I had been craving a great California Burrito for months and haven't had any luck finding one that I love in the area, let alone a place that actually serves one. A colleague spoke very highly of Taco Shack and after a close examination of the menu, I was in shock to see a California Burrito on their menu. I had to try it. The result? PERFECTION! Even the tortilla of the burrito was amazing. Aside from a tasty California Burrito, my first visit to Taco Shack was accompanied with friendly and fast service. The staff working the day I came in were kind, patient, and quick with orders. The establishment itself is a counter service type of spot. They have tables inside and a nice size patio area in front of the restaurant to enjoy some outdoor seating. I'm thrilled to have found Taco Shack and will definitely be stopping by again to try more items off of their menu. I work locally so we come here often. We get a discount of 15% and last time the manager made me go to my car to get my discount card (no biggie) but proceeded to tell my niece she was having a bad day, ok cool we still ate there and it was very mediocre. She was so weird about giving the discount and didn't want to. She was irritated that I even asked. Today I go and take my family on my lunch break and show my discount card with a bill of $54 and she gave me $1.35 and said that was the discount and when I explained to her that I always go there she proceeded to tell me that next time I could get a free drink. Patio has a lot of flies. They should really do something about that. All of our food minus my dad's burrito was very cold. Everything! 2/10 I had an hour lunch and just needed to rush back to work. She also told me that soon there will be no discounts, not even for seniors. Ok, so cool, you guys stay raising your prices and then want to be unkind and now this. No thanks. Amazing. Honestly I am very pleasantly surprised how good it was. We came here before a late night celebration at a nearby bar. No regrets, food came out hot and fresh and within a very decent time as well. Price is far for quality honestly. It wasn't cheap-cheap, but well worth the money for quality. At least the fish tacos were & chicken tacos. If I had to knock anything we tried, the chicken could use more seasoning but that's it. The shell (tortilla) was hot and crispy and the fish was so good. Service I can't really comment on. They came by and asked if they could clear the table every now and again, but other than that it's a counter service thing. The ambiance was nice outside. I work at a hospital and my coworkers and I placed a large order of 20 tacos. Because our jobs are very demanding we can't leave so we door dashed the order. After I placed the order I called the restaurant to make sure that they sent us salsa with our tacos. They assured me that we would receive plenty of salsa with our order. When it arrived there was not one salsa to be found. It's outrageous that they charge 6$ a taco and they don't include salsa with the order. Needless to say the tacos were dry and we had a hard time getting them down. We spent over 100$ and when we called back to see if they would rectify the problem they refused to help us. They said no manager was on duty and they refused to give a name of the manager so that we could call back later. I had been eager to try Taco Shack ever since I was given a gift card so today I went for the first time and it was terrible! First, when I went to use my $25 gift card I was told they wouldn't honor it because they had recently changed owners. Very unprofessional not to honor a gift card that was still valid at their establishment. I went ahead and ordered the 'fish' tacos but it was ninety percent breading and ten percent fish and very bland and undercooked. The place was filthy, we had to clean our own table on the patio. The bathroom was worse than a gas station bathroom, very unclean. The floors throughout the restaurant look like haven't been cleaned in years, needless to say we won't be back. One the few spots open New Year's Eve for dine in or to-go. Decided to try their menudo, street taco trio for Taco Tuesday, and a few of their Baja style tacos. Service was prompt and quick at the counter. I waited outside until my order was ready. They have a self serve area for salsa and sides like pickled veggies (escabeche). Menudo came with all the fixings plus lots of hominy. Delicious! Less thick than most menudos yet still very hearty. The birria street taco was the most flavorful, while the pastor and carnitas street tacos were just ok. They needed a bit of salsa. The Baja shrimp taco includes the tail fried on, so for those who have texture issues, it may be unexpected. The real surprise for me was that my fish tacos tasted metallic, almost like a catfish taste. I'm not opposed to catfish at all but did not expect