I passed by it on my way home sometimes. Finally had a chance to order from there. I ordered my husband a wet asada burrito with everything in it. Boy was it delicious!! The verde sauce was a bit spicy, but it added a good kick to the burrito. I can't wait to try their other food. Oh and service was great! It's good food, but a little pricey as hometown/mainstreet USA restaurants tend to be nowadays. Two burritos (asada and carnitas) without sides or drinks came out to $18.37. A nice loaded burrito, with a salsa bar (no radish or carrots) that has a really fresh and tasty assortment of salsas. I found the asada a little salty, but the beans needed a little seasoning so it balanced out. Street tacos will be my go to in the future at 1.89ea, $1 on Tuesdays. Arrive early on Saturdays for menudo, which was gone by noon when we visited. (Sad face) read more
