Okay... not terrible but not the best. I went there to get a breakfast burrito after a long overnight shift. While the inside was very clean and staff very nice, the burrito was small for the price and there was barely any potatoes in it, I got a basic egg, cheese, potatoes, & sausage burrito. The Highland location for this restaurant is a local institution, like Cucas is to Redlands, but different. No, you won't find any regional, Aztec, DF, or whatever recipes here, but you will get really tasty Socal Tex-Mex, especially the hard shell tacos and burritos. The interior is small and more conducive for quickly eating on the fly, but don't overlook their superb chicken burritos or tacos. The hot sauce is the thin, spicy picante style, which soakes deeply into whatever you're eating. I never asked if there's anything else to try. On the whole, they're reasonably priced and always a treat if you're passing through. read more

Rosa's has changed a lot over the years. As everything typically does. I can't put my finger on it but the quality does not seem to be what it once was. It's still a place my oldest granddaughter loves to go to when she comes up from LA. The food is best eaten there as it is always cold by the time we get it home 4 miles away. The service has always been good. The atmosphere depends on the day and time though typically alright and always clean. Lots of choices though we all have our normal selections different burritos and tacos. read more

My family and I recently moved to Highland a few blocks away from Rosa Maria's #2 Mexican Restaurant of of Boulder and I the food for the most part was adequate and except for the manager 'Sophia' were very helpful. My wife and I spent $30 on 2 bean and cheese burritos, 2 tacos, large soda and an order of chips n salsa which only came with one small plastic container of salsa. The small plastic salsa container wasn't near enough for the chips so i went to the counter and talked nicely to Sophia about this. I just asked her for an addition (same size) container of salsa so that may have enough for the remaining amount of chips and her response was very negative, non caring and with an attitude told me if i wanted another container of salsa it would be an additional $1.75 and i asked her why would i need to pay an additional $1.75 when there wasn't nearly enough salsa to match the portion of chips I bought earlier and her response was and i quote 'well that's how it goes sorry' so i immediately declined paying the additional $1.75 since i already paid $30+ for lunch for my wife to eat, i felt her response and attitude was very un business like. I in turn told Sophia this was my first time here and i probably won't be back just because of her negative attitude and response. I actually was impressed with the food but because of Sophias attitude, I'm not sure if I'll be coming back. I own and operate a service business and if i had an employee talking to my customers like that, they'd be terminated right then and there. On the flip side, one of the other staff members (male) was very helpful and accommodating. I feel like she didn't feel like being at work that day or maybe she's (Sophia) going just a very unhappy person but I thought i would pass this along to ownership that because of HER, i most likely won't be back. read more

I think this is my second time coming here. First time was about 10 years ago. Today, I got a chile relleno plate. It was alright. I don't really like chiles that have sauce on them and this one had green sauce. It was a tad spicy but that's alright. The service was pretty disappointing, the cashier/waitress was pretty rude. I've gone to this restaurant in the past but never left a review. I stopped going for a while but recently started going again as I was in the area and decided to stop by to get a burrito. I had a chicken burrito and it was very good. The only thing is that the salsa is very watery. I wish they had a better salsa in my opinion. The first time after going back the cashiers are friendly; however the last time I went there was a new cashier and wasn't very friendly. Their prices are reasonable for decent portioning. Rosie's is a go to for our family. Prices have gone up every year for the past few, but with everything going up it's expected. We are big fans of the tacos and the breakfast burritos. My aunt was visiting for the holidays and decided to stop by this place. Big mistake. They got her order wrong as usual. I told her we don't ginger because there's always and I mean always an issue when we place an order. TIP: Double check your order before walking out. I've been going to Rosa's since 1986 - CSUSB student then. Their beans and rice are great. I either get the bean and rice burrito with extra verde sauce or the chile relleno with extra verde sauce. The verde sauce is that good (from the pork chili verde). I only wish they had a location in Riverside. I go there at least 3-4 times a month from Riverside. read more

Went there with my fiancée, she's never been there and I wanted to take her to something she's never had before. We walked up to the front counter where we were greeted with some attitude from the older lady taking our order. We brushed it off at first because we thought she might be having a bad day or something, but as she taking our order she being super short and just having a bad attitude with us, as if we were inconveniencing her. This is my favorite Rosa Maria's location! They are quick to make the food even when the line is long and they are very busy! The restaurant itself is fairly small with some seating, but during busy hours it can be difficult to find a seat. The meat they put in the burritos is superior. The best burritos in the IE that's for sure! Their cheese and chips are also amazing. They melt shredded cheese on tortilla chips and provide you with a yummy red salsa for dipping. Their salsa for the burritos is also delicious and spicy! They always ask how many salsa you'd like with your order and they never put a limit on it, which I love because I always put tons of salsa on my food! I was Gringod by the "owner." I ordered two cheese quesadillas with extra red sauce inside them. In the past I was charge $1.00 for extra sauce. She charged me $4.00 extra for each quesadilla. When I questioned it, she told me she charged me, as if it was for a wet burrito. Their location in San Bernardino that I have been going to for 30 years has never done this. My husband and I have been going here for dinner for years. The service is good and the people taking the orders are friendly. It's self self where you pick your food up from the counter. It's not a large place so tables can fill up but the wait wouldn't take long.