it to be used in fish tacos since the flavor is really strong for some people. Note: The tacos are stuffed with shredded green cabbage first, then the piping hot fried fish/shrimp, and pico de gallo. Maybe it's because of the hot fish my pico de gallo looked discolored with sad cilantro. The crispy tacos looked interesting enough to come back and try. I ordered a burrito with chile verde, not knowing they no longer serve chile verde! They didn't communicate that when I went to pick up my order! I went all the way home ate two bites and realized there was NO MEAT. I called them and told them what happened, after getting charged for the meat and not getting it. I told them I'd come back so they could re-make it with the meat I wanted. The cook started to yell at me that the burrito was half eaten! I HAD TWO BITES, realizing there was NO MEAT! My gf and I when to the Taco Shack in Redlands for dinner Saturday night, about 8:40pm, 20 minutes before closing. My gf wanted tacos and I decided to try their taquitos. The carne asada tacos were delicious! Unfortunately I can't say the same for the Taquitos. We had to take the food to go since they were closing. We were literally 5 minutes from the house so not a lot of travel time once we had the food. The Taquitos were the fattest ones I've ever seen. They were in a cardboard container with lettuce tomato guacamole and sour cream. All the condiments were placed right next to the Taquitos, with the sour cream at one end of the box with one end of the Taquitos sitting in the partially melted sour cream. The Taquitos were huge! I've never seen or had Taquitos this fat before! And soft. The only crunchy part was the 2 ends of the Taquitos. The center was soft, almost soggy tortilla with a lot of meat, and rather dry. My gf found them to not be very good too. I wasn't able to finish them as it was just too much dry meat and soft non-crunchy tortilla. I would go back for the tacos, but it's a hard pass on the Taquitos from The Taco Shack. read more

Came here on my lunch break from work around 12:15pm. They were advertising 3 Ribeye Tacos for 12.99 add a drink and chips for an extra 3 bucks. Super super super disappointed Just got my door dash. I paid $5.37 for a bottled coke and never got it. I got 2 crunchy shredded beef tacos and they were super cold. Pastor taco and Lengua taco both cold and dry. Not to mention the soggy fish taco. $36 What upset me the most is how could you not put at least 2/3 salsa? Everything was super dry. SERVICE: The young lady was super helpful as we navigated my daughters meatless preferences. And, they were friendly and super fast. FOOD: We had the street tacos, potato tacos and nachos. Everything was fresh and hot and super tasty. CLEANLINESS: For outdoor seating, pretty tidy and clean. The salsa bar was a little messy, but they all tasted fresh. When I ordered a chili relleno burrito today, I was thrilled to discover it tasted exactly like a burned tortilla. I mean, who needs the flavor of roasted peppers, cheese, or actual seasoning when you can just char the tortilla into a smoky, bitter masterpiece? It's bold, really -- leaning all the way into "burnt" as your dominant flavor profile. Did your chef not notice the smell of incinerated flour? Or was the goal to create something that tastes like it was forgotten on a grill in a different time zone? Either way, mission accomplished. And the red sauce? An absolute triumph of blandness. I genuinely didn't know it was possible for a sauce to have less flavor than tap water, but here we are. I guess seasoning is out of style this year? By the end of my meal (well, the few bites I attempted), I discovered a whole new level of regret. Not only did I waste my lunch break, but I had to mourn the money I handed over for what might generously be described as "edible." Stopped by to check out taco specials recently and I think this place is pretty good bang for your buck. Food: Fish tacos were $1.79 on special, can do either grilled or fried. We opted for grilled. Comes with 2 tortillas per taco with iceberg lettuce and white sauce. My friend wanted to do them without tortillas so they laid the fish on a bed of iceberg lettuce for her which she enjoyed. The fish pieces weren't the biggest and didn't really fill the taco but it was moist and tasty. They also have a salsa bar indoors where we enjoyed limes and several salsa choices. Yum! My husband and dad found Taco Shack this past weekend while we were in the area, and it's delicious! I enjoyed a carne asada taco and a carnitas taco. Love that you can get flour tortillas instead of corn if you want. My husband enjoyed the queso-taco. I also enjoyed the green salsas. Service is great, the owner is super friendly and had a nice conversation with my dad! Ambiance is your typical mom and pop taco shop. I would recommend! read more
